Ferrero holds a 4-1 H2H advantage but they have not met since 2003. Massu played well here last year, making the quarters while JC is riding a 5 match losing streak into this tournament.

Peer's first chance and retribution since last week's collapse to Safina. I think she should have confidence coming off such a good week of tennis. Has lost to Patty twice previously, but she was able to make things difficult for her. Fatigue may factor in, but so may rust as Schnyder is making her first appearance of the new season.

Big News: Nadal Seems to be injured and not looking too good his right thigh seems to be in a bit of trouble here. - Could make the Aussie Open a bit rocky.

Edit: Yeah The Retirement wasnt that big of a shock - But I think Guccione played really well he showed off that he can match it against the best and it is an encouraging thing to see. Hopefully this form becomes a regular thing throughout the season.
