Very tight matches for Wednesday's Champions League matches. Primarily going with O/U's. I don't recommend the Anderlecht/Werder Over as both teams will be w/o some key offensive players. I found out this info after I placed it but IMO both teams still feature good attacking options. I'm actually going to take an Under for Arsenal which took me so long to place cause I just couldn't get the will power to do it. Panathinaikos plans on using a very defensive lineup versus them for this clash. All these O/U's are very tricky today but I still like them so I'm crossing my fingers. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Shitty day. Very suprised that Shaktar/Celtic game went Over. 3 2nd half goals by Shaktar put that one over and that was very frustrating. Celtic stinks defensively. Also dissapointed in Slough and Esbjerg as they each faced a team that was clearly weaker then them and neither can come up with a win. I plan to get all that I lost today back tomorrow and then some in the UEFA Cup.

October 21st
UEFA Cup
VfB Stuttgart (Germany) (-143) Over KSK Beveren (Belguim) - 5 units (W) (Stuttgart won 5-1)
Standings:
VfB Stuttgart - 1st place 6-0-2 (+12 GD 17 GF and 5 GA)...Away 2-0-2 +3 GD 6 GF and 3 GA).
KSK Beveren - 14th place 2-4-3 (-2 GD 9 GF and 11 GA...Home 1-2-1 -1 GD 4 GF and 5 GA)
UEFA Cup Results:
Ujpest (Hungary) 1 - 3 VfB Stuttgart
VfB Stuttgart 4 - 0 Ujpest
KSK Beveren 3 - 1 Vaduz (Switzerland - 2nd Division)
Vaduz 1 - 2 KSK Beveren
Levski Sofia (Bulgaria) 1 - 1 KSK Beveren
KSK Beveren 1 - 0 Levski Sofia
For starters Stuttgart is the favorite to win this Group that also includes Dinamo Zagreb and Benfica. According to the Odds on Group Outrights Beveren is expected to finish in last place. Stuttgart is flying high at the moment leading the German Bundesliga. They've yet to lose a game this season and have currently won there last 4 including there last UEFA Cup match since a 0-0 draw versus Hertha Berlin back on 9/19. This past weekend they beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0. With Kurayni, Cacau, Hleb, Hinkel, Sczabics and Company Stuttgart are just playing outstanding soccer at the moment. Beveren right now are struggling in the weaker Belgian league where they are currently sitting in 14th place. They lost this past weekend in an away match versus Sporting Charleroi 2-1. Beveren needed to play two rounds to get into the group play. Except for the 1st round where they faced a 2nd division team from Switzerland they weren't able to beat Levski Sofia convincingly although Levski is in 2nd place in there league. Weather actually will be a problem for the home team Beveren. The field is expected to be wet which will be a problem for Beveren since they feature a team made up of fast technical players. It was the same conditions they faced this past weekend and according to the reports they struggled with it. Stuttgart has been on a serious roll this season and I see no reason why they shouldn't continue to play well in this match. Only problem I see for them is that this is an away match. But looking at there results and there team I don't see that being a big problem. Beveren is a weaker team and they probably wouldn't be able to hang in the German Bundesliga.
Athletic de Bilbao (Spain) (-125) Over Parma (Italy) - 5 units (W) (Bilbao won 2-0)
Standings:
Athletic de Bilbao: 12th place 2-3-2 (-2 GD 9 GF and 11GA)...Home 2-1-1 (+1 GD 6 GF and 5 GA)
Parma: 19th place 0-3-3 (-7 GD 4 GF and 11 GA)...Away 0-2-1 (-6 GD 3 GF and 9 GA)
UEFA Cup Results:
Trabzonspor (Turkey) 3 - 2 Athletic Bilbao
Athletic Bilbao 2 - 0 Trabzonspor
Parma 3 - 2 NK Maribor (Slovenia)
NK Maribor 0 - 0 Parma
For starters this according to the odds set for group outrights pits the favorite of the group Athletic Bilbao versus the 2nd favorite Parma. I kind of understand this cause with Standard Liege and Besiktas in the group I can only really see Besiktas causing a problem. For me Athletic Bilbao should win this group and this game. Bilbao is a very entertaining team and although there results so far in the Spanish Primera Liga haven't been great it doesn't really show how good this team can be. This season they've beaten Real Madrid (Champions League) and tied Valencia (Champions League) while losing to Deportivo La Coruna (Champions League) on a 90th minute goal. Those are 3 very tough teams and one's that really prepare them for a match like this. This past weekend they beat a good Malaga side 1-0 at home. Bilbao is lead by Urzaiz, Iraola, Exteberria and Ezquerro all very good players. In the UEFA Cup they managed to advance against a very difficult Trabzonspor (2nd place in Turkish league and were in the Champions League) team. Getting by them was a significant step for them on the season and clearly puts them in a good position for advancement out of this group. Parma is not the Parma of old. The club has struggled with finances coming into the season and they were not able to keep the necessary players to put them in the top half of the Italian Serie A. Now they don't belong in 2nd to last which they are now but they aren't playing well at the moment. After jumping out to a 1-0 lead on the road against 15th place Brescia this weekend Parma then conceded 3 straight goals to drop a 3-1 game. They were said to play extremely poor with the exception of Italian star Gilardino. I've read in a few places that Parma will not bring there entire starting team to this contest as there concentration is on the Serie A and a few players due have fitness problems. Some reports have had Gilardino as one of the players not attending the match although I haven't been able to confirm that yet. That's a huge blow for this Parma team as he's probably there lone creating force up front. In the UEFA Cup Parma narrowly got by a much weaker Slovenian team Maribor (6th place in the Slovenian league). Parma's lone bright spot of the season was a 2-2 draw versus Inter Milan (Champions League) but at that point Inter was struggling with it's form and have rightfully turned it up a notch. On the road this season Parma has lost 4-0 to Udinese, tied Inter 2-2 and lost to Brescia 3-1. I just see this being a very difficult game for Parma. There coach is under serious pressure to produce results in there league and they have to be looking to this weekend's home match versus Lazio which I believe is more important for them. Bilbao is one of the favorites and the odds in this game are just too good for me to pass up. Bilbao has always been a strong home side and they should win this game.
Good Luck to All!!!!

