:bang: Every time i get in here and see everyone on the same picks i get drownded!

nc st not even close

depaul :flush:

ark st everyone loved :puke:

I know ther are some good cappers here but how can so many get drowned on the same picks. it happens a lot is the mob involved with these lines that make you love nc st ,depaul, ark st, so much, pay the coaches players and drown every body.

it just kills me to see all these write ups about someone rolling over someone and the other team wins outright.not just one write up but the whole site!

sorry for the negativity just have to vent.:puke:

On top of it all this (POD) thread is going to kill everybody look at the last two days. Brutal dont get me wrong ther are some winners, but we want the majority to win not just a few. my problem is i follow the majority thats my fault ,but the majority makes it sound so convincing.:gulp:

Be careful of the "majority" now in these POD threads. The majority of the people, (now 114 strong) are newbies and haven't proven themselves as handicappers. MadCapper has separated the top 10 (record wise) to help us realize who actually knows what. Over time, the majority of the people in the POD thread will be under .500 so don't tail them and fall down with them. Be selective who you tail and most importantly don't just wager your money on a game just because you see people in here saying they are going to roll. What I suggest is, watch for a few days, maybe a week. THOR is a very good handicapper to follow. Each day, look at the prior nights results. Look at the situations each team was in. And you know the final scores of these games, so you can see how teams respond to different situations. This is a very good learning tool. And it doesn't cost you anything. Keep track of these results. Then down the road sometime, and it may not be right away, you WILL see two teams square off with the same situations and you now have a better idea of how the game may turnout. It's not fool proof but the players are all human and individuals and teams for that matter will respond to certain situations the same. ITS HUMAN NATURE!

GL luck...

You could have just as easily gone 3-0. Even for the BEST cappers it is tough to hit 60% or better or even 55%. I feel I have had a great year in NCAA football making plenty of money, yet I have only been hitting at 55%-57% of my plays. Its an up and down battle that's for sure. Things will get rolling once the conference play begins. GL.

I do see your point with the POD thread! Nothing against Madcapper.....but when this forum has a unanimous pick on a certain team it usually loses! There in lies the problem with tailing folks! If you tail someone then your gripe is limited! Hey, I know nothing about NCAA baskets so I tail DJ, Skins, Chris, JB and others when I'm feeling froggy to bet! I see your point and understand your frustrations! Like last night.....everyone loved Ark St and they got blown out! When I placed my bet last night...I felt like just writing down a W next to it because I JUST KNEW it was a winner! Why, because everyone in the POD thread and elsewhere loved the play! Everyone's intentions are to win and help other win...no doubt! Just be weary of the POD games...LOL!!! GL with your plays!

you don't always have to tail picks you can always fade em, If you see the trend that the most popular picks always loose then why do you continue to play them. I noticed this a long time ago so when I see alot of people all on the same side I normally stay away or fade for a little bit. Kinda like when you see the public is hammerin a side you go the other way.

craigb.... Just to let you know, everything I referenced was towards the NBA. The college hoops POD hasn't taken off quite like the NBA has. Your thread was here in this forum so I thought I'd give you my thoughts. (general thoughts)

One last thing.. keep an eye on AngelZ, also. He seems to fade quite a bit and I think he does well with it. The whole forum was on Ark st last night and his thread had him going with Georgia Southern. It may have been a steam play with him, but very well could have been a fade.

Bottom line.......the popular plays never win. Vegas doesn't give away money. I had a 7-3 day on SAT and of my 7 winners, i believe 4 of them appeared no where else in the forum that day. The key is being able to isolate plays where there is an advantage in your favor. Those plays usually come in the smaller conferences and you have to dig for them. The less people that find those the better. Sorry, but vegas doesn't give money away. If 90 people in here are on one side and have found the same play, chances are it is a clunker. You need to either learn to find games and value on your own, or you shouldn't do this. Because all tailing is going to do is give you the "popular" plays...and those lose the majority of the time....GL to you!!!

craigb, i was with you on the sinking ship yesterday. I also went 0-3 in college hoops, all three picks regarded as great picks by a half dozen people on this forum. Ark st., Mil, and Depaul. Thank God i didn't also take NC state. The point though is that sometimes you have a great card, and none of the teams show up. Bad luck really, gambling is gambling, Ark. state was winning all game long and collasped in the last few minutes. Depaul the same story. Wisconsin just straight blew out Milly. The way i look at it, two of the games were properly capped, bad forunate was the result though. Easily could have gone 2-1 not 0-3. I'm hanging in there for the long haul and i urge you to do the same. Also keep a eye on the good cappers, as GoldenRod suggested, Thor and many others are good, you just have to read the threads daily if possible, to find out who's good and who's hot, to help you cap games you have little knowledge of. Two heads are better than one, i still believe it!!!:prtytme:

I don't know if I'd make it a hard and fast rule to always fade the popular pick on the forum...I've seen it hit a lot, too. As a matter of fact, it probably hits a lot more than people remember...you always remember the hard losses more than you remember the "easy" wins.

I just like to cap the games myself and then come here to cross reference. Very few times do I just totally tail someone blindly...(with the exception of Xerri in College Football...the guy's plays looked crazy....but he went like 101-65 this year.) I guess my point is...use this as a secondary source to further support a game you already liked or to decide to no play a game you liked based on someone's analysis.

Things will get better...and the popular pick WILL hit too.

FlyerFan, its funny you said that about Saturday. I didn't post last night, but I HAMMERED Wisky @ home coming off a tough loss to Marquette....and I didn't see a lot of people making that pick....66-37. You're right...sometimes the best plays are the ones least talked about...Vegas is trying to hide them from you because they aren't sure about the line either...

GL and hang in there...you gotta stay steady with this forum...it will eventually turn in your favor if you spend enough time capping and paying attention to the hot cappers here! This is most likely a low...wait until conference play...a lot of the good cappers here will be razor sharp...same thing happened in college football...slow start and blazing finish!

I said something similiar and in the football forum once and everyone got pissed. I got told a million times how great everyone in the forum is. Always bet what you like first if someon agrees great if they don't that's why they play the games!

Better luick tonight it always truns around!
