Just finished what i think the conferences will look like this year:

BIG10:
T1) OSU
T1) MICH
3)IOWA

Biggest Surprise- Iowa will be in the mix and ILLINOIS will be better than most expect...maybe 5-6 with an easy B10 road schedule
Biggest Disappointment- Michigan State will struggle weekly with a young offense and the defense will wear down by season's end

GOY: MICH @ OSU for the BIG 10 title once again (you're going down Larry)

BIG12:
North 1) MISSOURI
2) NEBRASKA/KSTATE
South 1) OKLAHOMA
2) TEXAS

Biggest Surprise- TEX A&M will get the ship pointed in the right way this year
Biggest Disappointment- KANSAS will go back to the KAN of old

GOY: OKLA/TEX (i know, mac brown sucks, but you gotta include it) and MISSOURI/KSTATE

SEC:
East 1) UGA
2) TENN
West 1) LSU
2) Auburn

Biggest Surprise- SCAR will be back in the mix this year again
Biggest Disappointment- FLA due to expectations, they will finish mid pack in the SEC

GOY: SEC Title game: UGA vs. LSU and LSU@AUBURN

ACC:
T1) FSU
T1) UVA
T3) NCST
T3) MIA

Biggest Surprise- NCST/UVA both should be exciting and explosive..this conference is wide open this year
Biggest Disappointment- VATECH..possible losing record

GOY: FSU@MIA....what a way to get the conference started...someone is gonna be in bad shape after week1 and some tough games ahead

BIG EAST:
1) WVA
2) BC
3) SYR

Biggest Surprise- UCONN
Biggest Disappointment- SYR..see paul pasqualoni

GOY: WVA/MARYLAND....not in conference but maybe WVA only loss playing in a really BAD Big East this year (and VATECH sucks)

PAC10:
1) USC
2) CAL
3) ASU

Biggest Surprise- ASU/UAZ will both exceed expectations
Biggest Disappointment- WASH will struggle again this year

GOY: USC/CAL

MAC: (Overall)
1) TOLEDO
2) MIA (oh)
3) MARSHALL

Biggest Surprised- Kent State
Biggest Disappointment- MARSHALL way overhyped, not the talent from previous years and a tough schedule

GOY: Pick one..lol..

MWC:
1) UTAH
2) SDSU
3) UNLV

Biggest Surprise- SDSU/UNLV...a couple of GREAT spread teams early IMO as they are sure to be undervalued
Biggest Disappointment- CSU

GOY: UTAH/SDSU

Nice write up FF. Can't see anything that I totally disagree with. I definitely think VA is going to make some noise in the ACC this year.

Shark- THX...i saw your writeup and we seem to agree on a few of these teams. I really can't wait for the first couple of weeks when you can fade some of these overrated teams, and nail some sleepers if you've done your homework correctly. My 2 favorite conferences to bet are the MAC and the BIG10.

larry- actually MICH is going to have maybe the best secondary in the country this year. B10 should be really interesting. Get my email address from Kev if you can and email me. I have a couple of questions for you. Going to be back in AA for the MICH game vs. SDSU and i haven't been back there since the late 80's. Taking some buddies back that went to SDSU. Wanted to run a couple things by you. Thx.

Looking for PLAY ON and PLAY AGAINST teams in the first 2-3 weeks of the season.....teams where the line hasn't had a chance to adjust to THIS season....VALUE basically

Would love feedback here.....

My early list:

PLAY ON:

UARIZONA- team will be much improved under stoops...you will see how much coaching in CFB matters

ASU- picked as low as 9th in the PAC10, will finish 3rd IMO and some sharp preview opinions...great value early, especially in a HOME revenge game vs. IOWA where they may be a dog.

UVA- expected to be decent, but should surpass expectations

MIA (oh)- lost rothlesberger, but returns an AWESOME defense and most of its skill players

KENT ST.- if cribbs plays this season, they will put points up with the best of them...another off the radar team

TEX A&M- should be much improved on defense and offense

SDSU- a top 10 defense of last year with almost everyone returning on offense and defense. will battle UTAH for the MWC title....great coach in Tom Kraft, they will battle ever week, and i think this is the season they turn the corner (will beat UCLA and may play MICH tougher than most think)

UNLV- according to VEGAS sources, this is the best UNLV team robinson has had since he got there. not much respect early from the prognosticators/media mensings.