I trailed you on some picks and parlayed the Rangers, Stuttgart, and Athletic Bilbao and brought home some bank! I wish I would have laid more down! Bookie - Sorry bro I was at work all day. Odds dropped significantly. Word broke that in Italian books Athletic were -225 and going even higher and also that Parma were only bringing 3 starters to this game. Stuttgart match was just a huge public play and rightfully so. Glad you cashed on them...Congrats!!!!
Emericj- Thanks!!!!
Socrstud - Thanks and Congrats....Soccer isn't that easy though. Unlike most sports there are 3 outcomes and it's hard to determine which game is more important for the other. The easy matches are normally the ridiculous juice lines that I just won't play...Congrats on today!!!!
Adam- Thanks and keep up the great work!!!!
Great day today. Only the parlay didn't come in. Overall looking at the results it was pretty much a very predictable day in the UEFA Cup. It's been a good week so far so I only hope I can continue it into this weekends league matches.

Just one play for Friday. Not a big one but the injury info on the away team lead me to like the home side for this match. There were some others I liked today but I'm trying to shy away from some of the lower division leagues that I'm not entirely comfortable with. Really concentrating on Saturday's card. Best of luck to everyone!!!!
October 22nd
German Bundesliga II
Unterhacing (+100) Over Energie Cottbus (W) (Unterhacing won 2-1)
Cottbus will be w/o there starting keeper, top midfielder, top defender and top striker and another midfielder for there visit to Unterhacing. Unterhacing's form is slightly better then Cottbus of late. Unterhacing is 2-2 at home with a GD of +4 (9 GF and 5 GA). Cottbus is 0-2-2 on the road with a -4 GD (2 GF and 6 GA). Unterhacing and Cottbus are tied for 10th place with 10pts. Should be a good game. Unterhacing is usually a pretty good home team while Cottbus struggles somewhat on the road. I'll take the shot on Unterhacing in this one cause of the injuries to Cottbus they'll field the stronger side.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Still have a bunch of things to go over for Saturday. Will have more probably tonight and tomorrow morning. Going with my best selections for Saturday unlike the past where I picked a handful of games I was interested in. Hopefully they'll work out. As for the EPL tomorrow. The only side I like to win outright is Liverpool but I've been burned by them in the past and I'm having a hard time playing them at -200 so I'm just going to go with some O/U's. Best of luck to everyone!!!!
October 23rd
Italian Serie A
Juventus (-162) Over Siena - 5 units (W) (Juventus won 3-0)
Standings:
Juventus - 1st place 5-0-1 (+10 GD 12 GF and 2 GA)...Away 3-0 (+7 GD 7 GF and 0 GA)
Siena - 17th place 1-3-2 (-5 GD 3 GF and 8 GA)...Home 1-0-1 (+1 GD 2 GF and 1 GA)
Juventus is hoping they can add to there 3 pt lead on AC Milan as AC has a huge derby game versus Inter Milan this weekend. Juventus at the current moment might have one of the worlds best defenses. They've conceded just 2 goals in league play through 6 games and have yet to concede a goal winning all 3 Champions League matches 1-0 over opponents Ajax, Maccabi Tel-Aviv and during the midweek over Bayern Munich. For this game though and the past couple of games Juventus has been without there top striker french star David Trezeguet. He's out for a couple of months so once again Juventus will turn to Ibrahimovic and either Del Piero or Zalayeta. Del Piero has been out of form and was given the last two weeks off to heal his sore Achilles tendon. Juventus defense is just amazing. With Zambrotta, Thuram, Cannavaro, Zebina and quite possibly the worlds top goalie Buffon opponents have had a hard time breaking them down. There midfield isn't too shabby either with last years reigning worlds #1 player Nedved combined with Emerson, Camoranesi, and Nesi. Siena is having a difficult time this season. Although they are coming off a 0-0 draw versus Fiorentina things have not been great for them. They've done well at home beating 9th place Sampdoria 2-1 (Juventus beat them 3-0 on the road) and they tied 13th place Reggina 0-0. So for Siena coming home for this game is a nice boost but injuries seem like it will be a big problem for them in this match. As many as 4 starters could be out for the home team in this match and there top star Taddei still has not been inserted into the starting lineup since he had a contract dispute. Siena still due have Tor Andre Flo up front but he'll have a difficult time creating chances in this game. These two met twice last season with Juventus winning 4-2 at home and 3-1 on the road. Juventus w/o Trezeguet up front certainly worries me but with Ibrahimovic and either Del Piero or Zalayeta can get the job done IMO. Also this being a road match after a tough Champions League match could be a problem. Still Juventus has been grinding results out this season and I don't see why they can't do it again here in this match. Juventus should win this one and any other result will be a very dissapointing.

Yeah, I checked out betdevil last night - and I noticed that it's now subscription based to see the %'s - that's too bad. I did check out the hat site and they are still offering their %'s. Wonder if bd will make out charging.
Good luck tomorrow!
And GFTA!!!

Emericj- I'm more pissed that there is less info on that pop up then before. It was so much easier to get all the Home/Away info as well as Form and Standings. Oh well shit happens I kind of figured it would happen....Thanks and Good luck to you as well tomorrow!!!!
ADD:
October 23rd:
France Le Championnat
Lyon (-154) Over Istres - 5 units (L) (Game tied 0-0)
Standings::
Lyon - 1st place 6-0-4 (+10 GD 15 GF and 5 GA)...Away 4-0-1 (+5 GD 9 GF and 4 GA)
Istres - 19th place 0-5-5 (-7 GD 6 GF and 13 GA)...Home 0-3-1 (-5 GD 1 GF and 6 GA)
I don't really have much in terms of injury info for either team. Lyon is coming off a huge morale boosting victory in the midweek Champions League match beating Fenerbahce (Turkey) 3-1 on the road. Pernambucano (2 goals) and Frau lead the way for them. With Wiltord also on the team Lyon has been able to withstand the early season injury to star striker Elber. Lyon has had a very succesful start to the Champions League beating Sparta Prague on the road and drawing versus Manchester United at home. Istres is really struggling in there return to ther top league. There winless and to make matters worse they've yet to win at home. They have managed to come up with a win on the road and a very nice draw versus Bordeaux last week on the road despite being a man down for 30 minutes in the match. I just don't see Istres having enough to stop Lyon here in this game. Lyon has not been beaten since I believe midway last season in the French league. Lyon has won there last 4 on the road with this past midweeks Champions League match and I just see it continuing against a weaker opponent.

:bang: :bang: I've seen more attacking in this Everton match then in any other one of there matches this season. Norwich stinks. I'll need a miracle for this one to stay under 2.5. Everton leads 2-0 at the half.:bang:

Emericj - Congrats again on the double and the parlay...Great job!!!!
Seriously if only Lyon could have done there job and taken care of lowly Istres this could have been a great day. Lyon and the two EPL Unders really put a hamper into my day. Besides that everything else was great and really there wasn't one game that I needed to sweat. Ok maybe Malatyaspor who were tied 0-0 in the 74th minute and then had a player handed a red card but they then went on to score 2 goals to win 2-0. Overall I won't complain cause it was a profitable day but to be honest I really felt this should have been a perfect card.

For those who have accounts with Bet365 as long as your wager for this game is OVER $40 you get a FREE $40 Live Bet in the 2nd half. Just make sure but I believe that is the case. It's been a good week so far so I hope I can continue it here on Sunday. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Good luck tomorrow Corey - about the free bet, 365 will match any bet stake *up to $40* - so if you lay, say, 15, you'll get a 15 free wager for the 2nd half of the match. That's how I read it:
Simply place any single bet on the big game before kick off and bet365 will give you a free In-Running bet to the same stake to place on the market of your choice during the Second Half (up to $40 or currency equivalent).
