Missouri -10.5 @ Troy St. 7:00 ET

The Tigers are coming off a big win Saturday handing Arkansas St a 32 point defeat however the Tigers did not cover the 35 pt spread. Mizzu's starting QB Smith had a good game completing 64 pct of his passes for 233 yards and 3 TD's. Last year Smith was the leading rusher for the Tigers at 1415 yards while tossing the ball for 1979, 23 yards short of becoming the first QB to pass for 2000 and rush for 1000. This year however Damien Nash wants to help out hi QB as he rushed for 126 yards and 2 TD's vs. the Indians. Both he and Woods averaged more than 5 ypr. Nash 8.4 ypr and Woods 6.5 ypr. All three receivers that touched the ball in this game scored and Mizzu pounded out 506 total yards this day. On a negative note their defense allowed 438 total yards and 350 in the air. The Tigers returned 9 defensive starters including their entire line. This was evident as they only allowed 88 rushing yards. As road favorites Mizzu was 2-2 ATS last year and 6-2 ATS overall. They did meet Troy St. in 2002 and crushed the Trojans 44-7 as 12.5 pt home favorites. During their last 64 SU wins the Tigers are 50-7 ATS. With Ball St. awaiting the Tigers next week I don't see them looking past this game.

The Trojans enter this game as 10.5 home dogs where they were 1-0 ATS in that role last year. QB Leak is going to need some help this week because he is going to face a tough Mizzu defense. Offensively the Trojans rushed for 110 yards against a weaker defensive front. Leak passed for 196 yards in their victory over Marshall. Last year Leak converted only 42.5 pct of his passes and gave up more int's than TD's 12 to 7 respectively. Last week he went 13-26-1 with NO TD's and was sacked twice. His backup McDowell completed his only passing attempt; problem was it was a Marshall player. Another issue was their special teams. Troy St. had to punt 5 times for a total of 147 yards or a 29.4 pct average. He better get it a little farther this game. The Trojans were 1-3 ATS at home last year, 12-9 ATS as dogs, 4-7 ATS off a win and 14-12 ATS vs. non-conference opponents.

I believe this game will be close, until the opening kickoff. Mizzu need to showcase themselves on a national level and this is the perfect platform.
