Well I don't really have GOY picks but I have been here about a year and will be getting down more on this one than any other pick I have made so I guess by default it fits the title.

Northwestern - 4 (buy 1) - 20 Units
I first started liking this play (even without a line) last week during the 1st Quarter of the Idaho game. I have watched Hawaii play the last 4 weeks and they could be the worst defensive team I have seen in Div I. Boise & Fresno could have both put 100 on them. The only thing that made them stop Idaho was turnovers and a second string QB in the second half, who by my account is the worst QB in Division I. The nice part here is Hawaii is 5-0 at home and had what appears to be a good defensive game last week with something like 10 sacks against Idaho. They also have a history of getting up big for these games. But all this is known which is what I think helps keep the line down. On the other side Northwestern is not on vacation, they are playing for a bowl berth. This is important to NU. If they prepare for this game there is no chance for Hawaii to stop this offense. I also think the NW defensive speed will match up well against Chang (who is about the most overated QB I have seen in years). Glad to see the money coming in on Hawaii. Could wait to see if I could grab another 1/2 point from the public, but I will take it here.

Good Luck Everyone!

Best of luck. I see as -6 at Bodog so not sure what has happened or if I can count on this dropping. Potential is there for a big win I think by NW so might trail ya on that.

I agree. Noah Herron should run wild all over a Hawaii defense that can't stop anyone.

Only reason this isn't a -14 or -17 IMO is cause it's on the island. So what. Northwestern would have to take a major dump for this one to be close, and I don't see that happening in a game that means alot to em.

GL. I'm on this one too

I made a small play on hawaii +6....strange things happen on the island, and that is a LONG trip for the Wildcats. Plus, Timmy Chang got his confidence back last week throwing for 6 TD.

Hawaii was actually half decent last year and in previous years when they were worth playing on the island. This year they're awful. This is a Big 10 team they're facing tonight, not Louisiana Tech or Idaho.

I really don't see any way they hang with Northwestern unless they are able to force turnovers. Freakin Florida Atlantic beat em by a TD, ON THE ISLAND, in the first game of the year....and they weren't depleted by injuries then.

I think Timmy will find Northwestern's defense a little tougher than Idaho's...and anything less than -7 is a steal against a bad and beat up Hawaii team IMO.

Agreed Stif...BAMA and ND both come to mind...but those are past years not this year. UH has played only 3 teams with winning records, Boise, Fresno and UTEP and have lost those 3 190-37 and basically did that in 3 quaters of each game.
I'll be the first to say this is not a guarantee on NU, but at least be careful if you put money on Hawaii. Like I said this play mostly comes from watching Hawaii the last 4 weeks. I am telling you if Idaho had not turned the ball over and put their backup in last week they could have scored 50 on Hawaii....

Good luck whatever you play...

Hawaii IS awful. I had them +24 or whatever against Boise and that was over in the 1st quarter. Literally. Then they trailed Fresno 49-0 at the half next time I saw em play. Fresno could have hung 100 on em in that game if they had wanted to.

IMO this line is where it is because the books will get even action at +5 +6, whatever, cause of Hawaii's repuation on "the island"

Must win for Northwestern too, and Northwestern has beaten teams 10 times better than Hawaii this year....Purdue and Ohio St come to mind.

Hawaii has beaten no one except cellar dwellars in weak conferences.

Of course nothing is a guarantee, but the value lies with Northwestern here.

Well that was an expensive bet! I could have skipped the bet and flew me an my wife to the game.....Apologies to any regulars that tailed me here.

Don't really blame the team, they made a few mistakes but mostly came to play. The defensive coordinator is another story, he should be fired. They played a 3-4 blitz package...it worked for the first 5 drives but then when Hawaii adjusted they did nothing to change. How can a BIG TEN team give up 49 points and 500 yards of offense to Hawaii in 2 quarters??????
