Solid first day. Had to sweat through a 3 hour and 15 minute match between Massu and Tipsarevic but Massu finely came through. I expected an easy 3 set win but it was a much harder result. On to tomorrows first round matches. I'll be back later with my predictions and my picks. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

Thanks YankeesMarc I apprecite it!!! I'll probably just stick to 1 unit plays on all of them. There are a few I would consider doubling up on tomorrow but I'll most likely stick to 1 unit plays.
Best of luck to you in the tourney!!!!

French Open 1st Round Pics - Day 2
Tommy Haas (+125) Over Juan Carlos Ferrero (L)
Nicolas Kiefer (-140) Over Thierry Ascione (W)
Ivan Lubjicic (-225) Over Hicham Arazi (W)
Augustin Calleri (+165) Over Marat Safin (L)
Dmitry Tursonov (+120) Over Potito Starace (L)
Ivo Karlovic (-160) Over Karol Kucera (L)
Kristian Pless (+400) Over Alejandro Falla (L)
Wow I just looked at my card and I've got a bunch of dogs out today. I didn't want to lay any big numbers on Tuesday's matches cause I felt there were a chance for some upsets. Pless is a longshot versus an up and comer qualifier in Falla. I just don't think Falla is worth that much in his first ever proffesional match. Haas has a good shot versus the injured defending champion. Ferrero hasn't played much and his wrist is really bothering him. Haas is good enough to put up a fight and with the injury and a potential retiring of the match for Ferrero I took the bait. Calleri is playing well on clay and overall this season. Just felt it was a tough opening match for Safin and another good shot for an upset. Tursonov is a soon to be american and is facing a qualifier in Starace. Starace is a good player but I'll take the slightly more experienced Tursonov as a dog. Lubjicic vs Arazi should be an entertaining match but the big serve and the better play of Lubjicic should get him by. Karlovic is the better player then Kucera and should advance. And for the finale Kiefer Over Ascione. Unfortunately bucking heads with YANKEESMARC on this one but I just feel Kiefer is the more solid player in this game and the only reason i find to play Ascione is that he's a Frenchmen.
Anyways I'm about to post my predictions. Those were my brief feelings on the matches i played. I repeat I'm a novice bettor at tennis but I do follow it somewhat. This is for fun and I'm playing just $10 units.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Hey Corey GL with your plays, I agree with you on alot, but disagree with you on O. Rochus and Pless, Falla is playing extremely well right now, if I recall he is an upcoming star and is undefeated on clay, Pless hasnt been anywhere close to Falla, losing to lesser talented challangers, the only way I see Falla losing is if he gets injured or of course chokes, I like Lapentti, he was very ordinary this year but has shown some signs of life, and always shows up for the French and plays his best, Lopez on the other hand played well also, but really hasnt beaten anyone of significant, Lopez likes the hard court better than clay and is under.500 on clay and has not had it good at the French last couple years, Ferrer and Rochus have both shown good form, but Ferrer is the more superior player on clay and should win today, just my 2 cents, have a good day!!!!

Sixersfan- Thanks I appreciate it and best of luck to you!!! The Rochus-Ferrer prediction was wrong. It should have said Ferrer to win in 3. I was doing it late last night and rushed through it. I also confused O. Rochus and C. Rochus up so that was the mistake...LOL. Pless is a real longshot I agree. The only real reason I took him over the more talented Falla is that he's had major championship experience before and has moved on in a few tourneys. I like Lapentti and I was very close to takiing him. The line was pretty even but like you said he's been ordinary this season and Lopez isn't the best clay courter so I just felt for a good match the prices weren't worth it.

Well today wasn't much fun. I guess the dogs weren't the best way to go with those matches. Haas got off to a great start but quickly came crashing down. Word was Ferrero struggled with the injury early but got better as the match went on. Also Calleri got off to a nice start but that ended with an early injury that forced a bad 2nd set and an early match retirement in the 3rd set. Oh well onto tomorrow's 2nd round plays. I'll be back later with my pics and predictions. Best of luck to everyone!!!!

French Open 2nd Round Pics
Christophe Rochus (+200) Over Albert Costa (L)
Rochus is 2-0 vs Costa in his career including a win on clay earlier this year. Looking for some upsets to continue.
Julien Benneteau (+250) Over David Ferrer (W)
The Frenchmen won an impressive 1st round match over Miryni and he looks to continue his success on clay this season at 4-2 on the year. Ferrer is solid player and should probably win this. But I'll take a shot with the guy that grew up right by Roland Garros and a player who's only losses on the season were to Coria, Hrbaty and Hewitt.
Xavier Malisse (-300) Over Daniel Elsner (W)
Clay is not Malisse best surface but that didn't manage to stop him in the first round upsetting the #7 seed. Malisse and Elsner met once on clay 4 years ago and Elsner was the victor. Malisse has played more this season and I just see him squirting by Elsner in this match.
Ivan Ljubicic (-400) Over Stephan Koubek (L)
Ljubicic has played well on clay (5-3) and managed to survive a tough first round match vs Arazi. Simply put Ljubicic is the better player.
Feliciano Lopez (-190) Over Karol Kucera (W)
Neither are great clay court players but I gotta think the Spaniard advances.
Good Luck to All!!!!

Well it's been a solid start so far 3-1 today but Ljubicic looks like he wants to mess everything up for me..Thanks!! Making two last minute adds to today's matches.
ADD:
Marat Safin (-400) Over Felix Mantilla
Safin has been awesome on clay this year at 11-3. Clay is not his best surface but he's managing to play fine on it this season and he has the game to beat anyone in the world. Mantilla is no pushover but Safin is the better play so you gotta think he will advance.
Jonas Bjorkman (Even) Over Thomas Enqvist
Two countrymen meet in that match. I think Bjorkman holds a 3-1 lead over Enqvist in his career. Bjorkman has had some tough draws on the season which hasn't helped his record this year. I'll stick with the ranked player getting Even money in what should be an entertaining match.
Good Luck to All!!!!

365er- I definetly like Corretja. I think he shows some value as a dog in what should be a good match. However my thinking is that Robredo will get by Massu and that Mutis will get by Santoro. I think two straight 5 set matches and playing a doubles match as well will finally catch up to Santoro. I'm still debating what to play. I'not having a good tournament so i still dont know if i'll play anything in tomorrows matches still looking into them.
BEST OF LUCK!!!!!
