While NM does rank as one of the best defenses in the country, I believe that Navy can move the ball against them with their triple option offense. NM played against that offense earlier this year versus Air Force and lost 28-23.
Dontell Moore had 29 carries for 110 yds in that game. Surprising in that they were down 21-0 at the half, but not surprising because NM cannot throw the ball (115th in the country in passing). If Navy can jump out to an early lead here, it could be ugly. Navy's run defense is much better than Air Force's, allowing 3.8 yds/carry vs Air Force's 5 yds/carry.
The final score was much closer than it should have been. NM scored all 23 points in the 2nd half, and 13 (missed PAT) of those came because of blocked punts.
The thing that scares me about this game is the fact that Notre Dame dominated Navy when they played. Notre Dame was bigger, stronger and faster than Navy and it showed. I think that Notre Dame is a better team than New Mexico though.
