My post was a mistake. I post at a lot of different forums, and at each forum I post my promo stuff where it belongs and then I share a lot of neat stuff at the regular forums too, which is what I am doing here with the formula 3.

My inadvertant posting in the wrong forum was a mistake. The same post was posted in the 'correct' forum at six other forums other than this one. Also, all my taboo posts have been posted in the 'correct' forum right here at UC for a couple of years...

Thanks. Two notes on this week's F3 games:

1.) If you're having difficulties disecting some of this stuff, let me point out two things. One, the best bet is:

DENVER BRONCOS

Best bets start with any teams where all three formulas line up on the same side. From there, I'm looking for atleast one of the formulas to have a LEVEL 3 rating or higher.

Last week the only team to qualify was the Falcons +7, who went on to beat the Broncos 41-28. This week the Broncos are the only team to qualify for best bet status.

Last week's Atlanta pick was really good because it actually had TWO formulas with a LEVEL 3 rating or higher (one had lev 3, one had lev 4, and the other leve 1). Plus they were in a dog role which, to me, is always better.

2.) Be advised that while the Cards are a consensus pick (2-1), the dissenting formula is a LEVEL 3 while the two agreeing formulas are both level 1's. I'm tracking this unique category by itself in the results page, and logic would suggest a pass. It is the only situation where the logical play is a no play.

Don't be intimidated by the RESULTS CHART. That's all it is. The formulas are not listed anywhere.

The only thing posted are the consensus picks and the year-to-date results.

The YTD results are "broken" down in just about every conceivable category.

I cannot list plays in any particular order because these are 3 brand new formulas which I have developed that have...

NEVER BEEN TESTED AGAINST PAST DATA.

That is the whole point of what I am doing. I wanted to do something that I had never done before...

TEST MY STUFF "LIVE" AGAINST VIRGIN DATA.

To me, it's exciting to post the picks each week BEFORE THE GAME STARTS (usually mid-week) and then TRACK THE RESULTS.

However, what I "have" done is list AHEAD OF TIME (in the original thread before ANY picks had been made) the...

AREAS TO "KEEP AN EYE ON".

In other words, "what to expect".

There are four situations that I think will breed better results, and only time will tell if I am correct and if the formulas are worth anything. Remember, they cannot be backfitted as they are going against "virgin data" and I have stated "ahead of time" the things to look for; that is, the situations in which I expect a positive result. Those four situations, as stated before any picks were listed a couple weeks ago, are:

1.) Picks in which ALL 3 FORMULAS AGREE

2.) Picks in which a LEVEL 3 RATING or higher is involved

3.) UNDERDOGS

4.) NON-DIVISION PICKS


Since this is all new and being tested "live", I cannot script the plays for you beyond what I have listed as anticipated positive expectations (those four scenarios).

The only thing I can say is that I expect better results when some of those four scenarios line up together.

I expect better results with Non--Divsion Dogs. I expect better results when all 3 formulas agree. I expect better results from LEVEL 3> ratings that from level 2< ratings, etc.

At this point, I would define a BEST BET as a pick where all 3 formulas agree "and" atleast one of those formulas are a level 3 rating or higher. This is 1-0 so far with the falcons last week. This week the only pick to match that description is the DENVER BRONCOS.

Also of note: Non-Division Dogs are 3-0 when all three formulas agree--even is a level 3 rating is not involved. Although a level three rating is not involved, notice that 3 out of 4 of the afforementioned scenarios is applicable when you have a non-division dog where all 3 formulas agree. This week: RAIDERS

Whether or not you could techically list those as best bets, well, that's just semantics. At this point early in the season and VERY early in the project, I would stick with the tighter criteria for a 'best bet'. Namely, that all 3 formulas must agree "and" atleast one of them must be a level 3 rating or higher.

Arizona falls into the only category where the best play is a no play. While they are a 2-1 consensus, the dissenting formula is a level 3 while the 2 agreeing formulas are both level 1's.

I like Mia myself. I'll grade the Arizona play as the consensus play, but as you can see it has it's own category for unique games like that.

That is exactly why I break down these the way I do; to give insight.

I see no reason why the raiders, as bad as they are, cannot play the game closer than 7 points. Heck, Carolina couldn't cover as faves when they were WINNING, how the heck are going to cover as a banged up losing team?
