Power Rankings Right Now
(this is how I see it, record predicted on the right)

1. Patriots (14-2) - Best team, easy conference
2. Chargers (13-3) - Most talented team, easiest conference
3. Jaguars (12-4) - Better than the Colts?
4. Colts (12-4) - This might be the year the Colts don't take their division
5. Cowboys (12-4) - The best in a very competitive NFC East
6. Steelers (11-5) - This is a very good team, Big Ben will flourish
7. Eagles (10-6) - McNabb is still one of the best players in the game, just wait
8. Seahawks (10-6) - The West should be more competitive, but I like this team
9. Titans (10-6) - Titans will improve on offense in Vince's 3rd season
10. Saints (10-6) - New Orleans should be back, but only if their secondary improves
11. Packers (10-6) - Aaron Rodgers can do enough, but how will this team do on D?
12. Vikings (9-7) - The Vikings could be the last team in from the NFC, Jackson?
13. Giants (8-8) - I don't see Eli producing Peyton-like numbers, no playoffs for champs
14. Cardinals (9-7) - Arizona could snipe the Hawks in the West, will be close
15. Broncos (9-7) - Denver has 4 games against KC and Oakland, so there's 4 wins
16. Browns (8-8) - Cleveland won't sneak up on anyone, and their schedule is tough
17. Buccaneers (8-8) - The Buccos might be able to sneak it, but it will be a tough one
18. Panthers (8-8) - Panthers, Saints, or Bucs? I can't say Carolina is the best there
19. Jets (8-8) - The Jets will be better, but they still have too many questions on D
20. Ravens (7-9) - Boom or bust for the Ravens, could surprise, but D is getting old
21. Bears (7-9) - Chicago might be back at the top of the North, but it depends on Rex
22. Redskins (7-9) - Too much youth, but I like this team moving forward - next year!
23. Texans (7-9) - A tough conference- Texans aren't bad, but still worst in the South
24. Rams (7-9) - St. Louis, like the Cards, could turn it around and take the West
25. Bills (7-9) - I like the Bills, but they overachieved last year, under .500 this time
26. Lions (6-10) - 10 wins, eh Kitna? Try 10 losses - this team didn't get better
27. Bengals (6-10) - What a freaking circus - it's sad to see Carson waste years in Cinci
28. Dolphins (5-11) - I guarantee they won't be the worst team in 2008
29. 49ers (5-11) - San Fran doesn't impress me - Nate is good, but he can't do it alone
30. Raiders (5-11) - They were better last year, but question marks always surround Al
31. Chiefs (5-11) - Got a lot younger and will be much improved a year from now
32. Falcons (3-13) - Matt Ryan can only help this team go up from here

Any disagreements?

The Jaguars #3? I don't buy that one...

The Chargers are ready to disappoint, and the Cowboys have only gotten better.

You must be an Eagle guy to put Philly up that high.

Vince Young stinks, and the Titans will lose a lot this season.

I expect the Giants to compete for a title again - that stretch to the Championship was more of the rule than a fluke exception.

The Saints, Hawks, and Packers won't be in your Top 12 come December - you'll see. They'll be replaced by the Bucs, Bears, and Panthers.

I like what you see in the Steelers - they could be very good.

Also, the Bengals and Lions at 6-10 - good call.

I like the Jags at #3, but I still think the Colts and Patriots are better than the Chargers.

I agree with Dances, the Giants don't scare me much this year - but then again, they seemed like the weakest playoff team headed in last season. See "Patriot Killer" to find how that worked out.

Hawks for the Championship! Whoop!:punch:

I guess the Chargers at 2 might be high, but I definitely have seen the way they match up with the best teams in the league, and it's rare that they don't have the advantage most of the time.

Sure, say what you want about Phillip Rivers and his powder puff arm, but he gets the job done, and I'd much rather have him that Ellie Manning.

Yeah, yeah, Eli's a super bowl winner, and apparently that goes a long way, but the guy threw a crap load of picks last year, and I see him doing more of the same this time out. No, I don't think the Gents will be back in the playoffs - but we'll see.

Jags, I like their style, even though they spent too much draft pickage on the big Florida defensive end. I still think that's a better move than going after an old guy like Jason Taylor. HOwever, Taylor is a sure thing right now, and I don't think he would have cost all those picks.

I still like my Power Rankings - but we'll see.

I am starting to think that I might like the Rams to finish a little higher - I think this team got better, and their schedule this season looks a hell of a lot better than their games lat year...

We'll see, but the Hawks could be looking up at the Rams if they're not careful. :fire::surrend:

Thanks Elvis,

I have all these thoughts running around in my mind, I figure, what the hey, might as well share it.

Be ware of the Giants this season, everyone and their pocketbooks are going to expect them to roll out like they did over their last 6 games, but I don't buy it.

Anyway, thanks for the thanks...

How is Philly so far down? atleast a top 5 team! Offense is finally healthy, Westbrook, and Mcnabb top 5 at their respected positions! Not to mention they added solid free agents to the D

Solid list. And hey it's mid-June, it's tough enough after pre-season much less so early. My thoughts on your list:

Pats remain the cream of the crop in the NFL.

The Chargers season could depend a lot on how quickly and how well Rivers bounces back after surgery. I may have them down a few spots at this point.

Absolutely agree with you on the Jags. This team is very solid and if they stay healthy could win the division and with a years experience after last years playoff stint will have learned a lot and be dangerous for anybody in the post season.

Colts are due to fall from the graces, their window is closing. They will still be tough to beat certainly but don't be surprised if this team ends up a big disappointment this year.

And the Steelers really the only other team likely to be prominently in the AFC SuperBowl picture. Titans are a fringe team but not ready to be considered an elite team.

In the NFC the Cowboys likely the best of the bunch but you're right to have them below so many AFC teams overall. However playing in a brutal division takes it's toll on this team.

For the Eagles McNabb must stay healthy, if he does he can have a nice bounce back year.

Part of the NFC trouble is that after these two - perhaps even after just Dallas the drop off is significant and there's a big bunch of OK teams in the NFC.

Seattle benefits from a terrible division, the Saints give up way too many points.

The Packers have plenty of talent but a very inexperienced QB taking over is a tough situation.

And the Vikings are very good at a lot of spots - except QB and that's more than a minor problem!

On the bottom side, the Bills could be a bit better than you have them if they are healthier this season but still not a very good team.

Seahawks, Titans, Saints, Packers are all up way to high. 49ers, Bills, Texans, and Redskins are too low. Just my opinion. However, I believe that the Texans and Redskins both have a legitimate shot at the playoffs.
