I don't get this game. When I first started looking at these games Philly jumped at me as the best possible play of the weekend.
Based on previous years, at least one dog wins every weekend. Now either the Cowboys blew that trend or Jets or Giants win straight up.
THe line in the Eagles game started at -6 and moved to -7, but since then it hasn't moved and I really don't think it is going to move any more.
All I heard all week was how the Eagles will kill the Giants.
Please vote on the poll on what you have ACTUALLY PLAYED.
Thanks

IMO these teams play each other all the time and It will be a close one. The question is Can the Giants get some pressure on Garcia and force him to make some mistakes? I think he is playing on borrowed time. Didn't suck it up in detroit and Cleveland? I dunno just my two cents.

For those playing the G-Men (especially the ml), can someone tell me what they have seen that makes them think the Giants even keep this close?

I don't see how Garcia's play with the shitty ass offenses of the Lions and Browns can be held against him.
You could put Manning or Brady with those teams, and they'd suck too.
Just totally unfair to Garcia to be judged on playing with those teams.
I personally have a hard time seeing a Philly team who is on a roll blowing it against a team who has done absolutely nothing for almost 2 months now.
The public really isn't even that heavy on Philly. 64% ATS and 55% ML. 64% isn't high for the percentage on a fave at all, and, only 55% on the ML is actually low. Usually when there's an opinion like in this case, supposedly "that the Eagles will blow out the Giants" it's closer to 75-80% on the fave ML.
I think the +7 is keeping these percentages honest, as the public is doing the wrong thing and taking the points, even though they're not confident in the dog's ability to win SU.

Anothing thing to note about the "One dog always wins SU in round 1" theory, besides that Dallas probably should have last night and blew it, is that often a team comes in on a roll, winning like 6 in a row after starting 3-7, yet is an away team and is therefore normally the dog to the team with homefield and more wins....but often will win outright cause they are hot.
That situation doesn't apply to the Giants one bit....and acually it's the complete opposite, with the Eagles being the team who got it together and went on a late run to win the division, while the Giants nursed their early season record to a playoff berth.

Stiff, I went to last years PO thread of mine. One of the dogs are going to cover today and one only. But which one. ML on both after yesterday is out. I really don't feel a dog wins SU. A dog will cover and a fav will cover. My money says Jets and Philly. Philly is running on all cylinders. Giants need a tune up. Nine points is alot to give a team that only lost by 7 in the first meeting and won the second SU. J E T S Jets

Stif et al....
I have all my thoughts in my thread, but to answer your question.
The Giants will score 21 points. My question is can Philly score 28 or more. I am not so sure they can. With Garcia at the helm, Phillyonly topped 28 one time.........against the Giants.
I'm stuck on this one. Maybe the play for me should be Giants above the team total.

Better momentum.
More confidence.
Better QB.
Better defence.
Less injuries.

any given sunday. If anything that should be fresh in the minds of the giants.

Yea, but that game wasn't nearly a 14 point difference. 2 late TD's by Philly (one on defense) made that game look worse than it was.
Playoffs are a different animal all together than reg season, and IMO the reg season game results are all but useless for many factors in attmpting to cap a playoff game.
Some examples being:
Scheduling spots (letdowns and/or look aheads) during the reg season, which obviously should not happen in a playoff game
Momentum (or lack there of) coming in, which could have been totally different in past meeting
Changes in personnel (good or bad)
Guys who step it up (or fail) in big spots (playoffs) compared to the norm (reg season)
And, capping by final scores vs the same opponent can be as misleading as judging a team on one performace, like say what they did the week prior, and ignoring the other 15 games they played.

Philly for me. I can't see NYG winning the game, & the line @7 so I have to go Philly. One team is 6-2 last 8, the other 2-6. NY has proven to be terrible defensively, they haven't stopped anyone since November. In the past 9 games, the Giants have allowed under 23 pts in only 1game. It was their only win vs the Weinke-led Panthers. He threw for 418 yards. I would rather risk a no-cover with the hotter team, better D, better coaching, offense, kicking game, momentum. To play on the Giants, you have to hope
1. The Giants can suddenly play D. Westbrook is beyond dangerous-I'm predicting 140+ all purpose.
2. Eli can suddenly read a coverage/blitz package, & make all the right decisions in a pressure road playoff game.
3. Garcia suddenly sucks it up. To me he has only proved to be a winner.
4. Tiki to go off for 150+ yards
I really don't see this happening....
