Although Rex Grossman is playing well in his first season in the playoffs and has reached the Big Game, it was bound to happen. Brian Urlacer, the star of not only the defense, but team captain has disgraced his team, fans and family on the eve of Super Bowl 41. Although Bears owner and executive personel have tried to keep what happened last night quiet, the media is having a field day.
Brian Urlacer and an unidentified woman were approached by Dade County Sheriff's Department on a side street on the sultry side of Miami on or about 1:30 AM Super Bowl morning, parked along side a seedy bar known to law enforcement as the citiy's biggest drug haven. Although there seemed to be no wrong doing and was not charged with any crime, it somehow made its way to the media.
Team spokesman, William Morris, for the Chicago Bears is not releasing a statement but has gone on record as saying they (team owner) will meet with Brian this afternoon before practice to discuss his role in todays biggest game against one of the best teams in football, the Indianapolis Colts.
Roger Goodell, Commisioner fo the NFL and NFL players' union chief Gene Upshaw, will also meet with Brian today. Roger Goodell, speaking earlier in the week to the teams about their off field behavior during the biggest week of football has taken a turn for the worst. "We thought there would be something like this, but not from Chicago's star player" says Roger.
