Think I was about 15 years old at the time and John starting dating my cousin Colleen. I crushed my arm in a biking accident.......the bone actually came out of my arm and my hand spun arround about one and a half times. For a good mental picture to make you cringe a bit.....hold your arm palm down in front of you and imagine about 3 inches from the begining of your wrist that your hand was hanging palm looking str8 out as if your arm was palm up and the skin was twisted. Ok I think you got the picture........anyway I spent 8 long days in the hospital and went under major surgery for it. They put in metal plates after graphing the bone back down flat of all jagged edges. My arm was 2 inches shorter than my other arm so there was a bit of damage. My doctor did a hell of a job to put my arm back together because they said it was possible I would lose it but my doctor said no way am I losing it. I'll never forget that guy!!!
Anyway I got a get well soon card from John and he was with the pittsburgh pirates at the time and he had some of the guys on the team to sign the card and I thought I would share it with everyone.
