IMO, the SEC is the strongest conference almost every year. Check out the teams' non-conference records. Most losses come against other SEC teams.

Yes, it's possible the Big Ten has 3 teams better than any SEC team, but the Big Ten has a lot of dogs too. There aren't many cakewalks in SEC games.

Florida: 12-1 overall, 4-0 non-conference

Arkansas: 10-3, 3-1 non-conference (lost to USC)

LSU: 10-2, 4-0 non-conference

Auburn: 10-2, 4-0 non-conference

Tennessee: 9-3, 4-0 non-conference

Georgia: 8-4, 4-0 non-conference

S. Carolina: 7-5, 4-0 non-conference

Kentucky: 7-5, 3-1 non-conference (lost to Louisville)

Alabama: 6-6, 4-0 non-conference

Vanderbilt: 4-8, 3-1 non-conference (lost to Michigan)

Mississippi: 4-8, 2-2 non-conference (lost to Wake Forest & Missouri)

Mississippi State: 3-9, 2-2 non-conference (lost to Tulane & West Virginia)

All of that is falling on deaf ears in this forum, bro! They think the Big 10 is the only conference in college football! I agree with you, JR! There's a reason why A LOT of teams have refused to join the SEC conference!

most years the SEC is the strongest, but this year IMO they are down. I feel Mich is the #2 team and even if you say they are #3 the Big 10 would have 1 and 3 plus Wisconsin. If you look at the SEC they have Fla and LSU IMO Auburn is not a top 25 team they are soft. I think Wisconsin would get a win if they played Fla or Auburn and if they play Fla it would be a very good game. I dont like Mich but I think they got fucked:bang:

Sagarin Ratings....

The PAC-10 was ranked 1st in Strength of Schedule.....
81.48 overall conference ranking with all their teams in the Top 10

The SEC is ranked 2nd with a 79.88 rating with Tennessee having the best ranking at 11th, South Carolina 15th, Missy State 17th, Florida 19th, LSU 28th, Auburn 30th, Arkansas 41st....

The Big East ranks 3rd at 78.58 with Syracuse 14th, Cincinnati 16th, Louisville 36th, WVU 42nd, and Rutgers 51st....

The Big Ten is 4th at 77.33 with Penn State 12th, Michigan 13th, Indiana 18th, while Ohio State is 38th......

But the BCS uses ELO-CHESS and just wins and losses with margin of victory or loss not considered and it presents and different picture....

Ohio State #1 - 102.73
Michigan #2 - 99.18
Florida #3 - 98.05
USC #4 - 94.60
LSU #5 - 93.92

The Big Ten have 4 Top 25 teams ranked by ELO - CHESS
OSU 1, Michigan 2, Wisky 8, Penn State 17

The Big East has the least of the top 4 conferences:
Louisville 13, Rutgers 15, WVU 18

While the Pac-10 and SEC have 6:
USC 4, Cal 11, OSU 14, UCLA 16, O 20 & AZ ST 24
FLA 3, LSU 5, AUB 7, ARK 10, TN 12, UGA 25

Check out these stats....

SEC vs. Top 10 = 7-23 SEC vs. Top 30 = 22-43
PAC 10 vs. Top 10 = 4-17 PAC 10 vs. Top 30 27-38
Big East vs. Top 10 = 3-12 Big East vs. Top 30 = 5-18
Big Ten vs. Top = 10 = 1- 16 Big Ten vs. Top 30 = 7-33

See...there is no easy answer to this question/problem!

Wah Wah Wah Birds.....LMAO

I just think there's no way to make everyone happy no matter what criteria they use, playoff would still leave some people out!

I agree you could do an eight team playoff & the 9th team would be complaining. No way to make everyone happy. It is what we have to work with so we have to live with it for now.

I'm sorry but there's NO comparison b/tw these conferences this year. People keep talking about Wisconsin being good, Wisconsin is not good. Look at their schedule, are you kidding me with that? If they had to play Ohio State and got thumped by 20+ then they'd barely be in the Top 20. They only beat 2 teams with a winning record all season, Penn State at home and Purdue on the road. Big deal. It makes me want to vomit when people keep pumping up the Big 10 and compare it to the SEC. There's no comparison whatsoever. the 5th-7th place teams in the SEC, Tennessee/South Carolina/Georgia would all probably finished 3rd in the Big 10.

Wisconsin is a nice little Top 17-25 football team, not a top 10 team (nevermind #6)

I completely agree with Cuse.

