Very poor card. They are doing PPV's every month, but the quality has seriously declined.
Seriosuly considering skipping this card to watch:
SHOWTIME Championship Boxing
Saturday, March 3 2007
MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV
Israel Vazquez vs. Rafael Marquez (super bantamweights)
Now THAT is a good fight.
Hughes vs Lytle - For what?
Lose-Lose situation for Hughes.
Franklin vs McDonald
Franklin comming off 1 loss after smashing competition and McDonald gets to fight the former champ for beating 2 TUF fighters. I mean, McDonald is cool as hell and has some serious skills but most people only know him for his last 2 wins. Franklin is going to run through him.
Sylvia vs Couture
Well, considered Couture is a true heavy and fought the majority of his career there this shouldn't be as hyped as it is. What a snooze fest...
Sobral vs Lambert is the only fight I am looking forward to. I would like to see Hamill but it seems like they are putting him on the pre-lims.
I know I'm bitching, but seriously...what a crappy card.
UFC 69 isn't even that great but it should blow this one out of the water...

I don't know right now, they both can bang. I may have to go with the bigger name on this one, Marquez. But, still a little undecided, only because I love watching Vazquez.
Just don't know right now, but I really have to say Marquez...

They are both Bantam/Superbantam...around 117-122
Both can really bang though.
Marquez 36-3 (32KO's) and hasn't lost a fight in 6 years (15 fights). Beat two great fighters in their Prime. Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson (twice) and took the belt from Tim Austin (was considered an upset to the media, but boxing fans knew he was going put on a clinic).
Israel Vazquez 41-3 (30KO's) with 1 loss in the last 7 years, to Oscar Larios. They had a rematch and Vazquez smashed him in 3 rounds. What a beating. His last fight was on a big PPV card (can't remember the header) but it was the best fight on the card. Each fighter down multiple times and Vazquez gets the KO in round 10. Great fight.
Ya, it's a low weigt class but it should still be a great fight. Watch 1 fight which has the potential to be huge (Showtime) or pay to watch 5 mediocre (on paper) fights. Still up in the air, but I really want to see Marquez vs Vasquez.
Matt Hamill. The deaf guy from TUF3 who trains with Punishment. Ton of power, wrestler, but lacks stamina for now.

something i found on another site......I was surprised how easily Silva was being taken down by Lutter.
Well, according to Joe Rogan in an Underground forum post today, Silva is still recovering from minor knee surgery on both knees.
Here’s a snip:

Anderson Silva had knee surgery on both knees just 11 weeks ago. That was why he was so easy to take down, and that was why he couldn’t squeeze 100% when he had Lutter in the triangle. I ran into his manager after the show and he told me the whole deal. His knees were still very sore. Later that night I ran into Anderson in the hotel, and he was limping like he was just double knee barred.
Crazy shit. If Travis ever had a chance, last night was it. Great fight, either way.
Interesting stuff
