Well we are a little over 2 weeks away from the start of the Euro 2004 Championships. A few teams are getting in there last second tuneups before the start of the tourney. There are a bunch of matches within the next 3 days so I'll be posting my picks and feelings about the matches.

Friendly Pics
Sweden (+125) Over Finland (home) (W) ( SWEDEDN WON 3-1)
Sweden features a much more dynamic team then Finland. The Fins failed to qualify for the Euro Championships this year in a group they probably should have had more success in. Sweden features a team that is considered by most to be a darkhorse squad that will give everyone fits on the pitch in the Euros. In Swedens last match they lead Portugal almost the entire way but gave up a late goal on a header to finish in a 2-2 tie. Although they should have won the game I'm sure Sweden was happy with a tie against one of the favorites to win the Championship. According to the FIFA rankings Sweden sits at 21 while Finland is at 42. Finland features a couple of quality players but none of the talent that the Swedes feature. Sweden has been rejoicing over the return of Larsson out of retirement. Not sure whether he'll play today but the team seems to be inspired by his return. Sweden has a bit of the injury bug in the backfield with a late injury to Svensson and Mjablly (he's expected to play vs Finland). The injuries and the fact the game is at Finland worries me a bit and the obvious chance at a tie but I'll take my chances with the better squad at some nice value.
Opinions:
France Over Andorra- The odds are just absolutely ridiculous in this type of match. I expect France to steamroll right over Andorra in this game. Not a play for me but i would be nuts if i didn't think France would win. (FRANCE WON 4-0)
Good Luck to All!!!!

Solid 3-1 victory by Sweden!!! Thanks Sweden!!! They definetly did what they were supposed to in that game. They lead 2-1 at the break and didn't have a let down like the Portugal game and some others. France also took care of business over Andorra winning 4-0. Anyways I'll be back later with some pics for tomorrow's contests and most likely I'm going to put some on Werder Bremen vs Aachen-The German Cup Final. Werder Bremen is the elite of the German league while Aachen is a Division 2 German squad.

German Cup Finals
May 29th
Werder Bremen (-271) Over Aachen (W) (WB WON 3-2)
Werder Bremen meets Aachen in the German Cup Finals. Bremen has the chance to be the fourth team in the Budesliga history to win both the league title and cup title. Bremen comes from Division I and they had quite the season winning the title by 2 games. They ran off 23 straight victories before falling in the last 2 contests which were both meaningless games as they had already clinched the title. Besides the last two losses and some player problems with bonuses there head coach feels comfortable that they will be prepared and ready to face Aachen in the championship. Aachen comes into this game on what should be a high reaching the final as a Division II and an upset agains Bayern Munich in the quaters. But that is not so. A lost last week cost them a chance to move up to Division I next season. Sounds like a decent blow to an up an coming squad. I fully expect Bremen to bounce back after the recent losses to better quality teams. Even though Aachen upset Bayern M I expect Bremen to be well prepared to win the Cup.
Note: Just two teams from Division II history have ever won the German Cup Final....Once in 1992 and another time back in the early 70's.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Holland (-200) Over Belgium (Home Team) (L) (Belguim won 1-0)
First off I'll state this I'm a fan of Holland and always have been. They are as talented of a team as any but always seem to dissapoint. In the Euro Championship they will either exit early or they will be a team no one wants to face. That being said lets get onto today's match. Once again this match features a team that's preparing for the Euro Championship while the other team is preparing for 2006 World Cup qualifying. Holland enters this match 2-0-1 in friendly's this season with wins over the US and Greece (Greece was on a 13 win streak which was snapped by the Orange) and managed a tie vs France. Last time Holland met Belgium was back in August of 2003 and that game ended in a 1-1 tie. Holland is currently ranked 4th in the FIFA rankings while Belgium sits in 17th. Belgium comes in after being dissapointed by not making this years Euros. It hasn't helped much in friendly's either as they've lost there three friendly's to France, Germany and Turkey. They gave up 7 goals in the three matches while managing just two themselves. Both teams have solid players on both sides. In the last meeting between Holland and Belgium, Holland was trying to deploy a new attacking strategy which according to there coach said they did absolutely everything wrong in that game. Well the new strategy worked to perfection in the last match versus Greece as they managed a 4-0 domination over a team that had ripped off 13 wins in a row. I fully expect this to be a competitive match. Despite who's playing I would think Holland would take care of business in preparation for the Euro's. I was thinking of throwing something on the tie line but I'll take the shot with Holland coming away with it.
Opinions:
Portugal Over Luxemborg- no contest in terms of talent. Portugal is one of the favorites to win the Euro Cup and they should handle them pretty easily. Odds are ridicilous in this match and they should be. (Portugal won 3-0)
Croatia Over Slovakia - Croatia should win this. They never win pretty but they should get by one of there rivals. Once again a matchup of a team that's preparing for the Euros while the other is watching. Game has some ? marks i think there is a shot for a tie in this game but Croatia should beat them as they are the better team. (Croatia won 1-0)
Turkey Over Thailand - no contest here...Turkey's odds are high and they should be. Turkey wins.
Nigeria tie Ireland - No real opinion on this match. Should be a good game but I think I'll guess a tie in this contest as both teams are pretty even and neither are really playing for any preparation..Nigeria preparing for Africans Cup and Ireland for World Cup qualifying 2006 (Nigeria won 3-0)
Greece Over Poland - should be a good game with two quality sides playing. Poland didn't make it to the Euros while Greece ripped off 13 straight wins before a defeat to Holland. Stay with the hotter squad in that contest and the one that is making preparations. (Poland won 1-0)

Got a solid win from Werder Bremen as they hung onto a win 3-2 and become the 4th team in Bundesliga history to win the German Cup and League Title in the same year. I wish i could have gotten the same result from Holland. When are they going to learn than Ruud Van Nistelrooy needs to be in the game and not a late game substitution. A beligian penalty shot did them in at the 78 the minute of the match. Tough loss that was. On to tomorrow.

