I asked for and have now received my second check from Sportsbook.com in the last month. Just wanted to post this to let everyone know, it APPEARS that they are doing business normally.

Thanks for the heads up...they seem pretty flexible with credit cards; thoughts on this?

I've been using their PokerRoom and I had no problems depositing using my credit card.

I have been with them for a couple of months and they have been nothing but a pain in the ass. They have requested various info that they now want me to fax to them to prove my identity for my third or forth withdrawl. Apparently the didn't need this info until now. They want cody of my photo ID, voided blank check, and a copy of my CC statement with the CC number and the billing address. I am extremely frustrated with them, it is impossible to talk with someone I can understand, and I don't feel comfortable sending out all of that info to some random fuck.. I give up.. I geuss I'll just have to lose my money in there so I don't have to worry about cashing out.

simple......books don't treat everyone the same. If you are a Purdue fan, they usually look at how your football and basketball team is doing/did and whether or not your recruiting class was ranked last in the big10 for 2007....stuff like that, and if they feel sorry for you they just cut you a check ASAP. usually they treat people like pnorth got treated.
in all seriousness, books play games with you. i had that issue with a sister book of theirs on like my 3rd and 4th W/D. suddenly they needed information they never needed before. i sent it to them and told them to pound salt if they ever dicked with FlyersFan again....they didn't...never had an issue again with them. so it does happen.....

Had to do the same thing with Sportsbook (scan my CC statement, ID, ect.)
I was extremely mad at first and didn't feel it was necessary, but my options were very limited, so I did it.
Never had any problems since. Had a few withdraws, everything went fine.

Even though FF thinks these recruiting services are the greatest....check out Fla State, Penn State, etc recruiting vs. results the last few years as well as maybe Wake Forest and Louisville and maybe throw in Boise.... he is right about books.
I have NEVER had an issue with Sportsbook.com. I have been using them for 5 years. The only issue I have ever had with them was when I changed my address and even that wasnt too bad as in the end, I think they were protecting me as much as themselves. It could be because I have not been a serial withdrawer. I also withdraw less than 1000 a pop, ....maybe it is less visible ... I dont know.
I made my last deposit with them in Feb 2004. I have not made any withdrawals until just recently which was just to reduce my risk in case everything went to hell. I used my ATM Debit card with Visa and had no problems then. Of course, Sportsbook has since been bought out privately.
I still liked Pinnacle better because of the lines and I also had a Canbet account which I had to liquidate because of the crap going down...
Just my experience. I have another friend who has used them without much issue as well.

I had some problems like described above in the past(hassling for documents, copies, etc.), but everything went OK eventually and I always got my money.
I heard they had changed ownership and they are one of the few books left that I've used for a long time, so I gave them another try.
Made a small deposit on Saturday to bet on the game. Made a withdrawal request for my winnings on Monday, and had an email on Wednesday saying a check had been sent FedEx and I should have it in two days. I am very happy with the service I got this time, I even had to change my address along with my withdrawal and it was a very easy process.
Good to know there are some trustworthy big books still left out there. Hopefully they continue to operate.

Yes, banks are required to file paperwork and report any checks over $1000.

So they are required to report my paycheck every two weeks by this logic? This makes NO sense. I could see over 5000 or something but 1000?

I'm pretty sure it's 10,000 not 1,000 but I could be wrong...

Its actually cash over 10000
checks over 10000 would be way too much reporting

For a slot machine I believe you must report over $1500 if I'm not mistaken.

You guys may be right on the $10,000 figure. I took a class on white collar-ish business transactions last year and learned it there. $1000 does seem kind of low now that I think about it...
