Gees - Its only the first day and your already going against our Boys! - lol.

Best of Luck Corey.

Also I'm really really hoping Kirilenko wins tomorrow so I can get to see her on Wednesday. Oh btw this whole week is going to be really hot - Tomorrow is going to be like 30 degrees celcius which is around 90 Fahrenheit. And a bit of haze as well. I dont think the temp here will fall below 90 and I havent heard any chances of rain this week (although we need it badly as we are in a drought)

Yeah I'll most likely do the same as Wayne - sorry for hijacking the thread here Corey.

3 * MONACO, Juan v MAHUT, Nicolas - Juan Monaco to win @ $1.70

Monaco had the impressive preformances in Auckland espically against Oliver Rochus and wasnt too bad against fellow countryman Agustin. Mahut hasnt been too good this season as shown by his performances in Adelaide. But we will see how it will work out here.

"The biggest draw in women's tennis, Russian beauty Maria Sharapova, has promised to reveal a sexy new outfit to liven up the Australian Open.

The 19-year-old world number two earned an estimated 22 million dollars in endorsements last year, including the promotion of fashion products, and is a regular magazine covergirl, contracted to IMG Models since 2003

What she wears is watched as closely as how she plays.

Last year she set the Open on fire with her power blue baby doll nightie look, which became a must-have fashion accessory, and she said more was in store this week.
"Fashion-wise, I'm not doing baby doll any more. Baby doll has gone out the window," she said.
Asked what she had planned, she said: "It's a pretty classy dress. It's like a lemon chiffon colour.
"Bottom of the dress, it's like a little high waisted. I tend to pay a lot of attention to detail.
"There's a little corset detail in the back, there's a bow. My warm-up (outfit) is also really cute. You got to see it."

Gicquel won 3-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0!!!!
Greul lost 3-6, 4-6, 3-6
Djokovic won 6-1, 6-1, 6-0!!!!

I'm getting my ass kicked. Pure luck that I won the Verdasco bet as in the TB Mathieu sprained his ankle up 2-0 and 3-1 in the TB. Freakin X-Man. Playing brilliantly this season loses his nerve against Clement. Lacko god knows what happened to this young talent. Just looked like he didn't show up against a much more inferior player.

Malisse lost 3-6, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6
Verdasco won 6-7, 4-6, 6-6 (Mathieu retired)!!!!
Lacko lost 2-6, 6-3, 1-6, 4-6
Lapentti won 6-4, 6-4, 6-2!!!!

Men's Singles: 4-4 (-36.22 units)

From what I heard he played like he didn't give a shit. X-Man's problem has always been his head and once again he showed how immature he is. I just felt after his tourney win he would be motivated but once again he bit me in the ass. Not really sure all I know is dogs are proving to be amazing hits so far as the conditions are really taking there toll on players.

is a talented head case...a shame so many are like him. You gotta wonder what he will think about his career when it is all over:no way he has lived up to his natural gifts. But a mind is a terrible thing to waste isn't it?

Hang in there..the conditions look horrific down there.:gulp:

Wodnering if age is a real factor, especially with players who have already played a tough match (ie Arthurs)

Just came back from the Australian Open was a great way to spend a day. Was hot with a nice cool breeze blowing. Only saw 3 matches today though but most of them were good to watch.

Ashley Harkleroad is a terrific talent there - I loved watching her play and she is a great person. Perhaps the quality of the opposition wasnt the best - but none the less I loved seeing a female player come up to the net and hit some impressive volleys.

The 2nd match I watched was the Kirilenko match there were some good highlights of that match and as suspected most of the crowd was behind Maria - however Julia Vakulenko is quite a good talent out on the circuit I think she was unlucky and started to get a bit tired towards the end. Maria did well and got the win - However I failed my mission to get her Autograph as the next match was packed with the Serbian fans and other tennis fans watching the big doubles match with Jankovic and Hingis and all this on a small court on the outside courts - court 18 I think

The 3rd Match - I enjoyed a lot - Hrbaty v Spadea - The main reason for Hrbaty's win is he had a heap of Slovakian fans around the court - I think the fans really took away a lot of Vincents power and really lifted Hrbaty's game in the process. Loved the game as it was a close one all the way.

Mens Aussie Open 4-1 (+5.78 units)

Mirnyi +155 over Tursunov.....2 units

Grosjean +120 over O. Rochus.....5 units

Womens Aussie Open 0-0 (+0 units)

Probably no plays on the womens side until week 2. I hate laying all that juice. I am not knowledgeable enough about some of the lower-tier women to play their matches, although Corey, I wanted to thank you for the winner at -175 on Groenfield. Played her for a nice profit last night.

Mirnyi lost 2-6, 3-6, 6-7(4)
Grosjean won 4-6, 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4!!!

Mens Aussie Open 5-2 (+9.78 units)

Roddick -167 over Safin 16.70 units

Ferrer -145 over Stepanek 7.25 units

Adding one play....

Womens Aussie Open 0-0 (+0.00 units)

Serena Williams +155 over Petrova 2 units

WayneWonder
01-18-2007, 11:11 PM
Serena won 1-6, 7-5, 6-3!!!

A tale of two matches. Petrova was up a set and a break, serving to close out the match at 5-3 when Serena just ratcheted up her game. In the first set alone Serena had 18 unforced errors. During the last two sets, Petrova had 24. Really a tough, gutsy win by Serena and an unfortunate collapse by Petrova.

Womens Aussie Open: 1-0 (+3.10 units)