International Friendly's
Japan (-111) Over Iceland (W) (Japan won 3-2)
Japan meets Iceland in England in what is a 3 team round robin tourney or basically a preparation for Englands matches at Euro 2004. Japan enters this game with a few question marks due to some recent injuries by a few of it's stars. But Japan is a very sound technical team and always find a way to play well. Japan is currently ranked 25th in the FIFA rankings and enter 1-1 in Friendly's this season with an impressive 1-0 defeat of the Czech Republic (8th in rankings) but a 3-2 loss vs Hungary (68th). Iceland comes in 56th in the rankings and they are 2-3-1 in friendly's this season with a 2-1 loss to Albania (91) and a 0-0 tie vs Latvia (52). I'm a bit worried about the injury factor to Japan in this match but this isn't a high price for a quality team. I expect this to be a tight match as Japan will never beat anyone soundly. 1-0 or a 2-1 game is what I see. But if i was smart i would put something on the tie line. I hate the tie line and only play that in certain circumstances. I'll stick with Japan as i think someone like Kobu will step up again like he did vs the Czech's.
Wales (-227) Over Canada (W) (Wales won 1-0)
Wales will be featuring a nearly full squad for a home return vs Canada with Ryan Giggs returning but the Welsh will be without Koumas for the match. Wales is a bit dissapointed over the failed attempt to qualify for the Euro's. Wales sits at 2-0-1 in friendly's this year and are currently ranked 66th in the world. They managed wins over Scotland (63) and Hungary (68) but only managed a tie vs Norway (36). This is Canada's first friendly of the year. In their last two friendly's back i nNovermber they got blitzed by the Czech Republick 5-1 and by Ireland 3-0. Canada is bringing one of it's most experienced teams to Wales as most of the players play for Division I teams across Europe. Canada currently ranks 93rd in the world. It's definetly a high juice game with a couple of ? marks but the return home for Wales should be enough to push them by a team that they are better then.
Denmark (-182) Over Estonia (originally 1 unit added a 2nd) (L) (Denmark tied 2-2)
Denmark will use this match in preparation for Group play in the Euro Championship. The Danes come ranked 14th in the world and are 2-1-1 in Friendly's this year with wins over Turkey (7) and Scotland (63) a loss to Spain (3) and a tie versus the US (8). Estonia comes in failing to qualify for the Euro's. They come in ranked 71st in the world and are currently 1-2-1 in friendlys. They beat Moldova (104) Moldova and Belarus, lost to Northern Ireland (114) and Scotland (63) and they managed a tie versus Albania (91). Denmark is clearly the best squad in this match. They should get by Estonia in this one.
I MIGHT ADD ANOTHER UNIT TO DENMARK BUT WILL WAIT FOR RESULTS ON THE OTHER TWO MATCHES AS THEY ARE EARLIER IN THE MORNING. I WILL UPDATE IT IF I DO. BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!!

Good start to the morning. Japan got a penalty shot in the 57th minute to win the game 3-2. A much higher scoring contest then i thought it would be but the man that they needed to step up was Kobu and he did just that by scoring 2 goals. Wales managed an early goal in like the 24th minute to beat Canada 1-0. I'm still debating whether to add to the Denmark play. C'mon Denmark!!!! Looking at it more now I'm trying to see if I can find the lineups for that match. Also looking at the Italy vs Tunisia matchup.

Updated it my books rules were misguided. Denmark was graded as a loss. Originally they told me that it would be graded as a victory cause the goal was in extra time that they gave up. But after it was graded it was a loss. :bang: That freaking sucks giving up a goal in the final minute of play to blow a win and it turns into a big loss.

Man that Denmark result is going to eat away at me. You gotta hate losing in the last seconds of a match especially when it's a high juice game. Still looking at what my book offers for tomorrows matches. I found a couple i like in the Norwegian League. Yes i did say that correctly the Norwegian League. Once my other line are out i might add one or two more. Curious as to whether the friendly match between Nigeria and Jamiaca will have a line. Plus there are a couple of other matches I'm looking at. Norwegian Premier League
Rosenborg (-200) Over Sogndal (Home) - 2 units (L) (Rosenborg tied 3-3)
Rosenborg is 9-1-2 in their history vs Sogndal since 94. 4-0-2 over the last 3 years with two of the ties coming at Sogndal. This current season Rosenborg is sitting in 6th place with a record of 3-2-3. They are 1-1-2 on the road. Sogndal is sitting in 13th place with a record of 1-5-2 on the season with a home record of 1-2-1. Their lone home win of the season so far was against 7th place Bran but a team who hasn't won on the road this season. Rosenborg has played pretty well so far this season and have played the better quality teams. I would expect them to get by Sogndal despite being on the road.
Bodo/Glimt (Home) (-213) Over Fredrikstand (L) (Bodo lost 3-0)
Bodo comes in currently in 8th place in the Premier league. They've got a record of 3-4-1 on the season with a home record of 1-2-1. Three of those contests were against the league best Tromso which they beat 2-1 but fell to 3rd place Odd Grenlad and 5th place Lyn. Fredrikstand is up in it's first season in the Premier league. They haven't had much success since moving up as they are in last place with a record of 1-5-2 and an away record of 1-3 their lone win of the season was at 11th place Molde. In this game i'll go with the better squad. Bodo has had some very nice results and a couple of dissapointing ones. Hopefully they take care of business at home.
Lyn Oslo (+115) (Home) Over Brann (L) (Lyn lost 2-1)
I just see some nice value in this match. Brann is 0-4 on the road this season while Lyn is is 3-0-1 at home. Both teams have met some of the same teams. Lyn has faired slightly better then Brann. Lyn is currently in 5th at 3-2-3 on the season and Brann is in 7th at 3-4-3. Brann lost on the road to two upper echeclon teams while losing to two teams that are below them in the standings. Both teams are coming off solid wins as Lyn at home beat 1st place leader Tromso 2-1 while Brann took care of business at home vs Bodo/Glimt 3-1. A play on the tie line might not be a bad idea but i'll take a shot that Brann continues to struggle on the road and Lyn continues to play well at home.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Just a very tough day. The two games I was most confident about was Rosenborg which i played to win 2 units and Bodo. Bodo allowed Fredrikstad to come out in the 2nd half and score 3 unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes. Bodo lost 3-0. Then to top that off Rosenborg blew a 2-0 lead in the 2nd half to tie the game 3-3 and give me the freaking loss. NOT A GOOD DAY. Will get this back this week.:bang:

