I see they finally figured out who's going to start this game. CLEMENT it is! I'm taking the Cubs here. GL!

Weird game IMO. I think Schmidt can and will shut down the Cubs bats...and SF's biggest weakness (their bullpen) is not a factor in most of Schmidt's starts.

But at -150, i don't know that there's any value in it.

Plus SF pissed me off yesterday, lol. If you wanna make the wildcard, you gotta beat the Reds at home 2 of 3....and they were unable to do that. Not sure what to think of SF at this point.

GL which ever way you go.

Stif, my numbers show the Cubs are a LIVE DOG tonight. Does that mean they will win? Of course not! However, they're certianly profitable at this price, where as San Francisco is not! :bbang:

I agree with ya RJP, that if you took this same bet between these 2 teams every day over a period of time, you should be profit some with the nice sized dog.

I simply try and pick what team will win each day though and go from there...and don't really factor the long term into my plays.

I doubt i'll touch this game unless the line moves drastically one way or the other, or i can dig up some kind of convincing stat that points to one side.

Oh, and britain, i wasn't trying to steer you in either direction with my post, cause it looks like a toss up to me at the given line, but rather just wanted to add my opinion since you asked

Stif, I tried to find the 'winners' and go from there, but that just wasn't cutting it. My reasoning is that over the long haul, no matter what the game, if I maximize my chances of profit (by taking teams at higher odds then what I feel they should be), then I should profit in the long haul, which, really, is what it's all about.

Unfortunately I wasn't 'wise' enough to know Oliver would go just 1 IP last night.

lol :bbang:

Oh, and if it matters, I figure the Cubs win this matchup 53% of the time. Very close matchup, so the Cubs at that price is the only play for me, as the expectation for the Giants at that price is negative. That's like playing roulette!
