Wanted to post these numbers.
PHI/TAM OVER 7 of L9
PHI/TAM OVER 3 of 4 series
PHI/TAM at TAM OVER 4 of L5
PHI OVER 5 of L6
TAM OVER 4 of L6
PHI AVG 6.5 GPG (total both teams) playoff game5's to date
TAM AVG 5 GPG (total both teams) playoff game5's to date
PHI road playoff games AVG 5.2 GPG (total both teams)
TAM home playoff games AVG 4.5 GPG (total both teams)
Teams both average 27+ SOG and SOG allowed per game playoffs home/road respectively
PHI AVG 5.4 GPG L5 (total both teams)
TAM AVG 5.2 GPG L5 (total both teams)
PHI AVG 5.0 GPG SEASON ROAD (total both teams)
TAM AVG 5.3 GPG SEASON HOME (total both teams)
I would normally lean (as last night's CAL/SAN game) to a lower scoring game. However, neither team has had much luck stopping the other teams offensive strengths. There have been a ton of chances at both ends of the ice and it is really amzing more goals haven't been scored so far. Basically due to 1 of the 2 teams not showing up in each game so far. PHI hasn't been able to neutralize TAM odd man breaks and speed...and TAM has had no answer for PHI combo of speed and strength down low which has created numerous chances. Neither team has generated much on the powerplay so far in this series. You have to think that will change at some point with all the skill on the ice. Shortys are always a possibility, as well, with these 2 teams.
This game is a crapshoot. Home teams in game5's only 5-6 and 2-3 when series is tied at 2-2. Team that wins game5 wins series a little over 80% of the time FYI.
Best play IMO is the OVER 4.5 in this one, based on stats, trends and the matchup series to date. Only thing you can't control is hot goaltending.
GL to everyone!

Overs are hard to get, i used to think it would be easy before playoffs began because all u need is 2 goals each but it seems like a game needs 3 goals in first period just to get 5 in the game......

CC- man did we hang on last night BARELY....everything is hard to get at this point in the NHL playoffs. The one thing this series has that the SAN/CAL series doesn't is matchup problems for each team. CAL and SAN are very similiar teams and don't really present much of a problem for each other on offense. A lot of those goals have been via POOR defense and BAD goaltending. PHI series is a little different. These teams don't match up well with each other in trying to negate each other's offensive strengths. I'm just really bored right now, since i don't really bet bases, but i'm still hanging around because i enjoy the NHL forum and PHI is still alive. I may play this over for a couple of units..haven't decided yet. At any rate.....just dug that stuff up and wanted to post it. GL!

What's your thoughts on the next Calgary & San Jose game. Think the home team just might win one?
I am definitely leaning towards Calgary. But just don't know yet?
Your thoughts?

DNAW- i was doing some research into that series and i found something that really made me like CAL tomorrow. SAN defense really only relies on 4 guys, and from the reports that i saw, they are absolutely dead tired at this point in the playoffs. It didn't show early, but after a 6 game COL series and now this series, they are spent. That lead to them being out of position and unable to recover after 2 HORRIBLE giveaways that led to CAL goals last night. CAL has so much speed, that if that is the case, they are bound to get some more great scoring chances tomorrow. I haven't looked at the line. I am also interested in the total in this one. I will post some opinions later tonight. May not play anything, though.

Bucks- it was over when they allowed 3 PP goals and forgot the game started in the 1st period and not the middle of the 2nd. PHI hasn't shown up after wins most of the time this playoff season. They win a game and think, OK, siesta time. They are finished. They are incapable of putting back to back strong 60 minute games together. TAM won't lose twice in a row! and by the way.....ROENICK YOU ARE A GIANT PIECE OF CRAP!!....what a waste...he doesn't even have a point in the series and only had 1 SOG tonight!

Hey FF.....it sucks that PHI lost tonights game but u mustn't lose hope......look at the CGY-SJ series.....I don't think anyone, other than JB, could have predicted that CGY would win the first 3 games in SJ.....To win 3 games at the tank, where the Sharks boasted the best home record in the Reg Season, sounds highly unlikely but IT HAPPENED and it happened because the playoffs are so unpredictable right now. Everything that u think should hit fairly easily DOESN'T.....and everything that u think has no chance of hitting DOES. It's weird that way...but with that being said, PHI could very well play their best 2 games of the playoffs in Gms 6&7 because u don't think that could ever happen.....(back to back games with the same intensity). Fortunately I am a Penguins fan and don't have to worry about my team being eliminated from the playoffs and as an added bonus, they finished last overall which means anything they do hereon out is a plus..lol.....GO PHI and GO CGY

Thanks for the over, i took it. However I parlayed it with texas Rangers...sounds bad? Well I parlayed Indiana under with texas, and Miami +4 with texas, and basically....a disasterous day..:flush:

CC- that's tough when you have 3 parlays tied to 1 game...and of course, the one that loses is the one you always have in all the parlays...it's like murphy's law of gambling...GL tomorrow!

bucks- i guess the thing that really pisses me off is that PHI hasn't learned the lesson about playing hard ALL the time. They went up 2-0 against TOR and laid back to back eggs in TOR. I thought they had finally gotten over the hurdle after playing a strong game6 in TOR....but here we are back to the same crap...they win game2 and then relax in game3...win game4 and relax to start game5. I personally think they win game6, but TAM will outwork them in game7........PHI/PIT 400OT's is still one of the 2 best playoff games i have seen (Yzerman's OT winner 1-0 over STL in game7 back in '97was awesome too). I went to a game in PIT this year (saw NJD on a friday night in late october)...they had 10,000 people...pretty sad...they REALLY need a new arena. That place is run down. GL!
