Possible Solution Re: Smooth44

I haven't posted here in a while...not since college hoops, where I'm still glowing about the run my beloved Xavier Musketeers made in the NCAA tourney.

I do, however, come to this site nearly every day to see what the consistently good and "hot" cappers think about the NBA playoffs, NHL playoffs and some MLB. I still think this site is just tremendous...but I can't stand it when this stuff happens with Smooth and Top, etc.

Now, I will not comment on who I think is right or wrong here, because truth be told, I don't understand everything that goes on. I learned a LONG time ago not to comment on things you don't know or understand. But, like I said, I think the entire situation is unfortunate...and maybe a little silly. The unfortunate part is that one of the most popular and well respected (whether the mods, veterans, etc. agree or not) cappers on this forum is now banned....and whether certain people here like it or not, that ultimately undercuts the main purpose of this forum...to exchange picks, info and make some money. Smooth, along with many others, certainly helps achieve that goal...and I think the majority of posters here would agree with that.

Neither here nor there, I thought I could maybe use my mediation skillz to come up with a solution. Why doesn't someone on this forum who knows Smooth well, just have Smooth email his picks to them. That person, who is not banned, can post Smooth's picks. People can then see Smooth's picks, and they can give him his props and comment in that thread. Smooth can certainly come in here, not as a member, and see what people have to say and he can see that his picks and info are appreciated.

The discussion and "thanks" and interaction between Smooth and other posters won't happen, but Smooth's picks can still be posted and people can still read them and choose to tail or fade Smooth as they see fit.

Would/Could that work?

Hey Larry...FAH Q. Its replies like yours that bring this forum down. Am I getting ready to slit my wrists over this? No. Just trying to offer a solution...in case you haven't read, if you can read, some people here aren't happy about what has gone on about this subject.

I just thought I'd try to offer a solution...sorry for trying to help...you don't have to worry, you AWESOME veteran member with all those posts, about me anymore. God forbid a member of this forum try to offer a constructive solution.

I definitely miss not getting smooth's opinions on the NBA. The forum needs good cappers more than good cappers need the forum from a business standpoint. So it seems logical to me they wouldn't go around banning decent cappers for no reason. On the other side of the coin, I'm surprised smooth was banned. I've been a member since this past winter and he never struck me as disruptive or being discordial to anyone.

However, life goes on. I know for a short time there, there was so much drama on the NBA side - it took 10 minutes just to sort through all the BS just to find a damn pick. So if smooth comes back - I'll read his picks - if he doesn't... BOL to him and if the mods are suppossed to learn a lesson from it - I guess they will.

Now let's talk about the damn games!

O.K. I've read all the replies and this is pretty much what I have to say to everyone on this forum...Its long...so it may not be for everyone (however, it may take as long to read as it takes to watch The Wizard of Oz, Yo) Oh, and here's a quote...or maybe its a paraphraze...but one of these days maybe you'll be "hoisted by your petard."

I started coming to this forum in Oct/Nov of last year. Everyone seemed to get along and share opinions in a friendly manner. During basketball season, I started noticing a lot of bickering. Things about picks, posted records, etc....I never really understood why anyone cared...I mean, everyone here should be adults, and if you follow someone's picks and get burned, it should be your own fault....whether or not you get suckered by false advertising or not. For god's sake, this is the internet on an anonymous forum...if you get suckered, who is really to blame? You! So I never really got why everyone got so worked up over stolen picks or slightly misquoted records...this is a gambling site....its not like the entire subject matter itself is steeped in wholesomeness.

However, I chose to continue to come here and not take sides or reply on the subject. Finally today, after reading responses from some really good cappers and people who contribute a lot to this forum (RSxxxx, WarDogs, etc. ), I thought I would offer my two cents and try to offer a solution. A solution that would satisfy the Smooth fans and also recognize that he is banned. If nobody would have responded, I would have let it go. Why? Because if nobody responds, its not that big a deal. Instead, I get a few dickhead replies. People who, instead of ignoring my post, they decide to be rude. Well, I'm going to defend myself. As a member of a forum message board that I really like, I try to offer a solution, and I get responded to by insults and talks of a tissue...well, I have to wonder if this site is really that great or its run by 12 year olds.

Long and short, I really like a lot of things about this forum. One of the things I don't like...is that if you try to help, you get chastised. Hey Yo, I got a great idea for you and your tissue....you can use it to wipe your mouth after you toss my salad...I prefer syrup.

I have done nothing but try to help something (this forum) that I really like. I don't like being treatly rudely by veteran members and moderators. Try to grasp this...I'm an adult. And if I choose to tail Smooth and he's a fraud...that's my own fuckin' problem. Who is everyone who bashes Smooth trying to protect? The gullible gambler....well, fuck em. Its their own fault. Let them deal with it. This site does not guarantee that all posters post their records 100%. That would be great. But that's not fuckin' reality. Let the members make their own choices and sleep in their own fuckin' beds. We're not children here.

If I'm banned, so be it. I have done nothing but appreciate this board. Pure and simple, its bullshit that I simply tried to help and was treated rudely....by a Mod nonetheless.

Yo, I completely agree with your quote about following or taking up for a fool...my question is this...why don't you let the adults on this board choose who they want to follow? Personally, my foolishness won me some money tailing Smooth. I also lost some money tailing him...but I didn't blame him or this site....it was my choice.

I have posted nothing but picks, analysis and props to other posters. Today, I try to help. My solution may not have been the anwer, but I get ripped on. That is bullshit. The most amazing thing is that its not like I fretted over Smooth being banned...I just tried to help.

I would think your role as Mod would require some discretion. Instead, you act like a juvenile. Read my post, it actually deals with more issues than "Captain Petard" and Star Treck....its called Hamlet, its a play...by an author named Shakespeare....it doesn't have pictures, nor is it on t.v. with romulans and vulkans.

He really not that far from you right now. He is over on Moncove Lake on the WV/VA line. It's not a big Lake just a little ole lake, but the state has put some money in to it and it's a nice quiet place. So get on 64 and get off Callahan exit just past Covington VA and follow road up to WV/VA line go 8 mile past state line and turn right at Moncove Lake sign.
