I Have A Question About Soccer Anyone?

I am looking at the line on Spain and Russia and on the spreadline spain is -0.5 -150.......... then under MONEYLINE Spain is -150

My question is, how can it be???? Why would someone want to lay 0.5 run -150, when they can bet the MONEYLINE -150 and not lay 0.5 runs???? I am totally confused.

This is the 1st time I have looked at a soccer line in my life. I just don't get it.

The reason that -0.5 and moneyline are the same value, is because most books count a tie as a loss even if you played the moneyline.

Example:

Portugal -200
Greece +600
DRAW +240

now because the DRAW is offered if the game ties you do not push but you would LOSE instead.

So for +0.5 and -0.5 , there is only value in the +0.5 should you like the DOG or the DRAW.

In soccer the handicapping is called Asian Handicap which is different from regular handicap.