Well the high juice games are getting me. I was pretty confident in yesterdays plays and they burned me. Still going over tomorrows matches. June 1st
World Cup Qualifying Match
Uruguay (-181) Over Peru (L) (Peru won 3-1)
Tomorrow's match for Uruguay is their biggest test of the season. In there last qualifying match they got blitzed at home by up an coming Venezuela 3-0. That cost head coach Carrasco his job and brought a new head coach in former Uruguain starting keeper Jorge Fossati. Fossati has an up hill battle to climb as Uruguay sits in 6th place with 7 pts and is two spots behind the final qualifying spot. Uruguay was expected to be one of the qualifiers but has struggled this season. Fossati will most likely bring a new mentality to this team as they lead the group in goals with 11 but have also yielded 11 on the season. He gets an added advantage in this contest as stars such as Alvaro Recoba, Alexander Lembo, Walter Pandiani and Javier Chevanton were made available to him. Peru has had some mix success so far they sit in 7th place with 5 pts so far. They get the return of star midfielder Nolberto Solano back for the match vs Uruguay. Uruguay has won the last two matches last summer 2-1 and 4-3 in a home and home series. This match certainly has some question marks for the high line but I'm expecting Uruguay to bounce back and right the ship...or at least I hope.
Stats:
World Cup Qualifying Results:
Uruguay- Ranked 25th in the World
Uruguay (H) beat Bolivia 5-0
Paraguay (H) beat Uruguay 4-1
Uruguay (H) beat Chile 2-1
Brazil (H) tied Uruguay 3-3

June 1st
International Friendly
China (+125) Over Hungary (W) (China won 2-1)
Not much to go on. Trying to figure out a certain ranking system. China upset Finland a higher ranked team twice this season. China is ranked 51 while Hungary is 72 according to this system. Hungary had one solid win this year coming against higher ranked team Japan. Just like China the rest were lower ranked teams. Basically playing this match cause it's at China and their the higher ranked team.
World Cup Qualifying Match (originally i was playing a match in the Norwegian league but missed playing it so played this instead)
Venezuela (Even) Over Chile (L) (Chile won 1-0)
Venezuela and Chile are two pretty even teams. Despite a loss to Jamaica Venezuela has been the suprise of the CONEMBOL. They forced the firing of Uruguay's head coach as they blitzed them on the road 3-0. I like Chile and I like their style but they will be without top goal scorer Salas and will also be without starting Keeper Nelson Tapia. With the game at Venezuela I'm hoping that the crowd pushes them over. Once again a tie is very realistic in this match.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Solid start to the day thanks to a little luck in the China match. Six minutes in Hungary got on the board with a penalty shot and they lead 1-0 till the final moments of the 1st half as China was able to tie it up. The 2nd half was an even draw once again till the final moments when China was awarded a penalty shot in added time...THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!! Thank you China!!!!
Still looking at the England vs Japan match. Not sure if I'm going to play that one. Will update if I do. But I am adding another match in the CONEMBOL World Cup Qualifying. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

World Cup Qualifying Match
Paraguay (+145) Over Bolivia (L) (Bolivia won 2-1)
Once again according to the system it should probably be a no play but i"m going to take a shot with a good line. Although Paraguay will be without free kick specialist Francisco Arce I still think they get by in the altitude of Bolivia. Paraguay has one of the more stingy defenses in the world. If they can get a lead I would expect them to pack in the defense. Paraguay has been training in the mountains to prepare for this match. In the last 5 meetings in La Paz Paraguay and Bolivia each won one while they tied the other three. Paraguay sits in 2nd place in the qualifying group while being ranked 20th in the world. Bolivia is currently in last in the group while be ranked 69th in the world. The tie line is probably the best play in this game but I'll take the shot with the + number on the better team. I just hope they can manage to get one by the goalie.

Well after a good start with China it all went downhill. Uruguay got blitzed again at home by Peru 3-1 and Venezuela came up short at home to Chile 1-0. Besides losing the Uruguay match which was very dissapointing Paraguay a team that should have been able to handle Bolivia even in the high altitude failed to do so in losing 2-1. I've got some sort of posting jinx. I do better without posting...LOL!!! I'll try and turn this around for tomorrow's matches. There is a bunch and I'm trying to weed through them. Right now just two plays. Will decide on the others tomorrow. Playing one at a much higher unit value as I really like it. Normally wouldn't play a game that high in soccer unless i felt it showed alot of value. I felt it did let's hope it proves me right. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

