Well, I have posted my comments on deadgarcia's thread as well as the Canes "hey bo" thread about this OSU/Iowa game. If you want to look at why I think Iowa will win, take a look at those posts.

However, I did want to add what I see as being a major piece of information about Saturday's game....there is dissension in the ranks in Columbus. The OSU players have become divided over whether Troy Smith or Justin Zwick should be starting. The players have made comments in the paper and on the news...some say that Tressel's the coach and they trust him and if he's behind Zwick, that's fine. Others have come out and questioned Tressel....Tressel has been quoted as saying that Troy Smith will start when he shows that he's the better QB in practice, which hasn't happened. Well, some players have stated that Troy Smith has been the better player in practice and that since Zwick isn't doing anything, they should give Smith a chance since he is more of a scrambling QB.

These OSU boys clearly aren't used to being "on tilt." Looks like Tressel may not have control of his kids right now. Its never good when professional players question their coach in the media...but college kids? NOT GOOD.

So the Buckeyes now head to Iowa City to play against a good defense and a coach who has OSU marked on his calendar because they are the only team he hasn't beaten in the Big 10. Now, OSU has a struggling QB whose teammates have come out against him in the media....

IMHO, OSU will have to pull out a miracle to come together and pull this game out. Things are not well in C-bus. Maybe OSU will come out on fire after the adversity they've faced...but all indications are pointing to a melt down. If you are capping this game and want some extra info on this subject, go to bucknuts (hope its ok to post that site)

I'll take Iowa. I also really like the under in this game.

Hope this helps and GL.

With or without a QB controversy...I'm still laying at least a $100 on My Hawkeyes! The blowout loss that they took to ASU is deceiving. ASU played their best game in five years and the following week with Michigan, the Hawkeyes still covered most spreads even with five turnovers.

Nigel,
That was one player not players that spoke up for Troy smith to be the starting QB. I enjoyed most of your info but..... I'll take the Bucks by 6:thumbs:

Nigel--

Love the movie by the way..one of the all time greats, especially if you are a heavy metal fan...LOL :yeah:

Saw in your other thread you are flying into Iowa City on Friday. You bringing your own plane then? You must have some DEEP pockets, dude....LMAO!!

Seriously though, I'm not heading up to I.C. until Saturday AM. Not sure if its your first trip to I.C., but we will be tailgating over on Myrtle Ave--which is actually in the airports flight patern. We drink beer, look up and say--man, I wish I had the $$ to be able to own my own plane and fly to the game....

If you are going to be anywhere near that area and want to stop by for a beer, get my e-mail from Kevin and drop me a line and I'll give you detailed instructions in how to find us.

FWIW, I'm playing the Hawkeyes this week, too. Zwick sux and the Iowa D should shut them down and allow an improving offense to get the win in Kinnick Stadium. Go Hawks!!

Hey, I'm a Buckeye fan....but this just isn't good heading into Iowa. The Bucks last lost at Iowa, what in 1982 or something....something's gotta give. No better time than the present.

GL.

redsfann...I'll try emailing Kevin if I have enough time tonight...I've got to pack, laundry, etc. and I have to be up @ 6:00 a.m. to catch the flight. And yes, we're flying into Cedar Rapids....no deep pockets here.

If I don't have time to get the emails going, I'm sure I'll be intoxicated enough to have no problem walking up and down Myrtle Ave. screaming "redsfann?! redsfann?!...I want a beer, damnit! Where the hell are you?"

Like I said I'll try dropping kevin an email....
