I would LOVE to know how we DONT have time to have a playoff between 12/19/06 and 1/8/07...BUT we have time to play Ohio and Southern Miss on 1/7/07 and play W. Michigan and Cinci on 1/6/06.....whatever happened to like all the games being played on 12/31/06 and 1/1/07......

There are only SIX games played on 1/1/07....I remember pulling out a black and white TV when I was MUCH younger trying to watch 4 games at ONE time.

I think there are two arguments against a playoff: 1) it would make the many of the regular season games less important. For example the Ohio-St Tx game, or the USC ND game (which was quite important when it was played, but turned out to be less so later). 2) it would make bowl games less important. It is more satisfying for a team to win, say the Rose Bowl than to say it lost in the semifinal of the playoffs.

On a side note, they just ruin CFB by playing this game so late. OSU has been off since November 19th and quite frankly, i am not really into CFB anymore. It's the 2nd week of January, back to work for a week, conference hoops has been going for in some places for 2 weeks now. I am sure when the ball is kicked i will be into it, but it is kind of an afterthought to be honest with you. If OSU wasn't playing tonight, i wouldn't even be watching it most likely. They have botched this whole thing up and it only seems to be getting worse each year. I am sure the OSU offense appreciates this game being drawn out an extra week....:thumbs:
