Playoff Record: At this point...it doesn't matter...it was pretty good before I lost $3700 in my last 2 plays....I'll update it after this one...if anyone wants to really know look at my last post for game 4
Ok...at this point if you can't already tell, I'm pretty pissed about the last 2 games....I really felt LA was the play both games...that was not betting with my heart....for Game 5...well this one's a different story...I'll call it like it is....this one I'm just betting on my team....fuk everything else....my bankroll had grown to around 9K before the last 2 losses....and now it's sitting right at around 5K with a few baseball losses thrown in there...I'm not gonna throw the whole thing on this one....but it's gonna be close...if I go out, I'm going out with a bang....the way i figure it...i can try to make this back betting on baseball all season long, but i really don't enjoy baseball....this is my sport...
Call me stupid, stubborn..whatever, but I refuse the believe the Pistons are that much of a better team than the Lakers that they can sweep these 3 games in Detroit....I say LA wins this one and the series shifts back to Hollywood....this series is not over on Tuesday night...if it is...i'm done gambling until football season...if it's not....i've made back what i've lost in these last 2 games and then some....i'm betting that history does not get made tonight...no team has won the middle 3 games of a 2-3-2 format in the finals...and it's not happening tonight....not with the Lakers....and I'm betting more than half my bankroll on this one!
LAKERS ML (+150)

First off Holy Shit MAN. I will definetly give you major props for putting your balls on the line. You are truly going to live and die by your boys. I know there is no stopping you here and I would like to be the first to wish you very good luck. I honestly don't see an LA win, but that is why they play the game and you never know what could happen. I still haven't made any bets on the game, but am pretty much all in on Detroit. GL nonetheless.

bk, if you like LA to win straight up, aren't you gonna play the OVER as well? I, for one, like the OVER in this game. LA will play desperate & do anything to get points (if they shoot better, that is)

Bookiekilla,
Even tho I am a die hard Laker fan, I pretty much cut out the emotions when my money is on the line. However, I totally understand your frustration with the Lakers and just want to wish you the best of Luck. I really dont want this series to be over just yet. I will post my pick tommorow if I decide to wage.
GL to you!!!!!!!!

good luck book
i am locked in on the pistons already on the motown sweep
but
i would take the three pts may even get 3' some places
i think it's a better bet and you only want to win the bet
la may lose a close one 1 or 2 pts and you still cover and collect the $ rather than blow the whole wad
just a suggestion
gl whatever ya do

I haven't been posting my picks lately but I've bet on Detroit every single game these finals so far. I'm a die hard Laker fan......but I've been taking advantage of their complacency.......I can't pull myself to bet on Detroit tonight.......it just seems sureal. The Lakers can't lose like this?????? can they????? My Laker pride says hell no......we can't bow down to these guys like this. I've seen Milwaukee....New Jersey.......and Indiana blow Motown out of the water in Detroit....the Lakers aren't capable????? I think they are capable of a win......and aint no tommorow if they play half ass. I'll bet my bank roll on a fired up Laker squad tonight. Lets go down in a hail of bullets and smoke if its gonna happen Bookie......I'm riding big time.

Regardless of momentum, here are some facts-
- Seven teams have had a 3-1 lead in the NBA playoffs since the 2-3-2 format was instilled. In GAME 5, home teams (Pistons, in this situation) have a combined record of 2-5 (compare to 8-6 in Game 4). However, ALL 7 teams have gone on to win the SERIES.
Will be back later to decide on wager. GL to all today.

Book- pulling for you big time tonight, but lets get real. Kobe has been a black hole. Shaq has been getting single coverage and has been shooting about 70%, yet they won't throw him the ball. Smart teams and coaches say, we are going to do something everytime until you stop it. Laker philosophy says feed shaq a couple of times and then it's jack up horrible shot time for long periods. What makes you think they will go to their strength tonight vs. in past games? Game4 was a must win and that didn't make a difference. Kobe is too stubborn and has too much pride to play the team game. I expect him to shoot about 65 times tonight and probably connect on about 4 of those shots. Payton couldnt' guard the oldest guy in a senior home, malone is hurt and fisher and george have stunk it up big time. I think DET finishes this thing off. I hope that i am wrong, though, and that you cash the bet. BOL tonight!!

Thanks fellas!
Flyers and to that matter anyone else that has had questions as to why I've made this play and why it's such a big play....like I said...this one has no logic, analysis behind it....yes detroit has outhustled the lakers and outplayed them in every aspect of the game these first 4 games....but like I said...this is me betting from my heart....and usually these bets don't win...but this is a bet I have to make....Detroit doesn't make history tonight...we're going back to LA for Game 6!

"my bankroll had grown to around 9K before the last 2 losses."
How much did you start your Bankroll with (Not winnings but your Own Money) if you dont mind me asking..
I am with you on this pick..
Analysis would say that Detroit will Win this Game...
But My Gut Feelings are with L.A. on this One...
I am not Guaranteeing an L.A. win But I think L.A. will go down Fighting..
I am just Beginning My Bankroll @ $500 dollars... But I am putting $200 on lakers at +150
This is My gut feelings too.. No Analysis... BOL though...

Bookie...I'm pulling for you on monetary reasons only!!! I want you to win some serious cash! I LOVE the Lakers in this position! Three in a row will not be done.....
Other than that....Pistons have to win! I have no use for the Lakers!

Bookie, won't be watching the game tonight but I will be pulling for you even though I can't stand the Lakers. No I hate the Lakers, is that more clear for you ? lol I hope you take it to the man and when the Lakers win you heard this here first. If the Lakers win tonight they will be going home to wrap up the series. Thats right, they will win the series and break yet another record or streak. You heard it here first. I am stuck between a rock and a hard spot as I want you to win the money yet I want the Lakers to get rolled. This is what I call a must win for the Pistons as they don't want to go back to LA and try to win one more on the road. This is amust win for the Pistons and that scares the crap out of me. Son is playing in tournament so I will be watching the most important thing in my life... I hope you win bud and that is hard for me to say considering the who you are pulling for... GL Bro...
im on the fakers also, why not take the +3 pts and bet 4K
im thinking its gonna be a close game and its gonna be tight ..
Best of luck to all the fakers backers :gulp:

Not going to go all out like Bookiekilla, but will bet on history-
1. No team has won middle 3 straight.
2. Home teams in game 5 of NBA finals have a record of 2-5 ever since 2-3-2 format.
Going to go with LA ML +140 (as of 5:18pm PST), risking only a unit. GL folks!!!!!!!!
