So does this instantly make the Saints a contender in the NFC? It doesn't hurt. A new environment for Shockey could be just what he needs. Of course returning from his latest injury and avoiding future injuries is huge but the Saints are looking to bounce back for a much better season this season and this is a nice new piece to the puzzle.
