NBA : 2* LAKERS

These are the types of games that Kobe gets up for. The upstart Phoenix Suns (15-3 and tied with Seattle, one game back of SA for the best record) come to town winners in 11 of their last 12 games including the 118-104 victory over GST last night at home. They featured 4 players with 20 or more points last night and they’re 8-1 SU on the road.

Steve Nash played 38 minutes last night while Joe Johnson was on the floor for 41 minutes. Shawn Marion (14 double-doubles this season including last night) and Quentin Richardson played 43 apiece.

The Lakers are 7-2 SU at Staples and they’ve won 7 of their last 10 overall. They’ve covered 3 straight as a dog (2-1 SU) and when Kobe dishes out 10 or more assists the Lakers are 29-7 including a 3-2 mark this season.

LA has been off since last Friday when Kobe recorded a conservative triple-double (10-12-10) in their 97-88 win over the Warriors. In that game it was Caron Butler (27 points) and Chris Mihm (15 points) benefiting the most from Kobe’s gifts.
