Dances With Money

I'm soon to be doing a mock draft at a fantasy football site and so I figured, what the hell, I might as well get some of my early predictions out there... Here's ten to chew on before summer officially hits the airways. (These are things you might not believe, but, as a wise man once said, 60% of the time... it works every time... So hey, 60% of these are locks...
10 picks to play with...
1. Marion Barber scores more fantasy points than Adrian Peterson.
2. Jay Cutler is a top 10 fantasy quarterback this season.
3. Maurice Jones Drew finishes the season with more carries, yards, touchdowns, and of course fantasy points than Fred Taylor.
4. Calvin Johnson will out-produce Roy Williams.
5. LenDale White will increase his fantasy production from 2007.
6. Reggie Bush will score more touchdowns in 2008 then he did in his first 2 years combined (14).
7. Tom Brady won't throw more than 30 touchdowns in 2008.
8. Trent Edwards will have a better fantasy season than Matt Leinart, Matt Ryan, JaMarcus Russell, Alex Smith, and Jason Campbell.
9. Plaxico Burress will miss at least 5 games during the regular season.
10. Michael Turner will rush for 1200+ yards in Atlanta.
Crazy? Maybe... But 60% of these lines are ready to stun. Which ones don't have a chance?

Ha - I don't know, 60% - that seems like a stretch, bub.
Here are some of my predictions based off of your predictions.
AP definitely outdoes Marion Barber - don't be such a fool.
Matt Leinart will have the best season of those quarterbacks you listed, and I don't even know if your horse, Trent Edwards, will be in the Top 3.
And lastly, Tom Brady will rock at least 35 touchdowns in 08.
Way to put your neck out there, I guess the proof will be in the cereal this coming season.
Thanks for the info...

1. Marion Barber scores more fantasy points than Adrian Peterson.
Unless your fantasy scoring system rewards yards very heavily this could be on the money. Teams will stack the line to stop Peterson, won't have that luxury attempting to stop Barber.
2. Jay Cutler is a top 10 fantasy quarterback this season.
Without too many great QBs in the league this could happen by default.
3. Maurice Jones Drew finishes the season with more carries, yards, touchdowns, and of course fantasy points than Fred Taylor.
Agree here but not exactly going out a limb.
4. Calvin Johnson will out-produce Roy Williams.
Neither will be great so not sure it matters too much but you could be right.
5. LenDale White will increase his fantasy production from 2007.
Absolutely.
6. Reggie Bush will score more touchdowns in 2008 then he did in his first 2 years combined (14).
That's a stretch.
7. Tom Brady won't throw more than 30 touchdowns in 2008.
Absolutely right. The Pats want to run more and if healthy and equipped to do so, will run much more this season. However, 24 TD passes still makes him a top fantasy QB.
8. Trent Edwards will have a better fantasy season than Matt Leinart, Matt Ryan, JaMarcus Russell, Alex Smith, and Jason Campbell.
My first read of that I thought, no way - that's a lot of guys to be better than but it may not be too far fetched.
9. Plaxico Burress will miss at least 5 games during the regular season.
More than likely, yes.
10. Michael Turner will rush for 1200+ yards in Atlanta.
No way. Not this year. They have nobody around him and will be behind too often to run the ball this much.

I like the bold predictions but a number of those are quite unlikely to occur...
Barber >>> Peterson... I love Barber and think this is a very bold prediction. However Peterson is all-world and he should only improve on his 2007 numbers, making this unlikely
2,3 and 4 could definitely happen if the cards unfold the right way.
LenDale White will have similar production in 2008, making him a decent RB2 in fantasy circles.
Bush is an enigma. He has the talent to score 14+ touchdowns but has struggled bigtime rushing the football in the NFL. I think he has his best season yet but 14+ touchdowns is quite ambitious.
Brady has a great chance to toss over 30 touchdowns again although the law of averages says that number is just as likely to drop under 30. We will see. I will say that I believe Maroney becomes a 1,300+ rushing yard back this season and that the Patriots will run more in 2008.
Trent Edwards may out-perform each of those QBs mentioned (although Leinart will beat him easily if he holds off Warner all season). However that doesn't mean Edwards will have true fantasy value as each of those with the exception of Warner should slot outside the top-20 of their position.
Turner may rush for 1,200 yards but behind that OL in Atlanta would need 350 carries to get there. Not saying it won't happen but he'll need a ton of touches. I like him though.
Love the predictions! Nice work.
Few of my more extreme thoughts...
Rookie RB Chris Johnson becomes a game-breaker, scoring 6-8 touchdowns and proving to be a true dual-threat from the backfield...
WR Andre Johnson becomes the top fantasy receiver of 2008.
WR Mark Clayton of the Ravens becomes a top-15 fantasy WR
RB Brandon Jacobs finishes in the top-seven in FP/ game played
QB Ben Roethlisberger finishes top-three in FF this season at the QB position.
WR Donald Driver falls outside of the top-36 receivers
QB Jon Kitna's ship has sailed and by the mid point of the season, local hero, Drew Stanton will be leading the offense.