International Friendly's
Turkey (+120) Over South Korea - 5 Units (W) (Turkey won 1-0)
According to the FIFA rankings Turkey comes in 7th while South Korea is currently in 19th. Now according to ELO Chess rankings Turkey is 12th while South Korea is 40th. Turkey has just come off back to back wins over Australia who's currently ranked 89th in FIFA but 17th in ELO Chess. S. Korea has really yet to play anyone of significance this season as they've managed to beat Oman and Lebanon but only managed to tie Paraguay and Maldives. Turkey who failed to qualify is preparing for another shot at the World Cup where they stunned the world by making it to the semis. Unfortunately they did hit a roadblock as they failed to qualify for the Euro Championship. They've faced some good competition this year by beating Australia twice, Belguim while being defeated by Denmark and tieng Croatia. I just see this match as excellent value for a solid team. Just not sure on the lineups that Turkey will bring and I fully expect S. Korea to bring their A lineup at home. Turkey is the better team and I'm hoping for the better result.
Czech Republic (-179) Over Bulgaria (W) (Czech's won 3-1)
Both teams are meeting in a tuneup for the Euro Championships. Bulgaria is looking to avenge the 2001 world cup qualifying match where the Czechs blitzed Bulgaria 6-0 at home. Czechs are currently 7th in the world. They've lost their last two friendlies to lower ranked teams in Japan and Ireland. That snapped a 20+ game streak of not being beaten. Bulgaria has played well this year by beating Cameroon and tying Russia while losing to Greece. This should be a very competitive match against bordering nations. I question Bulgaria's team stamina as well as there head coach. He felt that only half the team was in game shape for the upcoming tourney while the other half were still working on their shape. Have to give the edge to the more experienced and home team in the Czechs Tie line probably is a smart play in this match but I'll go with the better team IMO and go for the win.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Another solid start to the morning. Hopefully the Czechs can continue the success today. Thanks Turkey!!! Turkey came through with flying colors in their road win at S. Korea. A goal in the 1st Half by Hakan Sukur was all they needed as they held on to win 1-0. Very big win that cuts the deficit by more then half. Let's get this back. Having a good day so far. Thanks to the Czechs coming through in the 2nd half. After being deadlocked at the half. The Czech Republic poured on the offense in the 2nd winning 3-1. Thank you Czechs!!!! Well I've gotten most of what I've lost this week in soccer but I'm going to try a few more today. Going to play the Ireland match vs Jamaica. Still undecided about the Swiss vs Germany match. I'm also going to play the US tonight versus Honduras but will first wait to see how the Ireland match progresses before deciding how much to put on the US. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Ireland (-200) Over Jamaica (W) (Ireland won 1-0)
Both teams were just beaten by Nigeria in the Three Nations Cup in England. Ireland got whitewashed 3-0 while Jamaica fell 2-0. Despite the losses both teams have had a fairly succesfull friendly season as Jamaica is 2-1-1 and Ireland is also 2-1-1. The nod goes to Ireland as their quality of opponent was higher then Jamaica's. One thing that bothers me is that Ireland is not starting a few of there better players in todays game. Keane is out along with a few others. But I'm still confident in the side that their putting out there will come through over a quality Jamaica side.

United States (-192) Over Honduras - 2 units (W) (USA won 4-0)
The US is playing this evenings game at Foxboro Stadium with what should be a full squad. Mathis got banged up at practice yesterday and he is the lone question mark. The US has it's full mix of European players and MLS players. Claudio Reyna will hit a milestone in this evenings match as he will get his 100th cap for the US side. Honduras is 0-2-4 in friendly's this year while the US is 2-1-2 playing better competition. This is also the first game this year that the US will see a full squad as Arena wants to get a look at who will be apart of the team for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches. With Head Coach Boris Milunovic he's found a way to pack in Honduras defense which has given Guerra in the middle plenty of touches in counter attacks. I expect the US to try and pressure all game. I'm hoping that one of the guys whether it's Beasley, Donovan or McBride to hopefully sneak one through. In goal for the US will be Manchester United Tim Howard. Last time these two teams met US won 4-0. I'm hoping for another victory....LET'S GO USA!!!!

THANKS USA!!!! Just an awesome game. USA took care of business by handing Honduras a 4-0 beating. Two early goals by McBride in the 1st half and a very blatant red card to Honduras best player only did further harm. Playing with 10 men Honduras hung around for the better part of 60 minutes till they finally succumbed to US pressure. Two more 2nd half goals gave them the 4-0 victory. They did what they were supposed to do an Arenas got a very good look at what his team will look like in Word Cup Qualifying. They were able to make plenty of substitutions so they saw a bunch of different players. Good start for the US and now it's time to take care of business next month in the beginning of qualifying.

Great Job...I've been following your forum and I think you have the right idea with soccer and Tennis....I think they are, if there is one, a more "predictable" bet than baseball and Hockey...Great comeback and know that I'm watching your posts and let me know of definites or good feels you have.. Great Job!!

Thanks Doc...Didn't think anyone here followed soccer. Soccer and Tennis migh be more predictable then other sports but the one problem for the most part is your laying higher lines then other sports and you run the risk of a team not bringing their top squad to a friendly. I try to find out what I can in terms of lineups. In soccer you can also get burned by the tie line if you bet someone to win. Now happens to be one of the better time for friendlies as most of the European teams are preparing for the Euro Championships next week.
There won't be any plays for me till Saturday's games. Greece is meeting Lichtenstein today in a friendly but the line is absolutely ridiculous at like -1600. Greece should roll right over Lichtenstein probably by a score of 3-0. Still a no play for me. Big card for Saturday as there is a mixture of Friendlys and CONEMBOL Qualifying matches. I'll be back tomorrow with Saturday's plays. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

