Smarty Jones. The horse is a monster and it may be our last chance to see him race. His work ethic and training regimine is unconventional by horse standards. I have owned 4 thoroughbreds over the years and watching them train is not what you may expect. They gallop 1-2 miles a day and once every seven days pull in a work, maybe even add in some gate work if the horse is a little green or spooked. SJ runs 1-2 miles a day however his morning strechout is normally a hotter run. Thus you will only find a few posted works in the form. Don't discount this horses speed as he has yet to be seriously challenged. If he wins expect him to retire to stud. I still love Rock Hard Ten however this lightly raced 3 y/o hasn't blossomed yet but he will be a great horse, barring injuries. GL

I sure hope that Smarty Jones can win the triple crown. I think that it would be great for the sport and would attract some more interest, but not a whole lot. Personally i see very little value is putting money on him. I think his odds are 3/5. I just dont see him being worth that much. Throw him in a couple exacta's or trifecta's of course but even that wont be that great. There arent many horses running this race so even the winners no matter who they arent shouldnt pay out very much. I will be pulling for smarty just because i think it would be a great story.
