Wild Card Round – Friday Injury Update
1/6/05
Quarterback Updates:

Seahawk QB Matt Hasselbeck (elbow) isn’t listed on the injury report, an encouraging sign.
Although Jet QB Chad Pennington (shoulder) isn’t on the injury report, there’s rampant speculation that he’ll probably need surgery after the season.
Falcon QB Michael Vick (illness) didn’t practice Thursday, but with the Falcons resting for another week, there’s no big worry.
Titan QB Steve McNair was in a two-car accident Thursday but was not injured, according to the Nashville Tennessean. The Titans were eliminated from the playoffs long ago, as you know.
Running Back Updates:

Ram RB Steven Jackson isn’t on the injury report this week, for what it’s worth. Either the entire league healed up significantly over the last few days or teams aren’t reporting things because there wasn’t one major back on the report as of Thursday night. There’s no truth to the rumor that Jeff Fisher phoned in and wanted to list all of his Titans as questionable.
Packer RB Najeh Davenport (shoulder) got back to practice Thursday and is listed as probable.
Charger RB Jesse Chatman (toe) didn’t practice Thursday but is expected to play against the Jets. He’s listed as probable.
Bronco FB Kyle Johnson (ankle) has been fine in practice, although he’s listed as questionable.
Ram RB Arlen Harris (hamstring) is doubtful, for anyone who was wondering.
Receiver Updates:

Seahawk WR Darrell Jackson (hamstring) returned to practice Thursday and should be fine to start. He’s listed as probable. As for WR Koren Robinson (hip), he’s not on the injury report and is expected to play, although it’s not clear yet what role the Seahawks have in mind for him (Robinson was a game-day suspension last weekend after blowing off a team walkthrough Saturday). Long story short, it looks like WR Jerry Rice will probably start opposite Jackson, with Robinson being a reserve along with WR Bobby Engram.
Viking WR Randy Moss (hamstring) admits he’s not 100% right now, but he’s not listed on the injury report.
Ram WR Isaac Bruce (hip) has practiced all week and will play at Seattle. He’s listed as probable.
Colt WR Brandon Stokley (foot) practiced Thursday, is listed as probable and should be fine for Sunday, barring a setback between now and then.
Charger WR Keenan McCardell (hamstring) is listed as probable and expected to play against the Jets. He’s been practicing without incident this week, although he did miss the last three games.
Jet WR Wayne Chrebet (concussion) is listed as probable and has been practicing, but head coach Herm Edwards considers Chrebet a game-time decision. If Chrebet can’t play, Jerricho Cotchery will likely see more time.
Charger WR Tim Dwight (toe) didn’t practice Thursday, according to the North County Times, although the Chargers are expecting to have him Saturday. Dwight is listed as probable.
Viking WR Kelly Campbell (shoulder) did some work Thursday, but he’s still considered very questionable for Sunday’s game with Green Bay.
Packer WR Robert Ferguson (head) has done some work in practice this week, but the team says he won’t play against the Vikings. Antonio Chatman steps in as the #3 wideout again this week.
Colt WR Troy Walters (head) is listed as questionable, not that your search for production should go that deep.
Bronco WR Triandos Luke (concussion) is listed as probable.
Colt TE Marcus Pollard (ankle) has practiced the last two days but he’s still considered a game-day decision. He’s officially listed as questionable. TE Dallas Clark (flu/head) hasn’t missed any practice time this week and is listed as probable.
Packer TE Bubba Franks (knee) didn’t practice Thursday, although he’s listed as probable for the Vikings Sunday.
Seahawk TE Itula Mili (thigh) is listed as questionable. He’s practiced the last two days.
Other Positions:
(Arranged by fantasy importance)

Jet DE John Abraham (knee) is about 75%, according to head coach Herm Edwards. Abraham is considered a game-time decision for Saturday, but he’s has been doing work in practice. The X-factor here is the poor weather that’s expected in the San Diego area for Saturday night. If the conditions are unusually wet, the Jets might have reason to play it safer with Abraham.
Ram DE Leonard Little (groin) is still very questionable for this weekend, although he’s hoping to give it a go at Seattle. He didn’t practice with the Rams Thursday, but he did do some work on the side.
Bronco DE Trevor Pryce (back) has been practicing fine and should be able to play in some capacity Sunday at Indianapolis.
Seahawk DE Grant Wistrom (knee) wanted to come back this week, but he’s still considered doubtful for Saturday.
Packer DL Grady Jackson (knee) didn’t practice Thursday but is still considered probable for Sunday.
Colt LB Rob Morris (head) is expected to play Sunday. He’s listed as probable.
Viking CB Antoine Winfield (ankle) isn’t listed on the injury report and is expected to make his first start in a month, a major break for Minnesota, as he’s the team’s best cover guy by far.
Seahawk CB Bobby Taylor (knee) is listed as questionable.
Charger CB Sammy Davis (leg) was limited in Thursday’s practice but is expected to play Saturday in a reserve role.
Bronco S John Lynch will play Sunday, despite a fractured left thumb. He’s getting used to the cast in practice, according to head coach Mike Shanahan.
Colt CB Nick Harper (back) and S Idrees Bashir (hamstring) are both listed as probable.
