According to Scout.com "Tonight in Jacksonville,FL. there is a confab of Gator Bowl officials and representatives of 2007 Gator bowl teams West Virginia and Georgia Tech. Included is West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez.
Bowl officials reportedly have been told that Rich Rodriguez wont be there to coach in the game"

If this is true I am Happy that Bama has them a real coach and a little worried because I am an Auburn fan.

There isn't a school in America with more unrealistic expectations than the University of Alabama. Nobody will ever replace Bryant and the Alumns and fans won't give anyone a chance. Remember, Shula had a great season last year going like 11-1 or something. How fast they turned on him. It will be the same for Rodriguez the first time he starts to lose. That job is a black hole for coaches.......

IMO Shula could not coach his way out of wet paper bag. I think any coach who was beaten by their "Rival" Team 5 years in a row seat would be very hot,I cant think of any that have and kept their job. I like Rodriguez and think he can turn it around because he is a proven coach not like shula who has his last name as his biggest asset........That being said if Rodriguez loses 5 years strait to Auburn his ass will be gone too.

Just wait and see you think that Urban Meyer offense is a smoke screen wait until you see Dick Rods O. GIMMICKS (IMO)...I am biased as I am a Marshall University Grad. But Alabama will have him out of there in about 3-5 yrs with that O & his gracious personality.

ADIOS Senoir RichRod!!

That's a pretty ridiculous statement IMO since every single place he's been has had an all world offense once he got settled in. From the D-2 school, to being the O-Coordinator at Tulane when Shaun King helped them go undefeated, to Clemson as the O-Coordinator for a couple years, and now West Virginias last two years of offensive brilliance at WVU.

Also, Urban Meyer's offense isn't a "smoke screen", either. Florida finished 21st in the country with 398ypg (playing in the best conference overall, with by far the biggest, most athletic defenses as a whole) in the NCAA.

Not only are you biased (which at least you admitted, and I respect that), but you are also totally offbase.

You can't even use the argument that he will struggle against bigtime SEC schools because WVU pasted Georgia in the Georgia Dome in last year's Sugar Bowl.

Rich Rod is staying at WVU.

That's a big indictment on Alabama (and their lunatic fans), and a huge slap in the face to a once storied program that now basically no one over 30 cares about or even acknowledges their great history for the most part.

I wonder who they will try to vulture down there now (and then fire in 3 years after one bad year)???

Why is he a Rodriguez? You know what I mean. Is he European Spanish like Lou Pinella? He looked like a regular guy to me. You know as in Archie Bunker working with two guys named Elmo: black Elmo and regular Elmo.

Happy Deuce day everyone! I wish it were a week later as it normally is but oh well.
