Rather than specify certain tourneys through the French Open, figured I would start this one ....

Current tourney: Hamburg
Gotta like Moya and Coria to go a long way here. Moya has a shot at being number one in the world if he plays well throughout the season...and he is playing well now. Coria remains a magician on the court.

Some interesting matches setting up. The rankings beside the name are for clay court only..

As of now, the top three picks are all I will play but I also like Hewitt(67) over Saretta(39)...that may offer some value.

As usual, I like Moya (3) over Verdasco (22). Moya is rolling, and is 2-0 lifetime agaisnt Verdasco.

Safin (36) over Melzer (155). Rankings and the fact that Safin is once more extremely dangerous...

Coria (1) over Robredo (6). Coria is well Coria, and is 2-1 against Robredo and has won the last two. Still, a tight match and perhaps one to avoid. But I love Coria's game, so will throw down a little on it.

Also will look at Federer (21) v GonzaleZ (9)...hard to pass up if Federer is not favored despite the surface.

Also will probably play Ljubicic (43) over Pavel (93) for the hell of it.

Ththehehthehthe thats all Sam!!!:yeah: :gulp:

is playing against Federer....I will look at the odds..if Federer is not favored,I tak Federer..he is the best pure player in the world right now in my opinion.... but will check odds....he is best on hard and grass no doubt. I hope he is an underdog on clay.

I decided to hell with it and placed all available funds on MOYA. Funds of the man's, that is. If he tanks out, I am done for this tourney:but why spread the risk? Moya or nothing today...if he rolls will check things out later...

Clearly the best matchup in Hamburg tomorrow is the Federer (21) v Moya (3). No play for me! Like em both....Federer is 3-0 vs Moya, but all on hard courts.

Other matches are

Hewitt (36) v Melzer (155)...this is the play for me. Hewitt. They have never played one another.

Ljubicic (43) v Youzhny (66) Never played one another.

Coria (1) v Ferrer (29)...I bet Coria until he loses. Coria is 2-1 lifetime, all on clay.

Federer remains amazing....on a heck of a run...and getting ready for the French...

:yeah:

"Federer captured this title for the second time in three years. Coria, the defending champion who was seeded second to Federer, had a clay-court winning streak dating to the 2003 French Open semifinals.

``It's fantastic,'' Federer said. ``I am very proud win here for the second time. I have been playing incredible tennis for the last 12 months. I am winning every third tournament I play -- that's crazy.''

I consider that I am writing this analysis for a cult of one:myself. Given that, I have decided to write this up as I would care to read it...and I care to have one funnel of champagne (inexpensive but delicious...we live in the Golden Age of Spirits, with the world awash in well crafted fine wines of all sorts.
But I digress..., distracted by the pop of a cork...

Now as to the matter at hand: clay court tennis. Prep tournaments for the French Open in Casablanca and in St. Polten.

Casablanca: HRBATY. 2-0 lifeteime against his opponent. Hrbaty plays well on hard courts as well, but this one is of course on clay. He should dominate the 256th rated clay courter Benneteau.

Casablanca: ROCHUS over a Qualifier, Ventura, who has come out of nowhere. Rochus, #53 on clay, should end Ventura's unexpected roll.

St Polten is more dicey.
Volanndri #15 vs David Sanchez #17. Sanchez had an easy match over Davydenko, who retired after a pulled chest muscle (note to French Open bettors:Davydenko is injured.) No idea who wins this match. I feel Sanchez but don't bet on feelings.

Melzer vs Malisse: another problematic play. Melzer has been on a roll, and will have home court advantage. The two have never played one another. Were I to bet, I would go with MELZER. I like Malisse's game though; will wait until they are almost on court to bet this if at all.

Cheers.
