OK Boys and Girls!!!!!!!!! Here we go.... College Football is back!

USC/VT Under 55 (-110) [2 Units]
I'm also leaning towards VT +18, but I am still looking things over. Various handicappers had been forcasting the total for this game to be anywhere from 42 up to 60. R.A.S. recently reported that Olympic opened the total at 59.5 this morning (Tuesday). By the time I got there, it was knocked down to 55. Several ways to interpret this: A) it was a knee-jerk reaction by those already leaning towards the under, B) The sharps jumped all over a generously high total, C) Olympic is manipulating the line to give the impression that the sharps are on the under.... It's really a crapshoot.
My decision to play the under is based on several factors:
A) Defenses play better than offenses early in the season.
B) Both teams sport good defenses. Even there has been alot of turnover on VT's defense, Beamer has a history of having them ready at the beginning of the season.
C) USC holds a sizeable advantage in talent level, and should win this game. However, Fedex field will be filled with mostly VT fans, and that place can get real loud. Thie "Home-Field" advantage should help counter USC's talent advantage, at least early on.
D) 1st game of the season "butterflies" should keep the scoring to a minimum, at least through the 1st quarter.
E) VT is a run oriented team, and will most likely run the ball most of the time, unless they get behind by double digits.
Good luck to every one this season! Let's crush the books!
