The contest for May will use MLB totals. It will be totals only and will start on May 1!
Here's a general overview and official rules:
1. The play of the day thread (place to post) will be in the MLB foum daily.
2. Once the thread is open you are free to post your play of the day. The play of the day means the play of the day. One play and make it your strongest selection on the days board.
3. When posting your selection please post the line as it helps in grading. (this is not mandatory though) All totals will be risking -110 to win +100. All plays will stand regardless of pitching changes. The game must go the full length or it will be a no play.
4. Lines will be posted by midnight CST or earlier, you must choose from the lines posted. If a game does not have a line you can't use it!
5. You can play as many or as few days during the month as you want. Keep in mind its only one selection per day though. In order to qualify for the monthly prize you will need to make a minimum of 20 selections throughout the month. Ties do not count toward the minimum. All plays will be graded as action plays so you can not specify starting pitcher.
6. NO EDITING OF POSTS! Any edited post will be counted as a loss. Your first post will be the selection that counts unless there is a postponement then you can select another game.
7. The winner will receive a $150 wagering account and the second place finisher will receive a $50 wagering account courtesy of Olympic Sports. In the event of a tie, we will come up with a tiebreaker to be announced. Accounts are on a 6x rollover and no w/d for 30 days.
8. In order to participate in this contest you will need to sign up for a free account at Olympic Sports through this link!. You will also need to let Olympic Sports know that ultimatecapper.com referred you or you won't be eligible for the contest. If you already have an account there you are still eliglible to play.
9. Make note on a short card we might take the day off. It will be noted in the forum if this is the case.
10. One entry per household. Sorry, no wives, 4 yr olds, or family pets entering under separate names. Keep in mind I can query user logs and see who is using multiple names from the same ip number. You'd think a guy would only enter once, but twice I've caught players in contests with over 10 different posting names. Promote fairness, be a straightshooter!
11. Be patient with Jerbeek. Don't ride him if he doesn't have results up asap. Grading this is no easy task and we'd appreciate it if you gave him kudos for doing so. He's a great guy doing a major service for you.
This contest will run as long as it doesn't negatively affect the posting in the forum. What I mean by this is that I've seen good sites become garbage sites because people just bang the contests and leave. If the amount of regular posts suffers we might have to shut this down. Afterall, posts, traffic, and participation is what makes books sponsor us and is what keeps us in business. I think we'll be ok but I have to throw this in just in case the situation arises.
*Players are only eligible to win this contest once per 12 months.
Lastly, please consider posting up at Olympic Sports to show them your appreciate for all the contest sponsorship on this site. It also helps keep us in business!
Good luck! We will all benefit from such a great tool! Big thanks to Jerbeek for keeping tabs on the results and Olympic Sports for the sponsorship!
