Outright plays (1.5pts):

Chad Campbell to win 25/1 available generally
Campbell should be looking to put the disappointment of losing out on the Colonial to Steve Flesch behind him this week, though he should take some comfort from the fact that he had not been in contention for a title since winning the Bay Hill Invitational in March. Last year he finished in the top-10 and was ranked first in greens in regulation so he has mastered this course and could be the man to profit from the jetlag of so many of the other leading players.

Stewart Cink to win 33/1 e.w. @ SkyBet, Bet365 and BetInternet
Cink finished alongside Campbell in 6th place last year, but had been only a shot behind Perry after 36 holes and before the very cold and windy conditions over the weekend. Add that to finishes of 9th and 4th in the previous two years and Cink appears to certainly have an eye for this course. In good form, I'll back him each-way as the best odds of 6/1 for a top-5 place seems a little short.

Jay Haas to finish in the top-ten 9/1 @ Paddy Power
There are two very good reasons to stay away from Haas this week. He competed in a (Senior) major last week and the event finished on Monday. But on the other hand, he does have excellent course and current form. He has played here in each of the last 26 years and missed the cut only twice. In that time he has also had eight top-10 finishes. In terms of his general form, he has four top-10 finishes from ten PGA Tour starts this year and had seven from twenty-one last year. This makes odds of 9/1 look extremely large!

Matchup plays (1.5pts unless stated):

Stephen Ames to beat Craig Parry -125 @ BetandWin [3pts]
Huge difference in form between these two players. Parry has missed three cuts in his last four starts; Ames has finished no worse than 7th in his last four. He did finish one stroke behind Parry on his debut on this course last year, but will improve now that he has course experience. Parry has missed five of seven cuts on this course so he has a lot of improving to do.

Retief Goosen to beat Kenny Perry -114 @ Centrebet
Perry does have a good record in this event, but he is far from the form that he displayed in the middle of last summer. Goosen can also boast good form at Muirfield Village and while he has also been missing cuts this year, he has been finishing much higher up the leaderboard when he does not.
(also available at Five Dimes and Bet365)

Zach Johnson to beat John Rollins -111 @ BetandWin
Johnson has a 8-1-0 h2h lead this year over Rollins who has made only two of thirteen cuts. Nothing more needs to be said!
(also available at Nordicbet)

Stephen Leaney to beat Scott McCarron -111 @ BetandWin
Top-35 in his last three starts and on this course last year reads a lot better than McCarron's failure to make the cut in each of his last four events and in each of his last five visits to Muirfield Village.

Nick Price to beat Justin Rose -111 @ BetandWin
This is a shotmaker's course that requires experience and Price certainly fits the bill. He hasn't played here for a number of years, but is in good form and should certainly finish in the top-25. Will be more of a struggle for Rose who is making is debut and was competing in the Volvo PGA Championship last week. Not ideal preparation and his unpredictable form since the Masters is likely to continue this week.

I LOVE the Memorial. I live about an hour and a half away. I've gone the last few years....going to see professional golf live is such a great time. I'll be heading up to Dublin on Sunday to check out the final round. Hope to see some drama.

As for my picks....

I took Campbell at 20, Harrington at 25, Cink at 30 and while I don't normally do this...I took Tiger for a few units at 3.75. While those are horrible odds, I just have a feeling Tiger comes to play this weekend. Tiger loves the Muirfield Village, having won there 3 times in a row. And I know he likes winning Jack's tournament. So while I've made a killing normally taking the field minus Tiger, Vijay, Ernie and Phil, I just have this gut feeling that Tiger gets it done this weekend.

Tourney matchups
Campbell over Garcia -115
Haas over Triplett -130 (semi trailing you on this one)

GL luck this weekend. I'll be remembering your picks while up at the tourney. If you pick a winner for the tourney, I'll raise my glass to ya!:gulp:

Hi Dwayne, looked promising with Els for a while

Outrights - Final update: 1-2; +10.50pts

Campbell 24th
Cink 40th
Haas 8th

Well done to Paddy Power for introducing top-ten betting! Haas never looked like getting into the top-5 and finished four shots shy of that mark, but he was around the top-10 throughout the event. Not so good from the other two, but still a healthy profit on the event.

Matchups - Final update: 3-2-0; +2.63pts

Ames/Parry WON by 18
Goosen/Perry LOST by 3
Johnson/Rollins WON by 2
Leaney/McCarron WON by 2
Price/Rose LOST by 14

Decent profit on the matchups thanks largely to a win on the double-play. Ames contrived to finish outside the top-5, but still kept up his run of great form to win easily against Parry.
