A decent beginning with both of the big plays winning easily. I'll add to this throughout the week.

Friday

1 unit - Florida State +3 -130 Bought the point up to +3 although I think the Seminoles win this outright. I know history is against me big time, I know the kicker always misses for Florida State, and I know Bowden loses this game every year. So why Florida State - they are better. Rix is better than Berlin, Thorpe is better than anything Miami has, the running backs are probably even although Gore does concern me. Neither defense has much returning but both just reload anyway. The big factor for me is Rix over Berlin. I am just taking the better team getting points.

as soon as i heard the bad news i thought of the players on both clemson and fsu playing their hearts out for their coaches...i am capping the clemson game very hard and looking at fla state as well...

Thanks RJP - I did not consider the Bowden news when making the play - it is also possible with the Hurricane problems - now Ivan coming in that the game may be moved again - who knows. I like FSU regardless. And I will take a look at Clemson now that you mention it.

I'm with you guys on Purdue. I love Purdue. and that's probably why I won't bet them this week. I feel I might be a little biased. Once I start to like a team too much I find ways to convice myself they can win or cover no matter the spread. I bet on them last week only because I knew Syracuse doesn't play well on Grass. I loved watching Stewart Schweigert play, he is an explosive player and was stoked when the Raiders drafted him in the 3rd round. I think he is going to be a future impact player like a Zach Thomas or Jon Lynch. One of those guys who give's his heart and soul on the football field. GL, Tom!!

I am still capping FSU/FLA, my first nod is toward FSU (considering the tragedy to the Bowden fam.)

Lost FSU last night - what can be said - Rix sucks and FSU choked.
We move on.

Adding

1 unit - Ohio +17.5 Ohio should be able to put up some points in this one as they have Hawk back at QB, they looked good last week, although it was against VMI, and Pitt is rebuilding. Panthers also facing a look ahead as they play Nebraska next week. This looks like a lot of points for Pitt to cover when their offense looks weak and Ohio is capable of scoring.

1 Unit Nebraska -14 - We will find out if Nebraska is as good as they looked last week. If the Huskers put up the points, and it looks like they will, I don't see So Miss staying close. Eagles are a very poor road dog in the past as they are 2-7 ATS the last three years. Nebraska has been pretty solid as a home favorite too going 8-3 the past couple of years. Last week was fake for Neb as they beat W. Illinois - this is the true test and a key game for Callahan.