International Friendly's
Portugal (-769) Over Lithuania - 2 units (W) (Portugal won 4-1)
Wow very high juice game. You gotta play what you like...LOL!! Portugal comes into this match off a 3-0 victory over Luxemborg in a friendly the other day. They got out to an early lead and pulled back the reigns in the 2nd half of that match. Portugal is currently ranked 20th in the world and they are ranked 9th according to ELO CHESS. Portugal is the host of the 2004 Euro Championships next week and are coming into this match with a 2004 friendly record of 1-1-2 with ties versus Sweden and England while losing to Italy. Lithuania is ranked 108th in the world according to FIFA while they are ranked 110 in ELO CHESS. Lithuania has only played two friendlies this season losing 2-1 to Israel and 1-0 to Belarus. None of those teams are remotely close to the talent of Portugal. Last time these two teams met was back in 2000 and Portugal won the game 5-1. I guess I am a bit worried that this is a friendly but Portugal should really take care of business in this match. Portugal is one of the few teams hitting their stride as they enter the Euro Championships and I expect them to dominate the game vs Lithuania.
Turkey (+125) Over South Korea (L) (South Korea won 2-1)
I played this match the other day for 5 units. I'm not going to play it that high again as these two teams are now pretty familiar with each other. In the last match a first half goal by Hakan Sukur was enough for the Turks to get by. South Korea had some very solid moments in the game and missed out capatilizing on some good oppurtunities. Turkey controlled the play in the midfield and at times were said to be playing at a much higher pace then S. Korea. I would think Turkey would try and control the play again using a solid midfield. Turkey has now won 2 in a row over South Korea and they should get by a 3rd straight time
After the match the other day Turkey moved up one spot in the ELO CHESS rankings to 11th while S. Korea dropped to 44th.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Not off to a good start today...I had a feeling that Turkey and South Korea were too familiar with one another just playing the other day. Turkey got another first half goal by Hakan Sukur but were unable to hold the lead in the 2nd half. Hopefully Portugal takes care of some serious business in the game later today....C'mon Portugal!!!!

Portugal took care of business handing Lithuania a 4-1 lost. Portugal did make the game a bit nerve racking in the 73rd minute giving up a penalty shot making the score 2-1. I figure they layed back in the 2nd half like they did in the previous fixture vs Luxemborg but once the game got close they decided to turn it up a notch by scoring two more goals....Thanks You Portugal!!!! Looking at tomorrow's fixtures. There is a mix of Conembol qualifying matches and some International Friendly's. Some of the odds are pretty high again so going to try and sort through which games look solid....Best of luck to everyone!!!!

International Friendly
France (-357) Over Ukraine - 4.5 units (W) (France won 1-0)
Les Blues enter this match on a 17 game unbeaten streak. Although confidence is very high with the favorite to win the Euro Championships a bit of controversy resides in France as head coach Jacques Santini will not be returning as Head Coach after this years tournament. Sunday's match is the final tuneup for France's hopeful title run in Portugal. They are trying not to repeat the same results back in the 2002 World Cup by losing a match right before the tournament had started and an eventual bowout in the group stage of the Cup. France enters the match ranked 2nd in the World according to FIFA's rankings and are ranked 1st according to ELO Chess. France has a friendly record of 2-0-2 this year with wins over Andorra and Belguim and ties versus Brazil and Holland. Ukraine is currently ranked 65th according to FIFA's rankings but are ranked 54th in ELO Chess. They've got a friendly record of 0-1-2 this year with ties versus Slovakia and Libya but a loss to Macedonia. Ukraine's star foward Andrei Shevchenko(AC Milan) will not play in the game as he decided to stay with his ailing sister. Ukraine failed to make this years Euro Championships. France for the most part will be fielding same starting 11 that is expected versus England in their opening match with the exception of David Trezeguet. The lone injury on France's side is too David Trezeguet who sprained his ankle in practice. I'm hoping that the French fans will get over the fact that their Head Coach is leaving and that the team will take care of business and not look ahead to England.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Germany (-400) Over Hungary (L) (Hungary won 2-0)
Once former teammates for Germany Voeller (Germany) and Mattheaus (Hungary) will try and coach their side to victory. Germany enters this game off an impressive showing versus Switzerland (Euro Cup Qualifier) beating them 2-0. Previously in the week Germany had cruised to a 7-0 victory over Malta. Nine goals in the two games is a vast improvement for what was thought as a non existent offense by Germany. But fortunately it looks like their offense is peaking at the right time. Germany is still wary over a 5-1 beating they took from Romania earlier this year. Germany is expected to start the same lineup that they had used during their win versus the Swiss but are expected to make many substitutions. Two players who will play in the match are Lukas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger who are just fresh off appearances at the Under 21 Euro Championships. Germany is currently ranked 9th in the world according to FIFA and are also ranked 9th according to ELO Chess. Germany has a friendly record of 4-1 with wins over Belguim, Croatia (Qualifier), Malta and Switzerland (Qualifier) their lone lost was to Romania. Hungary enters the match with what is an injury plagued team. Oliver Kahn the keeper of Germany has more caps then the entire Hungary team put together. Hungary is currently ranked 68th in the FIFA rankings and are 73rd in the ELO Chess rankings. They've got a friendly record of 3-4 with wins over Latvia (Qualifier), Japan and Armenia with losses to Brazil, China, Wales and Romania. This match is very important for Germany. They don't want a repeat of the Romania match. They must continue to gain confidence and I would expect them to play very hard versus their Hungarian counterparts.

Latvia (-357) Over Azerbaijan (L) (Latvia and Azerbaijan tied 2-2)
Latvia is struggling with some injuries as they enter this match. Both teams faced Kazahkstan recently where Latvia won 3-1 and Azerbijan won 3-2. In this match i just see Latvia who's preparing for the Euro Championships next week to continue playing a solid team game and they should get by Azerbijan. Latvia was able to get out of a fairly tough group in the Euro Qualifiers and I would expect the home crowd to give them a nice send off. Injuries do worry me but they should get by.

