Taking my family to Vegas and I was wondering where to take them and what you think is worth a look see. My boys are 10 and 20 years old and I am also going with my sisters and their family's. We planned on going to the Grand Canyon but what else would you do with your 4 days in Vegas ? Appreciate any input and please don't get to graphic as Vegas offers far beyond most peoples wild dreams. Any help appreciated. GL

Definitely take them to the Stratosphere. You need to ride the
Big Shot on top, if you have the stones. I almost got off before
it launched, but a couple of 12 year olds climbed on, and I would
of felt like a big wimp. The coaster at New York, New York is fun.
Shark tank at Mandalay. Hoover damn is pretty cool. Pirate ship
at Treasure Island. You will not have any problem finding stuff that they love. They will have a blast ! Im jealous. Have fun.
good luck and have a blast steel.....you will have to try to not find something to do to not find something to do.....
larry....congrats on your pending fatherhood!!
rooster.....how's 'bout our gamecocks making it to the super regional.....better be a friggin cakewalk through E. Carolina to get to Omaha.....especially playing at home in the thriving metropolis we know as Columbia!!

Thanks so much for the ideas. Keep them coming as my wife and I are going to sit down and pick what we think will be the best for the family. I am going with my sisters and their family's also. Funny thing is we had a lot of what is listed above already on the list. Appreciate any and all input. Wish I could meet a few of you over there. Now that would be fun !! I know one person who is going to get a special visit from me and that should set him back in his seat. lol... Keep the ideas coming. Thanks

I have been so many times, I truly love Vegas! Take them to Treasure Island for the big pirate show. Then to MGM to see the lion exhibit. then to New York, New York for the boardwalk themed park, complete w/ games and I think a few rides! Then as someone metioned take them to the Stratosphere for the ride of their life!
Stratosphere has a great view of Vegas at night! Also, the Bellagio has the fountains that put on a great show, like every 20-30 minutes. Trust me once you get there you will find things to do

Well I don't know about all the happiness mentioned above. To me that's about as exciting as watching corn grow. Sit your butt down at the roullette table at Circus Circus and bet on BLACK 6!!! Bank it Dano!!!

Can't say that I play much Roulette but I will surely spend my time at the craps table. Appreciate all input. We have a list of things to do so I know that we won't run out of stuff. Sleep may be a problem... lol... I just want everyone's opinion of what is a must see. Thanks.. GL

I suggest checking out the local shows. The amazing jonathon isnt as funny as most make it out to be, then again mabye Im a hard sell for a laugh.
Id suggest checking out the shows, mabye even have the 20 yr old babysit the 10 yr old one night and take the old lady out to see Celene Dion. Im not a huge fan of hers, but have heard from many that went that it was surely worth seeing.
As far as sportsbooks, im sorry but I think Treasure Islands is the best. Comfy, they bring ya beers often, and nice dim lighting.
Theres a jewish deli inside there that serves up the best damn corned beef samiches you can ever imagine. Call me crazy, but I even enjoyed the burps they put out.
The wife will probably wanna hit up caesars and all the shops. Find something to do during that time, boring shit!
have fun man

Hey steel, get online and punch up maps of the states you are looking at and then certain areas of the map or regions they show, from there you will find all kinds of great things to go see. I was looking for a city in texas one night and by the time I got finished I was wanting to take a trip. Hope that helps and if you need some more help with it I will be glad to assidt, just give me a holler in the MLB forum, I am there every day.

Yes, Treause Island treated us very well. We went during football season, placed a wager, then left for the rest of the night. We came back as soon as we won, we stepped through the front door, and BAM! security came and got us, said, "mr. ___ we have been waiting for you" and escorted us. Man, I felt special!:yeah:

Yo Steel. This is a must while your there. Go to Mandalay Bay sports book during the race on Sunday. If they do not have the race on the big screen, and they got plenty of them, and have it on the little monitor behind the ticket counter, ask them why they don't have the race on one of the big screens. When he answers, just walk away LOL. DO NOT say another word.

LOL, not sure. I was there to meet up with BobbyB and Kevin so when they started hollerin' at me after I asked them,I shut up and walked away. But I gurantee you one thing, when I go back in Sept, I'm makin' it my job to ask them again. A guy I don't know came over and was watchin the race with me (at the end of the counter) and he asked me why. I said ask that guy right there. After the guy started hollerin' at him he looked at me and I was LMFAO. He started laughing and we had a good time watchin' the race after that. Never met the guy before that but him and I had a great time talking about how fkn rude they were. and they don't fkn bring you but one beer per bet ticket. FK them mthrfkrs.

Well Steel we had a great time. We were there with 5 other couples so that made 12 people and I swear there were 12 different personalities! Hadn't met some of the people before, but I swear when we left the 12 of us made a pact to do it every year. We didn't have kids with us but a few of the people I was with rode the roller coaster at New York New York, and said it was fun. We went and saw Danny Gans at the Mirage at $100 a ticket and it was the worst $200 I spent while I was there. He is an impressionist and I although he did some good ones I just didn't think any of it was funny. I also placed a bet at the Mirage for game 4 of the NBA Finals they gave me 2 drink tickets and I swear if I had made a point to use both I would have been there for 12 hrs, that's how slow the wait staff is in that place. Other than that we did a lot of gambling hit a few cool bars and did the mornings by the pool at the house we were staying at. Greatest town in the world if ya ask me, I havn't been many places, but I don't think anything would change me mind. Have fun!!!!!!!

Larry, I leave today for Vegas and I am ready to get away. The only way I can get away from my work is to leave town. We have a lot to do while we are there. Glad you had a good time and I will make sure not to go see Danny Gans. I will spend a lot of time on the Crap tables but I also want to see Hoover Dam at night time so that will pull me away from the tables for a while. Thanks so much for the update. It would be fun to set up a trip of people from UC. Everyone meets in Vegas and then all hell breaks out. Will let you know what I think when I get back. Glad you got home safe. GL
