I'm hoping some of you techies out there have had to do this before. We just bought a new second PC and now I can move my teenage daughter off of my machine. She has quite a few gig of music for her IPOD. I've been told you can't just transfer it to the IPOD then back down to the new machine. Anybody ever had to do this?
Do appreciate!

You cannot transfer the files from your ipod to your PC with iTunes (I'm assuming you use iTunes to transfer the files ON to your ipod). Why you can't, I have no idea, but you can't. You need a program that does. EphPod works fine (and it's a free download). Not sure where I got it, but I'm sure if you googled EphPod, you'd find it.
Or, I think you can also buy one at stores.

Oh yea, if you know how to set up networking, and assuming you have a router that both comptuers connect to, you can actually send the files from one computer directly to the other over your internet connection. I had alot more to send than mp3's, so that's what I did.....although the ipod thing should work fine too.
Or you could burn a CD with the files on it, and then copy them from the CD to the other computer.
Hope one of these solutions works out

I'll have to look into this some more. She said you couldn't burn them to CD and transfer them to another PC. I do have a router hooked up jost never bothered setting up the network. That might be the way to go!!
I do appreciate the help! I'm tellin ya you can get just about any help from this website!