Well I'm off to a 1-1 start on the day. I got a solid win from HJK over Jaro in the Finnish V league. But Latvia a team who's competing in next weeks European Championships failed to hold up their end in their final tuneup. They got the lead early in the 2nd half only to give it back 3 minutes later. Then Azerbaijan scored on a penalty shot in the 75th minute. Latvia was able to tie the game up 8 minutes later also on a penalty shot but failed to score after that. The game ended up a 2-2 tie but I had Latvia to win:bang: I added more to my France play..Hoping there isn't a letdown for them....Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Well it wasn't the type of day I expected. Germany got outplayed by an undermanned Hungary squad in losing 2-0. Germany was never able to recover after two first half goals by the visitor. Terrible game for Germany and a poor showing right before the European Championships. Thankfully Zinedane Zidane was able to volley in a goal in the 89th minute to secure a 1-0 victory for Les Bleus. Very big win for me and a solid start for France as they fly over to Portugal. Going to look at the two remaining CONEMBOL matches Colombia vs Uruguay and Chile vs Brazil. Brazil looks like a very tempting play especially at even money. The one question mark in that match is they have never played well at Chile. In their most recent match there they fell to a 3-0 defeat by the Chileans. Anyways I'm going to go try and sort through some newspaper articles to find the lineups in those matches. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Brazil (Even) Over Chile (L) (Brazil and Chile tied 1-1)
Probably not a smart move to bet Brazil in this game. A few injury concerns and the fact that they've never played well at Chile. I just feel they continue the momentum from a 3-1 victory over Argentina earlier in the week. According to a system the play is really on Chile. I think the draw is probably the best play for this game but I'll take a shot at good odds that Brazil wins this. I see a 1-0 or 2-1 type game...C'mon Brazil!!!!

Man if I can only tell you all what kind of day it's been but this result will tell you how well it went. Brazil got an early goal in the 16th minute by Luis Fabiano to take a 1-0 lead. They lead throughout the entire game until the 89th FREAKING minute and give up a penalty shot goal to let Chile tie the game. I did get lucky with my big game today with France coming up with a huge goal in the 88th minute but this was just a bad way to lose a game. This has been one frustrating day.

Still pissed about the Brazil result last night. After reading match reports on the game I found out that the penalty that was called on Brazil in the 89th minute was a phantom foul. According to all news reports based on the videotape the Brazilian defender never touched the Chilean striker. Greaaaaaaaaaatttt just what I wanted to hear. What can you do. Not much going on this week in soccer except for some Club games. I'll be starting a thread sometime today with the start of my Euro Cup pics for the start of the tourney this weekend. Today features just one game in the Norwegian Premier League. Not really doing anything today still sick as a dog so I figure I'll try and recoup some of yesterday's losses. Norwegian Tippeligaen
Lillestrom (-111) Over Stabaek (W) (Lillestrom won 3-0)
Neither team has had a succesful start to the season. Lilly and Stabaek are both tied with 10 pts and both sit at 11th place in the league. Lillestrom features a record of 2-3-4 (2-1-1 Home) while Stabaek is 3-5-1 (1-2-1 Away). Goal differential in between these two home vs away Lillestrom has a +2 while Stabake has a -2. Stabaek has only managed 2 goals this season on the other teams pitch. Both have had fairly even schedules to start with Lilly probably facing the slightly tougher teams. Once again I do think the tie line is a very solid play in this game. It seems as though the lone games in the league wind up being ties. But I'm not a fan of the tie line and I only like playing it in certain situations. With Lillestrom playing solid ball at home I'll take a shot with them at a low number.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Well both teams played to form. Lillestrom continued to play well at home while Stabaek continued to struggle on the road. Lillestrom got an early 1st half goal and then managed two goals in the first 20 minutes of the 2nd hafl to put the finishing touches on Stabaek 3-0. Solid victory. Next play for me most likely will be Wed in the Copa Libertadores. I'm also going to probably start my thread for the Euro Cup sometime this evening. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

June 9th
Brazilian Cup - Semis
Vitoria (-143) Over Flamengo - 2 units (L) (Flamengo won 1-0)
When I first looked at this game I really questioned the line. I'm not to sure why it's so low in this match. This match features 10th place Vitoria (4-3-1) vs 22nd place Flamengo (0-4-4). In their most recent match back on May 9th when Flamengo visited Vitoria they were handed a 5-1 defeat. Vitoria has proven to be the tops at home this season with a record of 4-0 and a goal differential of +12 at home. While Flamengo has gone just 0-3-1 on the road with a goal differential of -4. Now those numbers are from this season league action. Flamengo has managed to get to the Semis of the Brazilian Cup but I just can't see them getting past Vitoria. Vitoria has been very solid at home and proved it once this season. They are however a different team on the road. I just feel they continue their good play at home. Flamengo has dominated this series in the past and feature some quality players. I just don't think it will be enough to overtake Vitoria in the match.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Chilean League
Cobreloa (+135) Over Temuco (L) (Cobreloa and Temuco tied 1-1)
IMO just excellent value for what I think is the best if not the 2nd best team in the Chilean League going up against an average team. Cobreloa has played fairly well on the road and Temuco has been ok at home. Cobreloa features the leagues top scorer. In their lone meeting so far this season back on May 9th at Cobreloa they were able to defeat Temuco 3-0. I'll take my chances at good odds on the road.

