My numbers are unambiguous. UAB is better this year, but not enough to be within 3.5 points. Last season, Memphis went on the road to beat UAB 25-9. Memphis is 6-2-1 ATS versus teams with a losing record. UAB is 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 home games.
The situation at QB for Memphis is not great, but it could be a lot worse. Memphis starting QB Arkelon Hall has returned to the lineup. His numbers last week were not good at 10 of 25 (40%) for 178 yards, no TDs, and one INT. His numbers for this season are much better at 98 of 171 (57.3%) for 1,247 yards (7.3 yards per attempt, 249.4 yards per game), 4 TDs and 4 INTs.
Memphis kicker Matt Reagan had to be replaced before last week's game, which usually spells disaster. Freshman Vinny Zaccario hit all three field-goal attempts (20, 37 and 40 yards), but had one extra point attempt blocked.
UAB starting RB Aaron Johns has a foot injury and did not play for the second time last week.
