This is to answer you replies on my thread.

Lets take two teams, Clemson and Ohio.
Forget the fact that Clemson is in a class conference. Lets just say they are equal.

Here are the last nine home games these 2 teams have played.
Clemson straight up is 7-2
Ohio straight up is 8-1

Let us now take ONLY their wins.

How mush did they win by?
Clemson:
44

26

Thats 165 points in 7 wins. They won by an average of 23 a game.

Ohio:
15

35
13
1
4
4
3

Thats 81. They won by 10 a game.

Clemson 23 a game
Ohio 10 a game.

I do this over 5 years and you will see that 80% of the time the teams JUST REPEATS what they did in the past. 5 YEARS OF THE SAME RESULTS.

IF....you bet Clemson or Ohio for one game...giving 12.... ANYTHNG CAN HAPPEN!

IF....you bet Clemson all year giving 12 you will be A BIG WINNER AT THE END OF THE YEAR.
IF...you bet Ohio all year giving 12 YOU WILL BE A BIG LOSER AT THE END OF THE YEAR.

Anyone not understand that?

How much is 2 plus 2? The answer is 4. IT CAN'T BE 6....OR 9......OR 12.

23 IS HIGHER THAN 10.

Zorro, I like your plays but I would recommend just making some picks and showing your worth in here before kind of demanding the respect you seem to be craving. If your picks start panning out consistently, you will be respected around here.

I do have to nitpick at one little thing though. You're using averages in your Clemson-Ohio example. You should be using medians. One strange score (like the 35 Ohio won by or the 7 or 44 Clemson won by) can knock the whole scheme out of whack. If you used medians you get a more general value. For instance, Ohio's median is 8.5, a small difference from 10 but looking at the values, a little more in line with the usual outcome.

Otherwise, I like what you're doing and I'll continue to follow you if you post your picks and I see them coming through... BOL!

Zorro, you misunderstand the nature of this forum, which is understandable, but others have tried to clue you in and you're obviously not getting it.

Just post your plays, with a write-up if you are so inclined. Let's see you're 58% or 80% or whatever. Stop talking to us like we are your students.