Norwegian Tippeligaen
Rosenborg (-270) Over Bodo/Glimt - 2 units (W) (Rosenborg wins 3-0)
Before I get to how these teams have faired this season I first have to go over a bit of history. Rosenborg has won the last 17 of 18 matches between these two teams over the last 9 years. Bodo/Glimt managed a tie at home back in 1997. This game features last years first place team Rosenborg facing last years 2nd place team Bodo/Glimt. In the two meetings last Rosenborg won 5-4 and 3-0. This season neither team has regained the form they were at the season before. Currently Rosenborg sits in 3rd place with a record of 4-2-4 with a goal differential of +5 and they are 3-1-1 at home with a goal differential of +6. Bodo/Glimt are currently in 11th place with a record of 3-5-2 with a goal differential of -5. They are however which is a bit odd in what it a home team dominated league 2-2-1 away with a goal differential of +1. Rosenborg features the #2 scorer in the Norwegian Tippeliagen. Last game out for Rosenborg they managed a 5-0 win over 6th place Ham Kam while Bodo visited 9th place Viking and managed a 1-1 tie. I just feel it's very hard to pass this game based off the past history between these two and based off the play this season. I got burned once this season by Rosenborg at home when they tied last place Sogndal 3-3. Once again I'll take my chances here with some history behind my back.
Copa Libertadores
Sao Paulo (Bra) (-222) Over Once Caldas (Col) - 2 units (L) (Sao Paulo and Once tied 0-0)
What a game this should be. Sao Paulo officials are planning what is to be a crowd well over 70,00 to try and see there club through the first leg of the Semi's and to try and win the Copa's for the first time since 92 and 93. Once Caldas was the Springtime Champions of the Colombian league last year. Currently this season they sit in 4th place in their league. Once Caldas managed to get here through a pretty hard group and got past the quaters vs 22nd place in the Brazilian league Santos on penalty shots at home in the 2nd leg. Sao Paulo reached the semis by beating Tachira 7-1 in combined legs. Sao Paulo is currently in 2nd place in Brazilian A-League this season. They feature Luis Fabiano who just came off the lone goal for Brazil in their match versus Chile earlier this week. Once Caldas fields a quality team as well and should match up at certain spots. I'm just expecting a huge crowd to help propel Sao Paulo past Once Caldas Wed night. A final of Sao Paulo vs either Boca Juniors or River Plate is expected. I would think Sao Paulo takes care of business in there home leg.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Solid start to the day. Rosenborg continued there dominance over Bodo/Glimt winning the match 3-0. Three first half goals by Rosie sealed the deal in what is now a record of 18-0-1 in the last 19 matches between these two. Now I need Sao Paulo and Vitoria to take care of business in there matches this evening in Brazil. Vitoria plays Flamengo in the Brazilian Cup Semis while Sao Paulo plays Once Caldas in the Copas Libertadores Semis. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Turku- PS (-139) Over Jaro - 3 units (W) (Turku-PS won 3-1)
6th plave TPS meets 13th plave Jaro. TPS has been fairly solid at home at 2-1-1 while Jaro has continued to struggle going 0-4 on the road. Both teams split there only two meetings last year with both teams winning at home.
Tampere (-133) Over Hameelinna (W) (Tampere won 1-0)
Tampere sits in 1st while Hameelinna is in 12th. Actually the two times Tampere has gone to Ham they've only managed a tie. I'll take my shot on short odds with the better team. Tampere has only given up 4 goals on the season while scoring 11. Hameelinna has scored 9 while giving up 16.

Solid day in the Finnish Veikkausliiga. TPS beat Jaro by a score of 3-1. A hatrick by Mikko Hyyrynen in the 2nd half lead TPS all the way. Jaro managed a consolation goal in the 75th minute but at that point the match was over. First place Tampere went to Hameelinna and escaped with a late goal right before the final whistle. Finally caught a break with a late goal. Usually they are burning me. It was a good day cut the deficit somewhat. Going to take a look at the Mexican Championship 1st leg match between Guadalajara vs UNAM. There is another match tonight in the other half of the Copa Libertadores. Boca Juniors is home vs River Plate. Should be an amazing game as this is one of the fiercest rivalries in the world. Last match between the two River managed to escape in Boca with a 1-0 victory. Well usually whenever I do this it normally ends up pretty bad I always wind up losing the add on during a good day. Decent odds offered for the match between Guadalajara (Chivas) (+110) vs (Pumas) UNAM (+185) with the draw (+195). Last time these two met UNAM won at home 3-0. UNAM finished 2nd while Chivas finished 3rd. This match is now at Chivas and it's the first leg of the Championship. Chivas got here by passing 5th place Toluca in the semis and in the quaters got by 6th place Atlante. UNAM got here by beating suprise Cruz Azul 11th place and they beat 7th place Atlas in the quaters. UNAM had an awesome year and Chivas was pretty good as well. UNAM is 1-0-1 in the playoff phase on the road while Chivas is 2-0 at home in the playoff phase. Taking a shot with the home team in a must win game. If chivas doesn't win this game there championship dreams are over. I don't think they are capable of winning on the road at UNAM. Let's Go Guadalajara (Chivas)!!!!

Chivas managed a penalty shot a few minutes before the close of the game to tie it up. Good game. Chivas was the right side it just didn't work out that way. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

They are now 8 games into the season and Fluminese currently sits in 11th place with a record of 3-1-4 with a GD of +2. Guarani sits in 18th place with a record of 2-4-2 with a GD of -2. Fluminese enters with a home mark of 2-0-2 and a GD of +2. Pretty decent numbers at home. They aren't scoring much but there defense has been great. Guarani is 1-3 on the road managing just 1-0 win at 17th place Vasco De Gama. Since that match they've dropped 3 straight giving up a combined 4 goals. Fluminese is 2-1-2 versus Guarani in the last 4 years. Fluminese is 2-0-1 at home in those matches winning last years home tilt 5-2. Both teams split last years meetings with both teams winning convincingly at home. Not happy with the high line in this match. But defensively Fluminese is playing very well at home and I think Guarani continues to struggle on the road to score. Fluminese wins a 1-0 or 2-0 type match.
Good Luck to All!!!!

I have no idea whats what with soccer!!! I signed up with a site to get INFO on american sports and I was notified that my email address was picked to receive picks from 3 different cappers for a year in Soccer, NASCAR and PGA. Well I don't bet any of the 3, since you have started betting, if I get time I may try and access them for soccer and match em to what you are playing and see how it goes. I have no idea how to bet or anything to do with soccer. LOL

Nick let me know what they've got at times. Occasionally it's tough getting info but I generally stick to leagues I know. Usually the Fall is a better time during the major Club Leagues in England, France, Spain, Germany and etc.... Generally in the leagues I'm playing now I stick to home favorites. For the most part alot of these leagues are home dominated divisions and If you can weed through all of the matches you can find one or two good games.

