recruited all but 1 of FLA current players. Maybe the guy wasn't such a schmuck after all FLA fans and alumns. Not sure if he could have coached this group to a 12-1 record, but there is certainly no doubt that he could pull in the talent to go 12-1.

Zooker has some great recruits coming to Illinois as well......lookout the next couple of years. Urban ought to be on his knees thanking Zook for his windfall.....he's already got Illi to spring for a renovated stadium for a program that has floundered for years....

You are right on. Zook has always been known to be a great recruiter and had a solid class last year (1st full season of recruiting at IL) w/Juice, C. James, Vontae "don't call me Vernon's lil bro" Davis, Pilcher, and Cumberland among others.
This year, he has already landed a top 3 WR in the nation in Arrelious Benn. Anthony Morris and Craig Wilson are highly-touted recruits as well. We are still in the running for Top 100 prospects Marvin Austin (top DT in nation), Martez Wilson, D'Angelo McCray, Josh Brent, and Robert Hughes. In my opinion, if he could land 2 of those 5, that would be a hell of a job on his part and lead to a top 20-25 class.
Our 2-10 record was not indicative of our team this year as there are several games in which we had leads slip away in games we should have won. This team was just so young that in another year or two, they will be very solid. AND mark my words - IL to a bowl game next year.

Marvin Austin is actually the Scout.com #1 player overall. If he lands that kid, people will start looking at Illinois a little bit different.

Zook has always been a big time recruiter.
He should concentrate putting a fence around Chitown and not letIowa, ND & Michigan steal his home grown talent.
Problem with him is XXX's and OOOO's:bang: :flush:
