New tour more picks for a week.

4 * Mirza, Sania v Castano, Catalina - Mirza, Sania to win @ $1.46

Mirza hasnt been playing too badly nor has Castano would expect the odds to be a bit higher for Mirza but she is the more popular of the two. So most of the public tend to go for the names they know. Castano had a poor Australian Open after a rather good tour around Australia defeating some rather big names. However I think Mirza should be in good form here expect her to get a win here.

5 * Safina, Dinara v Krajicek, Michaella - Safina, Dinara to win Best of 3 Sets - 2-0 @ $1.50

Safina has had a rather successful time on the Hardcourts so far this season and the sensational form up in the Gold Coast shows that. As she was able to capture the title while beating some tough competition. The Sydney lost was a setback. Melbourne was also a bit of a disappointment but I don't think losing to the rapidly rising star in Li is anything to be too disappointed about. Michaella entered this season with high hopes but has yet to capture a Victory this year. I don't think the Hard courts suit her play at all. She does hold the head to head against Safina but that win was on grass and on grass its a whole different ballgame. Krajicek is also low on confidence and being young she is going to find it hard to get back up against the powerful Safina. I expect Krajicek will have to wait even longer before she is able to get her first win of the season.

3 * Fedak, Yuliana v Obziler, Tzipora - Fedak, Yuliana to win @ $1.90

Fedak has been playing good this season entering this matchup with her current YTD record being 7-3 (6 wins came from qualifers though) The only thing that has been dissapointing for Fedak this season is the 1st round loss in Melbourne to Azarenka where she went down in 3 sets. Prior to that she had shown some good signs with a big win against Bartoli in Sydney. Obziler leads in the head to head against Fedak 2-1 but the last time these two played was on Clay back in 05. A game which Fedak won. Obziler hasnt had the best of seasons thus far. With a record of 3-2 this year. With all those 3 wins coming in qualifers at Hobart. Also one thing I really like about this matchup is its 23 year old Fedak v 33 year old Obziler. I like Fedak here and I think it could be a good win.

I'll post up another play up in half an hour or so.

WTA Pattaya Round 1

2 * Kudryavtseva, Alla v Yuan, Meng - Kudryavtseva, All to win @ $2.10

Was thinking about this game for a while, After seeing Meng play against Harkleroad I didnt think too much of her I didnt feel like she had a strong part of her game at all - perhaps anything to just keep the rally going - and attempt to force her opponent to hit risky winners, her only wins this year have been in qualifers. Alla on the other hand is a good talent She is coming off what I would say was a good Australian Open campaign allthough she lost in the 2nd Round the fact she made it through the qualifers and pass Emma Laine in the first round was quite good for this young girl. Also she lost to Martina Hingis in the 2nd round and I doubt that many people thought she would win there. I believe the odds are rather high and it is a good chance to hit the bookies here.

3 * Dechy, Nathalie v Garbin, Tathiana - Garbin, Tathiana to win @ $1.85

I usually hate going against home countries in first rounds but I have a feeling here Garbin isnt going to leave me out to dry today. She has played well this season with only 2 losses coming at the hands of the Sharapova and Hingis in Melbourne and Gold Coast respectively, Dechy hasnt shown any form this year - The loss in Sydney in Qualifers against Crybas was a set back and went down to Hingis in Melbourne. Dechy leads the head to head here 1-0 but that game was all the way back in 2000 in the Gold Coast and since then many things have changed.

5 * Santangelo, Mara v Kudryavtseva, Alla - Santangelo, Mara @ $1.36

I really like Mara in this matchup she wasnt overly impressive in her first match on Monday where she won in 3 sets. But I don't think Alla was that great either it took her 3 Sets to dispatch Yuan. Mara I feel was unlucky in Melbourne when she drew Serena in the 1st round.

WTA Paris Round 1

3 * Medina Garrigues, Anabel v Bremond, Severine - Bremond, Severine to win @ $1.95

This is a game that could go either way. However I believe recently that Bremond has shown some good form this season. Excluding the open. Also playing in Paris will work in her favour. As we have seen most people who play in their home country in the 1st Round of these tournaments often get through. The ranking difference isnt much in this case. Medina holds the head to head record but it was on Clay back in 2000.

5 * Safina, Dinara v Pin, Camille - Safina, Dinara to win - Best Out of 3 Sets - 2-0 @ $1.31

Safina is looking great cant really see the young Pin getting much here she had an impressive time in Melbourne during Qualifying but I dont see her getting much even in front of her home country. Safina will be looking to cruise into the next round.

Bad day yesterday lets see how today goes

WTA Pattaya Round 2

3 * Nakamura, Aiko v Obziler, Tzipora - Nakamura, Aiko to win @ $1.75

Aiko was impressive in the Australian Open this year getting big wins against Mirza and Daniilidou before going down to Hingis. She had a rather dissapointing time at Tokyo. But I believe these odds are pretty good and I'm willing to take them at this price, as I have faith that Aiko can win here.

1 * King, Vania v Pratt, Nicole - Pratt, Nicole to win @ $2.35

I think this play looks good the only thing really stopping me from risking anymore money on it is the head to head record between these two which King leads 1-0. Coming into this tournament King has had a rather dissapointing time on tour. She didnt make it past qualifying in Tokyo, lost in the first round of Sydney and Melbourne and Gold Coast. Nicole Pratt on the other hand has had mixed results (some rather good ones though). Pratt made it through qualifying in Tokyo and ended up losing to Martina Hingis in the 2nd Round. Had a really dissapointing Australian Open as she lost to Razzano. The highlight of her season thus far wouldhave to be the win she got over Safina in Sydney. After that she lost to Kimmy and in Gold Coast Hingis had her number yet again. Furthermore Pratt is coming off a rather big win from last round knocking off Kirilenko I think she will have the confidence to continue towards the later rounds (Heres hoping she can get to the Semis) But to be honest just getting to the Quarters would make me Happy :)

WTA Paris Round 2
5 * Muller, Martina v Petrova, Nadia - Petrova Nadia to win - Best out of 3 Sets - 2-0 @ $1.22

Basically main reason here is Nadia holds a 2-0 Head to Head record here with the most recent game between the two being at the Australia Open a match in which Nadia dominated and was able to capture in 2 sets. Both times these two women have faced each other it has always ended up with Nadia winning 2-0. I think today will look to continue the trend.

5 * Peng, Shuai v Bammer, Sybille - Peng, Shuai to win @ $1.50

Bammer has had a great tournament thus far, as she has dispatched the 7th seed Bardina also she was able to beat Sucha in a tough 3 setter in the quarters. Peng didnt have as tough of a challange as Bammer I believe and she is coming off a rather easy win against Obziler. Also Peng holds a 1-0 record against Bammer.