Fluminese jumped out to an early 1-0 lead but a quick goal by Guarani just minutes into the 2nd half tied the game up and that's how it stayed. I felt the line was strange and now I know why. Still looking to do well in the Brazilian Serie A League. Well let's see what's on tap for tomorrow. Sorry no writeups a bit tired tonight for them. Best of Luck to Everyone!!!

Well solid day in Club ball. Got the wins out of Banfield and Cobreloa for the 2 team parlay and 1st place Criciuma came through for a solid win. Only Palmeiras tie vs Vasco ruined a good day.

Two club plays for today. One in the Norwegian Tippeligaen and the other in the Irish Premier league. Two road teams which worries me a bit but they are both good lines. Best of luck to everyone!!!!
Soccer YTD: 19-18 (-3.94 units)
Ireland Eircom Premier League
Shelbourne (+120) Over Drogheda (L) (Shelbourne and Drogheda tied 2-2)
Good odds for the first place Shelbourne team. Shelbourne is 9-1-5 on the season and are playing very good soccer with a GD of +13. They've played pretty well on the road this season with a record of 4-1-2 and a GD of +5. Drogheda sits in 5th place with a record of 7-5-3 and a GD of +2. They've actually played a bit better on the road then at home. Currently they are 3-3-1 at home with an even GD. Shelbourne is a well balanced team but the majority of there scoring comes from league leader Byrne whose tallied 11 goals to start the season. He is however helped by Fitzpatrick and Cahill who also are among the members of the leaders in goals for the league. I just think it's solid odds even though the match is on the road. I see either a Shelbourne victory or a tie. I'll take the shot with the better squad at good odds.
Norwegian Tippeligaen
Rosenborg (-150) Over Stabaek (L) (Rosenborg tied Stabaek 1-1)
I've played Rosenborg a few times already this year. They are a very solid team and sit in 2nd place right now with a record of 5-2-4 with a GD of +9. On the road they haven't played as well with a record of 1-1-3 and a GD of -1. That worries me a bit in this match. They aren't a strong road team but I don't think Stabaek has the talent to play with them. Stabaek is currently in 13th place with a record of 3-6-1 and a GD of -7. At home they are 2-3 with a GD of -2. Rosenborg is lead by league leader in goals Johnsen. He tallied 3 goals in his last match vs Bodo/Glimt. If this match was at Rosenborg you would see a line of 200 and higher. This line is not bad even though Rosenborg isn't as strong on the road. Still Stabaek has struggled this season and Rosenborg has been in good form. So I'll be going with Rosenborg.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Not the type of day I expected in club ball. Got screwed on a goal in the 89th minute by Stabaek to tie the game up. Rosenborg lead the whole way through but only ended in a tie. Shelbourne came back from 2-0 down to tie it up 2-2. They weren't able to put the winning goal away.:bang: I really felt that I would at least split these two with a good shot at a 2-0 day. So much for what I felt.

I was going to start a new thread with my club plays but since I only have one for tomorrow I'll keep the plays in here till the weekend matches. Looking to bounce back after two tough ties in the last two games which gave me two losses. Best of luck to everyone!!!!
Soccer YTD: 19-20 (-6.44 units) *Does not include Euro's will add after tourney
Norwegian 1st Division
Sandejford (-162) Over Skeid (W) (Sandejford won 3-1)
Sandejford is currently in 3rd place in the 1st division with a record of 7-1-3 with a goal differential of +14 (21 goals 7 against). They are currently 4-0-1 at home with a GD of +12 (14 goals 2 against). Skeid is in 9th place with a record of 4-4-3. There GD is +3 with 25 goals and 22 against. Skeid is 2-2-1 on the road with a GD of -1 scoring 8 but giving up 9. Sandefjord is 6-1-1 against Skeid over the last 4 years. However they only sport a 2-1-1 record at home. Both teams sit exactly where they were last season. Sandejford continues to roll offensively and defensively. Except one poor showing vs 1st place Start they have been pretty good throughout the season. Not a bad price. Willing to take the risk on it.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Just when I thought I was out they pulled me back in..LOL. Found another one I liked today in Club Soccer. There are a handful of matches today that my book just opened the lines for. A few I'm leaving alone cause there are alot at stake and I just want to watch. Those matches were the Copa Libertadores semi between River Plate and Boca Juniors and Once Caldas vs Sao Paulo. The other was the Brazilian Cup Cup finals between Flamengo and Vitoria. Leaving all those alone as well and the Finnish Cup matches. Found one in the Swedish 2nd division that looks really good even though the juice is high. Good Luck to everyone!!!!
Swedish Superrettan
Hacken (-250) Over Brage (W) (Hacken won 3-2)
Hacken is in 4th place with a record of 4-0-4 and a GD of +9 (Only 4 goals against). At home they are 3-0-1 and have been stifling defensively only giving up 1 goal while scoring 7. Brage is in 13th place with a record of 2-4-3 and a GD of -2. They are 0-3-1 on the road while only scoring 2 goals and giving up 6. These teams have met twice back in 2002 with each team winning on there home turf. Sticking with the home team who has been very good defensively. Juice is high but it should be for this match. Always wary of the tie as it could peak it's head in this match but I think Hacken is too good defensively.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Solid day in Club ball. Got a nice 3 goal 2nd half from Sandejford to win 3-1. I got lucky on the Hacken match. I talk about defense and they give up 2 goals..LOL. Hacken jumped out to an early 2-0 lead only to hand the two first half goals right back in the last few minutes of the half. I got an added time goal by Hacken to pull through in the closing minute.:yeah:
