*Two plays Wednesday:

Virginia at Purdue (-2) - 4:30pm Pacific - Game #737-738
Purdue played well in Maui earning two wins over quality opponents Oklahoma and Depaul. They have had a full week off to recover and prepare for this big game. They are sure to be improved with the experience gained in Maui. All-conference caliber forward Carl Landry reported no problems playing three games in three days on his surgically repaired knee and he is now all systems go. This is a nationally televised showcase game for well regarded head coach Matt Painter. It is critical for this young Purdue team to get this matchup on their home court. Virginia has not played on the road yet this season and last year went 2-11 in road games, with both wins coming instate (Richmond, Virginia Tech). Starting forward Adrian Joseph (ankle) missed last game and is listed as questionable Wednesday. F/C Tunji Soroye (hernia), a projected starter, is expected to be available on a limited basis but has not played this season. Expect Purdue to get another quality win. Give the small number.

Clemson at Minnesota (+7) - 6:30pm Pacific - Game #765-766
The Gophers lost a close one at home to Iowa State four games back but that loss was better than looked as ISU had some unconscious 3-point shooting from guard Mike Taylor in the second half. Minnesota then lost three straight games at the Old Spice tournament in Orlando, but they played the first game without starting center Spencer Tollackson (virus) who is possibly their MVP. He and most of the team's other starters saw limited action in the next two games as several young players were given opportunities to play. The three losses came vs decent to quality opponents in Southern Illinois, Marist, and Montana. Minnesota is very well coached and always very tough at home. They will be primed for this nationally televised game. Tollackson, junior Dan Coleman, and Oklahoma transfer Lawrence McKenzie give the Gophers enough talent to compete. Clemson is a perfect 7-0 but were taken to the wire vs Old Dominion and Mississippi State in their only true tests. Expect a close game. Take the points.