Tennessee may have actually been second in the Big 10 this year.

People said that shit about Wisky last year and they beat the shit out of Auburn.

The Big 10 is a joke this year. Say what you want about the shcedule rankings of each conference. The SEC is by far the best conference in the NCAA year in and year out.

You're right Larry....last year Wisky was a TD or more dog to Auburn and beat their ass from start to finish.

My dumb ass was on Auburn in that game....I remember clearly.

And why does everyone think Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama are great teams? And Kentucky?

I see those teams have good Non conference records, and it's convenient to point out the good teams they lost to, but look at some of these non-conference schedules...

Like Kentucky. 3-1 non conference. But look who they played.

Texas St San Marcos (WHO?)
Central Michigan (oh boy, so the SEC can beat the MAC)
UL Monroe (and the rough and rugged SUN BELT...by 2 points)

Arkansas. 3-1, but...

UL Monroe (another SEC team beating up on this unfortunate Sun Belt opponent)
Utah St (wasn't this team being called the worst in Div 1-A?)
Southeast Missouri St (are you kidding me?)

and

they lost to USC 50-14!!

Even Florida. 4-0, but...

Southern Miss (beating up on good old C-USA)
Central Florida (ditto)
Western Carolina (Big bad Southern conference foe there)
Fla St (ACC)

Tennessee actually had a half decent non-conference schedule.

Cal
Air Force
Marshall
Memphis

although both Marshall and Memphis were pretty piss poor this year.

So yea, the SEC should be just about undefeated in non-conference play. All they play is mid majors and LESS.

I don't see any Big 10 or Big 12 in there....or Big East for that matter....and one ACC and two Pac 10's....and one of the Pac 10 team beat the tar out of one of the top SEC teams.

I think all this talking about the best conference is kinda pointless anyway. All that matters is what team is better, FLA or UM at this point....and I still say UM.

BUT, I understand why people would rather see FLA get their shot too.

Hopefully it's a good game.

"Your" right, Cuse. "Your" absolutely correct. At the same time, "your" being a bit of a smart ass to the newbies. "Your" not a mod here. "Your" just a member. I'm starting to think that "your" a little out of line here.

Yep.....I've come to the conclusion that....

"Your" an asshole.

Oh, suck it, Rothko.....LOL

Just because someone thinks UM is better than UF doesn't mean they think the Big 10 is better than the SEC.

And I'll prove it....while its impossible to actually say who is better between UF and UM, I'll say this. IMHO, I think UM is a better football team than UF and would beat them if they played. IMHO, I think the SEC is a better conference than the Big 10.

I can feel both ways, right?

I may be the only one from big ten country who is not upset about UM not being #2. First off, I think both teams have a great arguement. Mich 11-1 only one loss to the #1 team. Fla 12-1 and ran that gauntlet of an SEC schedule. Everyone says Michigan only lost by 3 to OSU well, that is true but the game was not that close. If not for stupid unforced turnovers by OSU the game would not have been close, not to mention a late TD. Michigan gave up 500 yards of offense to OSU. I think they got their shot and now it's time to let someone else try to beat OSU. And even if Michigan were to get to play OSU and beat them the way I see it that would make them 1-1, so then what really would that settle? Now on the other side has FLA impressed me a lot this year no. Actually I think I bet against them more times then not this season. The system right now sucks to tell you the truth. The BCS got lucky last year with two undefeated teams. I'd love to see a playoff, a team like Boise State upsetting another team in the first round just like in the NCAAB tournament. Plus, could you imagine filling out a bracket for NCAAF just like when March Madness comes around. Sorry to say this but Michigan fans are the biggest cry baby's when their team loses. My relative tried telling me that OSU resodding the field played a part in the loss or that it was bullshit they did that so close to the game day. Well both teams had to play on that field that day. Although, for once I may think Michigan fans have something to bitch about, but then again I think FLA would of too if they had not got the shot to play. Oh enough of this just fuck the BCS!!!!

Easy there, Welcome. Like JoePa said, just playing around...no need for name calling and personal attacks.

And for the record, you shouldn't blaspheme the hardest rocking guirtarist in the history of rock and roll. No way a "fagg*t" could come up with albums like "Break Like The Wind" and "Smell The Glove." Or how about a song titled "Lick My Love Pump?"

If I hurt your feelings poking fun of the typo, I apologize....good luck on your picks today.
