This is a tough game. The Lakers didn't really play "well", and still won going away by 11 points, although they almost blew the cover. I think with Flip Saunders whining for more foul calls for KG, that the officials might call this a bit more closely, and Minny might get some more calls. I like Minnesota for three reasons tonight :
1.) Kobe Byrant being in court, and status for game time in question, or whenever he gets back. (I know, I know...I've bet him every time he's had a court date & basketball game, but I just don't feel it this time. Plus, their backs aren't against the wall, so to speak).
2.) Flip Saunders pulling a Phil Jackson, and imploring the officials to blow a whistle for his team(Specifically for KG), and implying a double standard.
3.) Minnesota knows if they lose this game, then you can stick a fork in them. They'll be inspired tonight, and play with reckless abandon. Thus, I like the points.
Minnesota needs to turn this game into a track meet, up & down the floor, and keep away from the tendancy to sludge along in a half-court game. With these games creeping ever closer towards the Finals, games become tighter, and teams feel the weight of either going home or moving forward. I'm writing this early, so the line will probably fluctuate before tip off. As long as it stays within Minny catching +7 or more, I'm on it.
