View Full Version : Forget about Houston!!

Why is everyone dwelling on this Houston game? It's in the past. And, if you must be reminded, Miami won that game by 25 points, in Houston. Then they beat G.T. on the road, and now they are at home in the national spotlight. Was that not a big enough blowout for everyone. Home teams play tough and play hard against national powerhouses. That is exactly what Houston did. But they still lost the game. And they lost big.

Louisville has not played any team of this caliber this season. And now they face an intense defense and they face it on the road. This is a bad spot for them.

Louisville only beat Army by 31 points early. Surrendering 21 to them. That doesn't show a me a good defense. But its the same scenario as Miami/Houston. They were on the road and unmotivated. Shit happens.

Every week is a different week. Don't read into these matchups so deeply. Your not doing yourselves any favors but looking at one game from 2 weeks back and throwing your money on the line because of it. This game is a different time, in a different place.

And one last thing...... Houston scored more points against Miami than Florida State did. Does that mean Houston can beat FLA. St.?

First of all it is very important to look at how teams played other teams...case in point, last night. I agree that you cannot make it your whole case, especially with COLLEGE athletics of anykind. Too much emotion.

Regardless, It is not that those games were blowouts, you dont just look at scores of the games, you see how they scored in those blowouts. In both games, Miami O did not look good. Yeah Berlin had three tds but was 10 for 20. GT turned it over 4 times to give up good field position. Houston turned the ball over 3 times one resulted in a long fumble recovery TD in that game. They did manufacturer a great drive against this glorious D of Miami's before the half. Miami did win by 25 but did not have an offensive score until late in the fourth. Houston's subpar D held them scoreless for two quarters, on offense anyway. Louisville did give up 21 to Army, but in my post about the WVU game that happens when a team goes up early. They get greedy and the second string has comes in to give up junk Scores. You can get a lot out of previous games if you know what to look for.

But Rod i will say this, cap your way and let everyone else cap theirs without telling them how just give your take and leave it.

Of course with my record right now i would not believe a fucking word out of my mouth either....LOL

This Houston argument is absolutely ridiculous.

Berlin fumbled like an idiot that got returned inside the 10 and that cost Miami the cover. And most teams can manufacture 1 great drive per game.

Berlin has improved over the last 2 weeks, even though as a Miami fan, I can't wait till he's gone.

Louisville has played NO ONE....I repeat NO ONE!

Miami DOES NOT lose at home very often and I am hard-pressed to believe that this Cardinals team that is resting on the laurels of 3-50 point wins over the bottom feeders of the NCAA is going to change that tonight.

Same to you Rod!

Ace:
really most teams can muster one good scoring drive per game even a subpar O...against Miami. Regardless Good luck to you tonight however you bet. I wish we could all win, since we all have the same enemy............

I can look back at all of the past national champions and find at least 1 great scoring drive against all of them by a bad team.

Even the Oklahoma team that dominated everyone and went undefeated needed a last second hold to beat a very bad Oklahoma State team.

Your point is here is to knock Miami's D and that is quite short-sighted.

NOPE YOU GOT IT WRONG. I like Miami and their D. No that is not it all. You dont only give up one TD all year and be ranked first in points against and get knocked. My point in this post is that you do look at other games and if Louisville does not turn the ball over, they have enough weapons to score a few points, Berlin cannot take control of the game if he has too.

But you are right, that is me, I am very short sighted, the only reason I use a pencil is to circle a team on the left or right in the newspaper and then throw my hard earned money down.

Now, Good Luck to you we will see tonight.

Berlin has gotten better IMO recently, he got benched in GTech game then came back out and lit it up. Miami D was able to handle the Houston O and blocked a punt early which really destroyed Houston IMO. Miami at home against a team that they will not under-estimate, I'll take Miami. Just my thoughts. BOL

payday,

"really most teams can muster one good scoring drive per game even a subpar O...against Miami"

That was your quote. That's not a slight on their D????

last thing I'm saying on this...

I did not call YOU short-sighted...I said that statement was....I have nothing but respect for everyone that makes picks in here and value others' opinions.

With that out of the way....

this game is kicking off in 3 hours and we'll see what happens.
