Made my first post last week and went 3-1 on straight picks, 1-0 on a 3 team tease. Hope to keep it up. Here are my picks:
BC -9 over Pitt Basically a go against game. Pitt is absolutely dreadful, BC should be able to get through this game with no problem.
Ok St. -7 over Texas A+M Lines keep going down on this team, (last weeks game vs Colorado went from 6.5 to 4 on Sat.), and they keep steamrolling teams. Not sold on A+M. Their 2 wins against "solid" teams, Clemson and Kansas St. don't look so solid anymore. Maybe the most underrated team in the nation.
Fla St. -3 over Virginia I've seen some other early posts on the board picking Virginia, but I absolutely love Fla St. here. If it was in Virginia it would be a no play (be warned Miami), but there is no way I'm taking an unproven team who has played no one, in one of the toughest places to win in the nation. Yes, I know Fla St. struggled against a bad Syracuse team and has only played Miami, but they did get a running game going and should be ready here.
UNLV -2.5 over New Mexico Another top pick. Nice opportunity here at home for UNLV to get a win. My writeup last week was about how I couldn't understand how low the Air Force line was. They barely got there when it was said and done, but they beat New Mexico by 5. Looks like a close game, but New Mexico scored twice on punt blocks. New Mexico is just a bad team.
South Carolina - 12.5 over Kentucky Another real bad team here = Kentucky. 2 ugly losses in a row to Ohio U and Alabama have this sad sack 6 feet under. Meanwhile, South Carolina lost itself to Miss St. as a big favorite outright at home on a desperation 4th down TD with seconds left. Kentucky can't stop the run which fits right into Lou's hands. And I have to imagine practice wasn't pretty for the SC this week.
UTEP -4 over Hawaii Going to follow another poster here on this one. Basically Hawaii never travels well, and UTEP is improving every week.
Toledo -13.5 over Ohio Another best bet. I said it last week and still believe it, Toledo is by far the best team in the MAC, and they don't even have Marshall on the schedule to challenge them. They are blowing teams out now by scoring at will, which is fine b/c their D is still shaky. This game fits right into their hands though. Ohio is playing well, big wins over Buffalo and Kentucky were followed last week with a nail-biter loss to Marshall, which keeps the line down. But once Toledo puts points on the board, this team isn't equipped to come back, with its running game. Should be easy, get it now before you lose the half point, but I don't think it will matter.
Going to add a 3 team 10 pt tease on a few games I can't pull the trigger on as regular bets:
Cal -4 over UCLA UCLA has had a nice couple games with blow outs over SDSU and Arizona, and will hope that Cal has a letdown. No way I see that happening, but b/c of the slight possibility, I won't play it straight. Cal outplayed USC and had every chance to win, and actually moved up in the polls. They still can convince themselves they can make a big BCS bowl.

Auburn -3 over Arkansas Florida rolled in the first half vs Arkansas and Auburn should too. 13 though is a bit much to give in a what could be a shootout. Until proven otherwise, Auburn is the best in the SEC.
with
Texas -4 over Missu Should be a Texas bounce back here, against a medicore Missu team that lost to Troy and struggled with Colorado.
Close calls with Army +26 and Wisky +17 in the tease, just too many points to get with teams that are playing better and with more confidence every week.
A few more plays then I like, so be careful. I don't like that I have all favs as well. (best plays = Toledo, UNLV, and Fla St. ) Hope this helps someone, best of luck this week, and thanks to the posts last week that helped me have a solid week.