TEX TECH- i think this team will give some people fits again this year in the B12....don't know if they can stop anyone as usual, but they should put up points in bunches...not much respect here either from the media

CAL- scores enough points to cover numbers and is never out of games. solid football team that may be undervalued to start the season

VANDY- sneaky here...they return a TON of guys and this team kind of came together towards the end of last year. good value in VANDY if they can come out and play the way they did last year. DUKE was in this position last year with everyone coming back and went out 0-7 or something like that to start, so stay tuned here

TEAMS to FADE:

FLA- not sold on Zook or his team....i think there will be value in betting against them week in and week out

BOWLINGGREEN- lost QB Harris that made that offense go. unlike MIA(oh), they don't have as much coming back. this isn't the BG team of the last couple years. lets see if VEGAS adjusts accordingly

MARSHALL- not the MAR team of old here. Tough games vs. UGA, OHIO ST. and a tough TROY st. team..may start out 0-3. May be worn down by mid season and a good fade down the stretch. Value betting against them if the lines reflect "MARSHALL" and not this marshall team

TEX- big games, i will fade TEX until Macbrown shows he can win one

CLEMSON- not sold on bowden and his tigers. They may take it one the chin a couple of times early and not recover. games vs. FSU, TEX A&M and UVA may all be losses. possible great fade team.

VA TECH- think the hokies come up short this year. Not up there with past hokie teams....see if the lines reflect that

Would welcome any thoughts here!! Thanks and GL!

FlyersFan....Looks Great Bro..Nice...!!

Thor's Thoughts:

Vandy: Watch for them to be the Cover Team..Like Rutgers in 2003..for this Yr..Will Win more games and will play alot more of the Fav Teams Close....

Virginia: This Team will make Noise in the ACC..Get Clem..Mary..and Miami at home...Flor St away...Vtech will be weaker..See 9-2 team at end of YR

Memphis: Returns 11 on a Great O side of ball..will need to Rebuilt D a little But Joe Lee Dunn will have them ready...

Cal: SOLID..See 10-1 team with loss to USC (close but payback game for USC)..Tedford Great O mind Coach and Has the Team to Put up alot of Pts..

Hawaii: Will put Pts on the Board and Return 10 on the O side..

Rutgers: Will be a Great cover team again in 2004..Have 9 back on O and They don't get much Respect from Odd makers..

Minnesota: Solid Team that can put up Big O numbers and a Hard team to Beat at Home...

Utah: In 2003 Utes were 10-2 ATS Including Bowl game..Look for them to Cover vs Tex A M on 9/2 and win the Mt West Conf..

Down Year Teams:

Va Tech: Will be have a Hard time this Year in ACC and will struggle toward the end of the Yr like last Year with 3 Straight Losses to Mary..Va and Miami....I Live in WV but only 40 minutes from VT and They will have a Bad Yr..

Florida: Was 8-5 last Yr and Lost alot of Starters..Just 5 back on O and 4 on D..Look for SEC upset of Yr on 11/6 when they Play at Vandy..

I'll Add More Later....FylersFan...Your on The West Coast and I'm on The East Coast..Keep this Up and We will Meet in The Middle...LOL..

Is it Time for FOOTBALL or What..????

In these conference breakdowns I was disappointed b/c I didn't see CUSA in there. This conference is gaining power with teams such as Louisville - A great offensive power, Cincy-Good defense and a great QB, S. Miss- Outstanding Defense and a new up and coming QB Deangelo, and even though im a fan of them I have a great feeling <Memphis> will win CUSA. Wimprine at QB is great despite a few games with interceptions and the Deangelo Williams get used to that name. He may try for the pros after this junior year sad to say. WR Gideon has been compared by many to Randy Moss but he suffered a broken collar bone injury last season forceing him to sit out the whole time, but He is BACK!!!! I would just like to here yalls outlooks on any CUSA teams if you have any on them. Go Tigers!!!

Thor- nice!! i forgot all about HAW....agree big time on VANDY, VA TECH, FLA and UVA. I will be fading the guys from your neck of the woods, MARSHALL big time this season. Look forward to more from you.

Dusey- yeah, you know i have been kicking around CUSA. My main off the radar conference that i ususally knock dead every year is the MAC. I haven't been able to get a read on CUSA teams, especially last year, because they can be so up and down from week to week. I agree on MEM this year, they will be solid.

GL to everyone!!
