Anyone else seeing some good value in Ortiz in this one? He always has a shot to win any time he steps in the octagon. Thoughts from people who know more about the sport are very welcome.

I have been talked into hosting the Liddell/Ortiz party at my house tonight so I HAVE to put something on one of them. Unless somebody has some insight I think I will be on Ortiz. I might even play all the dogs on the undercard and everything just to have "more then a rooting intrest".

I'd take liddell, if he doesn't get taken down he wins. And I've very rarely seen him get taken down.

Ortiz has a shot because he is pretty tough, if he can get Liddell on the ground he can win, but I just don't see him getting Chuck on the ground.

To me, if that's the case, Ortiz +231 is great value. Maybe if you could get Ortiz +3.5 or something the points may come into play in a close one that Lidell pulls out by a FG at the buzzer?? LMFAO

Anyway....he also was saying something about Lidell landing a punch in their first fight that blinded Ortiz in one of his eyes (temporarily....obviously) and that's when he started being able to pound on Ortiz cause Ortiz couldn't see the blows coming correctly....so that may have been why Lidell won that one in pretty dominating fashion.

Whatever though. I don't know crap about UFC....just passing this along cause I know he watches it all the time, and that's what he said.

Yeah, I've made pretty good money betting the UFC. Drooling at the ortiz line, he's been waiting for a little revenge for a long time. Liddell will probably win, but I'll take Tito getting better than 2 to 1 any day of the week.

Maybe Ken Shamrock will come out, pull a "foreign object" from his tights, and knock Ortiz out with it, or throw some salt in his eyes when no one's looking or something, setting up grudge match #28 between Ortiz and Shamrock, so Shamrock can get his ass kicked for the 28th time by Ortiz....

i'm a UFC fanatic also, and have been waiting for this fight for 2 months. I like ortiz in this fight because i think lidell is just getting to old. Ortiz is the younger hotter fighter at this time and i think the best value. I never bet on mma because like stifflersmom's brother said "it could go either way". One slip of either fighter from sweat on the ground and the fight is over. should be a GREAT fight, both fighters are the toughest in the sport!! :yeah:

the line has gone down alot which makes me a bit nervous....i see this fight ending pretty much the same way as the first,minus the eye poke..........my money is on chuck i think he gets the ko again.......tito has a chance,just do not see him taking chuck down randy conture couldnt do it,so i see no reason even thinking tito can...........chuck is gonna punish him first then knock his head off:thumbs: in some of the other fights on this card i like most of the favs as well,,aa,griffen,bisping.................pride is also on later tonight with a great card.............good luck guys:thumbs:

ortiz and shamrock was a joke fight i mean how old is ken??? is he 50 yet lol.............tito had his hands full with forrest griffen,and really could have lost that fight,on the other hand chucks last fight was with sobral,which i had my money on by the way,,,,he took him out easily in the first round......just think of the huge target chuck has tonight,you cant miss that head,if this fight stays standing which i think it will tito has a slim chance in winning.............if iam wrong i will eat crow

Ortiz has huge positive energy and is a monster but Liddell is like Mike Tyson when he wa in his prime, he's a flat out animal.

Many people here in my town are ufc freaks and most say Liddell beats him hands down.

I sure do like Ortiz's energy though. I just think its a bad matchup for him from what I've seen of the two fighters.

Sure as hell could go either way and the betting value is surely on Ortiz

jb as far as dogs favs go,ufc is nothing like the nfl..........the guy that is favored to win more times than not does win,,,thats not to say the ufc has no upsets,,,,,,,,,,if i had to guess i would say the favs cover at around 80 percent or better......no different than boxing,,yes you get the tyson vs douglas upset once in a blue moon..............

This Jardine cat seems to be popular on that forum. So far I took:

Ortiz +215 1 unit
MacDonald +141 1 unit
Jardine +246 1 unit


Atleast 2 of those can hit according to those crazy dudes on that forum. And this Arlovski is apparently the lock of the century from what I've read. He just outmatches whoever the dude is he's fighting. -541 is a little too rich for my blood though.

parlays on these fights can be nice,,i took a few myself,,more than likely one fight will knock me out..............if you have a large bankroll you can win money on both pride(which btw is also on tonight) and the ufc............you want money in the bank??? fedor or shogun tonight in pride,,also like hansen aka hellboy!!!most books wont take parlays on any fights,the only one i found that will take them is 5 dimes..........tonight in the ufc iam liking most if not all the favs,,, andrei should win this fight at over -500 its hard to bet him alone,,if it stays standing aa should knock his head off,,in my opinion aa cant afford to loose another after losing 2 outta 3 vs silvia..........jardine i dont know too much about,they say he has great kicks but lost a dec to bonner,which btw griiffen beat bonner twice,,i will stick with forrest in this one...chuck the iceman also gets the nod!!! anyone that may want too see old footage of ufc or pride check out youtube.......also mmaforum.com is another great site for info......i love most sports, but boxing,ufc,pride and even k1 are alot easier to predict than the nfl............uc is a great site and i hope this latest thread will spark some interest in wagering on fights.. good luck to all tonight ,hope you enjoy the fights!!!

They always have old Pride fights on Fox Sports Pittsburgh in my area, that stuff is CRAZY! 10 minute rounds!?!? Granted they barely ever make it to rd. 2, that stuff is anything goes. The knees to the head when a guy is on the ground make you almost have to look away. Anyway, I really like boxing but I'm just getting in to the whole UFC scene. I'll look forward to future fights and see if we can get some info going here.

nitt your right pride is insane!!!! i think overall pride fighters are a step up from the ufc............we saw a bit of this a few weeks back when anderson spider silva placed the champs rich ace franklin s nose in a very weird place on his face,,i have never witnessed that much domination in any mma fight,,i thought silva was going to actually kill him..........i could not believe how brutal that dude was and is,,,i did take the favored champ franklin that night,,was my only loss on that card,was worth taking the loss seeing that fight..........look that up on youtube you wont believe it,totally crushed the champ in less than a half of round,,had him in a thai clinch that he couldnt get out of for some reason,,was the beginning of the end for franklin......franklin claimed after the fight he didnt think silva was that strong,what a way too find out......cant wait for the fights!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck tonight maybe i will have a few right as well,,cant be any worst than my nfl picks this year.........in 25 years of betting football this has to be my worst season ever......................iam in the hole for about 10 grand:flush: lets get some winners tonight:yeah:

Tito looked scared the whole time and was so surprised he got on Chuck's back that he let him up, that's when the fight was over. He got him down once, it wasn't happening again. well guys 66 is in the books,,out of 9 bouts 7 favs won.......jardine and macdonald were the only dogs to win,two fights i should have stayed away from but what the heck i cant have every single fight right.............with a larger bankroll i could have made some money but with only 100 to play with i went with 4 crazy parlays................have to start looking at 67.....right now no matter what i like gsp to retain his belt,,i dont care what the odds are he is going to have that belt for a long time after his total destruction of matt hughes.............spider silva is also on this card another guy i cant imagine losing the belt in which he got by almost killing franklin the champ............crocop and rampage jackson are also fighting on that card.............mirko cro cop line will be very high but no way in hell anyone in the ufc is going to beat that maniac.........not sure who the pride guys are fighting just yet,not like its gonna matter....................
