Reg Season YTD 133-100 (+86.21 units)
Dog ML's 21-24 (+7.93 units)
Playoffs 0-0
Indy -7
2.5 units
I guess it's pretty easy to think LJ runs all over the pathetic Indy defense here, huh? Public is pretty much split on this game, so why isn't this line moving down? Assuming KC is a super strong play and the sharpies know KC will run run run, and score score score?
Not so fast.
Indy is a different team at home, and with Bob Sanders playing. Peyton is ON FIRE, and will lite up this KC defense with play action and double moves by his WR's IMHO. Indy run defense will do enough early with Sanders back, and once Indy jumps out to the lead that I believe they should be able to, it will give KC no choice but to abandon the run and throw....which will play right into the hands of Indy.
So, pick the winner, get the spread winner, and KC isn't winning this game outright from where I stand.

I think you are right on with this one. Bob Sanders being back for Indy's D will make a big difference.

GL Stifster. If you were to hold a gun to my head, I'd take Indy. But Indy has scared me lately. KC has scared me even worse.

Seattle -1
Seattle/Dallas under 47.5 (+101)
2.5 units each
As for the Seattle play, I babbled enough about this game in JML and other's threads here during the week. Too much effort to type it all again.
The total is a Qunt fading play, LOL

Wow, the importance of getting the best line. I really didn't think the line would come into play, lol....but I wish i had coughed up an extra 5 cents juice and taken Seattle on the ML though at -115 now, lol
In all reality, that was a crazy and goofy game with the kick return, then the safety, missed 2 pt conversion and all that crap, so I'm more than happy with the push on Seattle -1.
The total was a solid winner though as the Qunt comes thru again :yeah:

reg season 133-100 (+86.21 units)
playoffs 2-0 (+5.03 units)
total 135-100 (+91.24 units)
Sunday:
New England Patriots -8.5
2.5 units
OK, so riddle me this. The Patriots beat the Jets 24-17 at NY, and lost at home 14-17, a 7 pt win and a 3 pt loss, yet this line is -8.5 (actually now higher).
Look like they're begging for NYJ money? It does to me.
First of all, I don't see how the Jets are going to move the ball today with any consistancy. Forget the numbers and all (which aren't very good either), has anyone actually watched this lame ass operation they call an offense? I don't know how they can go to Gillette stadium in a playoff game (or anywhere else for that matter) and expect to score more than 13-14 points with that style of play.
Which brings me to....
The Patriots offense. They should be able to run on NY. They should be able to throw on NY. I'm not saying they're gonna score 50, but I do think they get 24 to 28 minimum, and IMO that's enough to cover -8.5 pts, as I don't see the Jets getting out of the low teens.
I also think you can toss out the NYJ win over NE. It was directly following the Indy game, and sure looked like a let down spot for NE to me, despite losing the Indy game, and the Jets actually being in the Pats division. I don't think the Jets strike fear in the hearts of NE or anyone else, so they're (especially at that time) not hard to overlook in just another reg season game coming off a game against (at the time) an undefeated Colts team who was considered to be the best in the league.
Take a look at the Jets 10 wins:
1. Tennessee (in week 1, when Collins was still the QB and they BLEW)
2. Buffalo
3 & 4. Miami (twice)
5. Detroit
6. Minnesota
7. Green Bay
8. Houston
9. Oakland
10. New England
So they beat 1 playoff team, and were lucky to catch Tennessee before they got it together. It should also be noted that Buffalo kicked their asses in NY the 2nd time around. I am completely unimpressed by the Jets making the playoffs by navigating what was probably the easiest schedule in the NFL.
Then the players. Brady is the far more reliable playoff QB, and I think it's a losing proposition to go against him at home in the playoffs, especially with a team who his team is better than, and Bellichick just doesn't lose to the same team twice in a row, especially when that team just doesn't match up.
IMO New England comes prepared today, the teacher (Bellichick) teaches the student (Mangini) a lesson, and the Pats win this game. I really have no question in my mind that the Patriots advance today over what I feel are totally outmatched Jets, and therefore I'm laying the -8.5, rather than sitting here hoping the Jets can keep hanging in there, or can manage a backdoor cover at the end.
If the Jets win, then I'll be wrong....but I'm not gonna sit here hoping for a team who I think is outmatched, on the road, and is going to lose to "keep it close"

especially when the jets biggest weakness right now is their run defense and that two back combo of dillon and maroney should wear down the front 7. in the jets 6 losses pennington has been truely disgusting and i think we will be able to see pretty early on which pennington is playing today. Philadelphia Eagles -7 (-102)
2.5 units
I feel like a true chalketer here, lol, as I've played all 4 faves now in round 1, but I believe the plays are justified.
This game matches a team who is on a roll, against one who slid in to the playoffs, despite having done nothing in basically the entire 2nd half of the season.
I have no reason to believe the Giants suddenly turn it around and play a solid game today, especailly without Strahan and Shockey, whom I believe are both out (correct me if i'm wrong, but that's what the injury report I saw had).
Eli has looked clueless, the Giants D hasn't done much stopping of anyone lately, and I don't think the impending retirement of Tiki holds the same lustre to his teammates, or anyone else, as the retirement of Bettis did last year for Pittsburgh....and I don't see it being any sort of real motivational factor here at all.
I am simply taking the team who came into the playoffs on a roll over the one who backed in, combining it with the homefield advantage, and picking who I feel will be the SU winner, and then combining it with the fact that a -7 fave covers at about 85% of the time when they win outright, and laying the -7 with the Eagles.
