Was just doing some research and this game caught my eye. SMU is absolutely horrible. They are 1-7 on the season and are ranked in the bottom 5 in the country in the following stats: scoring offense (12ppg), rushing defense (allow 244ypg), total defense (allow 477ypg), scoring defense (allow 39ppg), punting (29ypk), and TO margin (-2.5/game). The Ponies have scored a grand total of 2 TD in their last 12 quarters of play, a 42pt loss to Fresno St, a 31pt loss to La Tech, and a 34 point loss to Rice.

Tulsa, on the other hand, are no worldbeaters either. However, they can put some points on the board and are 44th in the country in scoring offense (27ppg). They are 77th in the country in total defense (393ypg) but have played some of the best offensive teams in the country: Boise St. (1st total O), OK State (15th), Hawaii (30), Nevada (25).

This just looks like a two bad football teams going at it, but SMU is simply horrendous. When you are last in the nation in scoring, third last in scoring defense, and turn the ball over more than anyone in the country, you are in MAJOR trouble. Tulsa -12 looks pretty darn good. Thoughts??

M,

I was thinking the same thing when this line first came out. SM who? But Tulsa has a terrible defense that plays even worse on the road. You are right when you mention that these are both pretty bad teams, but that Tulsa seems to be the much better of the two. In these types of games, I personally hate taking the better of two bad teams. One set of numbers has Tulsa by 15 and the other set has them winning by like 7. Probably not going to play this one. Good luck to you which ever way you decide.

Hey M, my local bud..check my post on CFB picks...Already locked Tulsa in early this week. Hope we are both right. I need to make up some slack from these past few miserable weeks. Thank God i started off the first few up quite a few units or I'd be in the hole!! GL to all!!:yeah:

Could be..I have watched a few of Austintown's games this year. They look decent, but got torched by Glen Oak last week. The have a good overall team, but are week on their passing game. They focus primarily on the run...even the QB usually breaks out of the pocket before he'll put up a pass. Stop the run and their done...Which Wildcats you refering to?
