West Virginia is 5-1 SU and 3-2 against the spread.West Virginia’s putting up nearly 260 rushing yards a game (No. 8 in the country) so far this year.
Syracuse has already faced three Top 15 teams playing at Purdue, at Virginia and hosting FSU. The Orange are 3-3 straight up and 5-1 against the spread. The only problem is that Syracuse has traditionally been a much tougher team at the friendly Carrier Dome then on the road. The Orangemen are 20-9 ATS (dating back to 1999) at home, but the Orangemen are 10-13 ATS on the road dating back to 1999 and are a mere 5-11 ATS as a road dog during that same span. Specifically, Syracuse is 1-7 ATS their past eight on the road in the Big East and 2-16 ATS their past eighteen as a Big East road dog.
Syracuse is allowing about 180 rushing yards per game on the year and more than 200 yards on the ground over the last three games. Harris ,who returns, and Marshall are licking their chops.
WV is avg. 35 PPG with 400 total yards of offense. Defense is yielding 18 PPG.
Despite the tight game between the Orange and FSU (17-13) its worth noting that they were victimized for 258 rushing yards on 43 attempts and another 169 yards through the air in that contest.
Can't see the Mountaineers losing this one but covering may be close.
The over had been moving up but I see value with the under. Syracuse has a big, strong offensive line that can churn up the clock with their powerful duo of running backs ,Walter Reyes (556 yards ,four touchdowns, 5.0 ypc.) and Damien Rhodes (four TDs, 5.7 ypc.). (Although they'll have to be more successful than their last game when they mustered only 58 yards against FSU).

The Bulls are allowing 30.8 points per game this season and they’ve held only one opponent to fewer than 27 points.
Selmon Jr, a defensive co-captain who has started 16 straight games, won’t play on Thursday against 18th-ranked Louisville. Selmon leads the team with four quarterback hurries, has three tackles for a loss and a half sack this season.
Louisville, which already has two shutouts to its credit this season, is holding opponents to 13.8 ppg behind a mere 295.2 total ypg.
The Cards’ front line is among the best in the country and is a key reason why quarterback Stefan LeFors boasts a sensational 75.6 pass completion percentage this season.
Louisville become the second-highest scoring team in the nation this year with 42.3 points per game. The Cards rank third in the land in overall offense with 504.4 yards per game. In two home games this campaign, Louisville has beaten its opponents (East Carolina and Kentucky) by a combined score of 87-7.

After suffering a major dissapointment last week the Cardinals will look to come out firing. Its a home game on national television so not only will the team be fired up but so will the home crowd. The better talent, the home crowd, the national spotlight at night, I think it will be too much for the visiting Bulls (1-3 ATS), as the Cards (4-0 ATS) roll.
29.5 is quite a bit of chalk and for some reason the backdoor cover worries me just a bit.

I read this at covers earlier:

In Saturday’s 42-35 loss to Army, South Florida Bulls kicker Santiago Gramatica sustained a dislocated right shoulder when he was blindsided by two Black Knights during halftime.

The two unidentified Army players apparently ran into Gramatica while they were running from the locker room to the bench. The place kicker was on the field warming up for the third quarter, just as he always does at halftime.
Bulls trainer Steve Walz was able to pop the senior’s shoulder back into place, and Gramatica finished the game converting three extra-point attempts in the second half.

“I was upset about it at the time, but it’s over,” Gramatica told the Tampa Tribune. “I realize they didn’t have any room to miss me - just the whole football field.”

Getting cheap-shotted and injured is'nt all that funny (actually, I'm betting that its not funny at all) but it's what I read next that made me chuckle.

It’s difficult to say how Gramatica’s injury will impact the spread...".

Are you serious?! :D

After my initial outburst I then realized that a missed FG or two or even a missed extra-point could be the difference between covering or not, even in a game involving so many points. I mean how many of you saw the 29.5 spread and thought "I wonder if the Cards will cover by a FG?".
Thinking back that question is most definately a valid one even if the dialog that innitiated it was ,imo, comical.

So, will Gramatica's possible absence be the difference? "The senior has struggled this season, going 4-of-7 on field goal attempts for a dismal 57.1 percent completion rate. Last Saturday he missed one field goal try in the first half against Army and he opened the contest by booting an onside kick out of bounds to give the Black Knights excellent field position.".

If anything he might help Louisville cover.

The Wildcats' offense, second in the Big Ten in passing (265.3 ypg) and fourth in rushing (173.2), will be seriously tested against the nation's stingiest defense
Herron is second in the Big Ten with 112.0 rushing yards per game, while quarterback Brett Basanez is second with 289.3 yards of total offense.
Herron is second in the Big Ten with 112.0 rushing yards per game, while quarterback Brett Basanez is second with 289.3 yards of total offense.
Wisconsin leads the nation in scoring defense, allowing only 8.0 points per game. The Badgers, second in the country in total defense (222.4 ypg), have surrendered only five touchdowns this season, the fewest in the nation.
Unfortunately, the nations best D will be missing their best D player, Erasmus James.

NW is coming off two huge wins and a bye week, so will that momentum and extra prep time help or has the layoff quelled their intensity? The Cats average a little less than 6 pts 1stH but double that average in the 2ndH. Couple that with NW's lighter schedule, the Badgers much tougher schedule, and the fact that Wisconsin has allowed an average of less than 3 per 1stH against that tougher schedule and I'll take the home team 1stH and look toward a NW play in the 2ndH.

Penn. St. is a different team at home and Iowa is a much different team away but 2 0f their 3 home wins they beat up on C.Fla. and Akron. They did take out Purdue in their last home win but I still like Iowa.

Penn St. didn't get a 1st down till there were 57 ticks left in the 1stQ and were handed a safety when the snap went over the punters head and out of the endzone. This game has been riddloed with mistakes and turn-overs.
I have the 2ndH pegged at around 10-7 Iowa but will stay away.

Wisconsin will pound the run while the Cats attempt to play catch-up ball.
